62. Peres is not senile - he is bad.
Pnina ,   Israel   (06.20.06)
Peres was bad even as a young man. Moshe Sharett wrote that he dreaded the chance that Peres would ever have power in Israel. Golda hated him so much that she would not let him ride in the same elevator with him. He is the begetter of the lethal Oslo Accords -- and since then his name should bettter be Sinon then Shimon. (Sinon was the man who persuaded the Trojans to take that nice horse into their city.)

Marty ,   USA   (06.20.06)
I have family in Sderot who can not afford to move. I am sure they would make the sacrifice and trade apartments with Peres. Their apartment is small but I am sure he can deal. Oh, its also top floor.
64. Peres - the next president
Yariv ,   Tel Aviv   (06.20.06)
He is running for president of Israel and he needs the support of all left-wingers including Islamists. He is simply expressing the oppinion of his family, Olmert's family and a few other fanilies. For this he is paid by US billioners. The guy (and his handlers) know exactly what he is doing.
65. Race card
marty ,   USA   (06.20.06)
Is it time to bring up the race card? Lilly white Peres thinks Sderot residents shoud shut up and take it? What are the demographics in Sderot? Not the same as his cushy neighborhood.
66. Shimon Shut your Face
Joseph Kaufman ,   Oakland CA   (06.20.06)
Anyone still wondering why they call this clown a looser? Shimon, put your money where your stupid mouth is. Move to Sderot. Lead by example. Demonstrate to the victims of your Oslo perfidy how not to be hysterical in the wake of the destruction you initiated. I am deeply ashamed when I hear such stupid remarks attributed to past heros. Oh Woe to Israel that it follows such fools.
67. Israeli leaders
chaim ,   phoenix usa   (06.20.06)
There is a saying “a fish dies by his mouth” the utterances by a person chosen to become the leader of Israel by a “Heart Beat” is not only expressing his own opinion but that of his mentor The current Prime Minister Ehued Olmart, who supports and encourages his treasons family to espouse his true opinions. Does anybody even wonder why the PM does not publicly repudiate HIS chosen replacement, HIS condemnation of the IDF, by publicly apologizing for the false libelous accusations leveled against them by the outside world, and concurred with his family in their publicly calling the IDF’s General Chief of Staff, the Defense Minister as “Murderers and war criminals, for a questionable tragic event, even before any investigation of just what occurred at the beach in Gaza. Well Citizens of Israel, keep such leaders in power you can rest assured, they will not be hurt by their actions that border on treason, BUT YOU WILL.

yakov shani ,   IL   (06.20.06)
I have never been one of your opponents, nor have I been a supporter with any degree of enthusiasm, so I feel that I can be fairly objective in stating that in light of your rather unfortunate statement and the contempt that you have shown for the "front line soldiers of Sderot", you should resign and depart the political scene never to be heard again. I know you are a pachyderm of long standing and will not take notice of this should you read it. I feel I must say it to you. Please go, now.
71. Peres has a VERY valid point that you are missing
Russell ,   Miami   (07.04.06)
Complaining about the Kassams and showing that they affect us will only encourage more firing of Kassams. If read in that light - he is saying that we should say that the Kassams won't make us run and are not doing anything to us to the outside world and among ourselves we should talk about it and make it a huge priority and hit them back hard taking a very forceful position of response but without talking much about how they affect us. We want to show NO weakness. That is what he is saying and that is what you all are missing. By saying "They shelled Kiryat Shemona" he is not saying to the residents of Sderot "Big deal..." he is saying to the Palestinians "You've tried that before - doesn't work. You might as well save your energy and efforts and do something else. This won't affect us." All of this being said - Israel has to do more (and talk less) about stopping the Kassams.
