1. Israelis learn from their mistakes
Besalel ,   Kew Gardens, NY   (06.23.06)
Whether you agree with them or not, it turns out all those on the "right" voicing their concerns that after Disengagement, southern Israel will suffer a rain of missles, Hamas would be strengthened and peace would be more elusive, turned out to be on the right. Disengagement brought disaster to Ashkelon and Sderot, pushed Hamas into power and caused more death, be it Jewish or Arab. Promises that the world opinion would change or that the blood libels will end turned out false, i.e. Gaza beach fabrications. We gained nothing from Gaza. Why would anyone support going down that road again?
2. Are you saying only 30% of Israelis are liberals?
Bush ,   USA   (06.23.06)
Some people wake up before the damage is done , others after the damage. And some never wake up at all.
3. But Abba/Olmert will get Nobel Prize
Alex ,   LA, USA   (06.23.06)
if Abbas not killed
4. Too Late for Israelis
Jerry ,   NYC, USA   (06.23.06)
You voted in this Leftist government, knowing their policies and the threats they pose. Now you will have to live with it for the next 4 years.
5. Disraeli - There are lies, damn lies, and statistics
Karen R ,   Maryland   (06.23.06)
Disraeli said, "There are lies, damn lies, and statistics." Polls are the easiest thing in the world to rig. A change in one word in a question can change the whole response pattern. Seeing that Israel Our Home is sponsoring the poll, I'm not at all surprised at the results. In fact, if they weren't anti-disengagement I would suggest they fire their poll-takers! And of course if Kadima had sponsored the poll, it would have turned out just as strongly the other way. There's a nice little book around - "How to Lie with Statistics" and I suggest that everyone read it in self-defense.
6. to Bush
Drew   (06.23.06)
Does your objection to withdrawal automatically make you a right winger? What about all those who object to the withdrawal, but support gay rights, pro-choice, environmental issues, and human rights? Are they not liberals too?! Because the majority of the Americans have a constant inability to process statstics that Americans think Israel is full of extremists.
7. Yeah right !!!
Secular Sabra ,   Israel   (06.23.06)
LMAO. Who did they ask ? The only 'Right' we have left ..... Russians and/or religious :o)
8. Listen, US Jews
Shoshana Rubin ,   Nokem   (06.23.06)
With the democratically-elected govt of Olmert, just what are US Jews to do...go against the will of Israelis...no matter how obscene their will? I STRONLY suggest that US Jews offer NO support for the utterly cruel, brutal, foolish Olmert plan for the eviction of Jews with this in mind.....first they came for Gaza Jews, then Judean & Samarian Jews, then the Jews of Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Haifa. Why should GWBush, EU, UN and Quartet bother evicting Jews out of Israel when Olmert will do it for them? Jews are not killing Jews....Arab Muslims are killing Jews.
9. Shas
Ari   (06.23.06)
70% of the country may be against it but between Labor and Kadima and meretz there are 53 Jewish knesset members who will vote in favor of the plan. The only way to ensure it does not pass is if Eli Yishai and Rabbi Ovadia Yosef are convinced to block the plan and threaten to collapse the government if it is brought to a vote in the knesset. That will force olmert to take his 53 seats and rely on the arabs to give away the land, in which case there will be a rebellion similar to the time of Rabin and his government will definitely collapse. Scary, but until the next election everything hinges on shas and utj....
10. PERETZ-THE BIGGEST LOSER OF ALL TIME
DEBRA ,   USA   (06.23.06)
PERETZ SAID RECENTLY. " I AM A MAN OF PEACE." AND THIS LOSER WAS APPOINTED DEFENSE MINISTER FOR ISRAEL. THIS HAS TO BE THE WORST DECISION EVER MADE FOR ISRAEL'S SAFETY. GET HIM OUT OF THERE. HE CAN GO WORK AS SDEROT'S DOG CATCHER. OY GAVALT.
11. The chamberlain/petain teaam is almost over
Arie   (06.23.06)
12. Peretz unproductive and should be replaced
(06.23.06)
The polls tell what I have been thinking for two weeks. The Defense Minister is not doing an effective job and looks real bad on TV having his home town attacked by hundreds of rockets while he mumbles give peace a chance. Olmert-- who is a smart cookie-- has to take some decisive actions. But please give him as much of a break as you gave Sharon. Give him the benefit of the doubt. Let him redeem himself. Let him turn out the lights in Gaza and just as he changed his mind on the Gaza pullout let him now take stock of the scope of pulling out of the West Bank. Anyone who watches from afar has got to see that Israel gave the Palestineans a golden oportunity for peace and they turned the gold into lead which is now drowning them.
13. Olmert's disengagement plan
leah amdur ,   Jerusalem Israel   (06.23.06)
No. 4 all is not lost the Israeli government can fall if there is a no confidence motion that win. Ie if a no confidence vote gains a majority in the Knesset the government will fall. This can easily happen if the MKs vote for the country and not for their pockets.
14. Let the gov't. fall already
jason white ,   afula,israel   (06.23.06)
They are doing nothing for our security and defense.Let this regime just go and let us have new elections.

16. one option
abeer ,   jerusalem   (06.23.06)
do you prefer to change kadima to israil our home or to change hamass to fateh
17. Bring this evil government down, now!
Avraham ,   Netivot   (06.23.06)
18. #5- Exactly
(06.23.06)
Nobody is buying this %#@&... This poll has about as much significance as "Kochav Nolad" ... People may show interest at first , but then they will realize how ridiculous it is... (conducted by Lieberman, come on how obvious is that...?!)
19. I can't wait for the next elections.
David ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (06.23.06)
Don't be surprised if Shas and Israel Bateinu are the big winners in the next elections, with Likud getting a few more seats and Kadima evaporating the way Shinui did.
20. to #18
jason white ,   afula,israel   (06.23.06)
How come you did not sign your name olmert?
21. To #20 - Forgot
Edan ,   Beer Sheva   (06.23.06)
Just forgot... Now don't you feel silly , Bibi.... ;-)
22. Olmert will be gone by March, 07
Josh ,   Jerusalem   (06.23.06)
He does have Labor and 80% of Kadima members who will support him in the Knesset. In addition, Arabs and Meretz will support him. This gives him 58 votes. So with Shas and Haredim against him, he is gone. Of course, he has a future outside Israel so not be upset his supporters.
