and they didn't. They know just like us that if they use chemical/biological warfare it will mostly hit the Palestinians because the APCs and tanks are protected against these threats. Not to mention that the IDF has units that are preapred to clean and fight in case of an unconventional attack. Let them use it, it will just give us the legitimacy to hit them even harder. If they mean hitting population centers with chem/bio weapons, then god help them, we almost wiped Iraq from the map for less.

I must note what American doctrine in this case is. Since chemical and biological weapons are forbidden by international law / treaties, the US military does not posses any of these weapons. The US considers all weapons of mass destruction (WMDs, NBC weapons) to be equal. This means that when someone attacks the US with either chemical or biological weapons, they will get nuclear weapons from America in response. I highly commend the American way of dealing with things. However, using a nuclear weapon on Gaza is impossible due to the proximity of Gaza to Israeli population centers (such as Sderot and Netiv Ha'asara). We shall see. But I do think that this is an interesting point to take notice of.

Come on. Who controls Gaza? Is it Hamas? Yet, Hamas seems to be divided over this. Is it PM Ismail Haniyeh who calls on Hamas not to hurt Gilad? Is it Khaled Meshal from Damascus, still trying to pull the strings of Hamas from a distance (he could care less about the lives of Palestinians). Is it Mahmoud Abbas and Fatah? Is it this military wing of Fatah? Obviously, their entire governmental system is in disarray, everyone's making conflicting claims and no Palestinian leaders has the guts to stand up to terrorists. This is ridiculous. And they want a state? Blow them back to the Stone Age.

It's so easy to pin this all on Israel. But really. Have a little hindsight. The PA was in decline since the 70s. It began when Palestinians became pissed off about the corruption of Fatah under Yasser Arafat. Hamas ran under a slogan of "Reform," which attracted many voters sick of corruption. Unfortunately, Hamas has only complicated matters for Palestinians. Sure, Israel withdrew from Gaza, and now it's a disaster. But don't pin this all on Israel, who garnered international support for what it did. This is mainly one of the many failures of the Palestinian Authority that we are witnessing, and their inability to run a stable government (which is why they shouldn't have a state).

Obviously the Palestinians do not fear for their lives, so take the land! For each Kassam, push the border of Gaza 1 km towards the Egyptian border and annex it as a no-mans land... to protect our people... and theirs too. It would not be populated it would serve as a buffer. Obviously, Hamas is not doing well as a government so either they are encouraging the attacks so that Israel will retaliate and the Palestinian people will not notice that they are hungry, jobless and futureless for another day, or they are unable to prevent the attacks!

I think you forgot to include state-sponsored and state-funded terrorism, which is currently being practised by our lovely US allies inter alia in Iraq, in Afghanistan and by your beautiful government on the non-Jewish inhabitants of the area where you live, not to mention the Israeli terrorism against the Egyptians on the Suez Canal during the "war of attritrion", the original inhabitants of the Golan Heights, the Lebanese both in teh south of teh country and furher north under the great bloodthirsty leadership of the almost late Mr Sharon. I disagree with Bram of Toronto. Savagery is killing a family on a beach. Legitimate resistance to armed soldiers is part of war ya habaib qalbi. You cannot always have your cake an eat it. People complain about attacks by Palestinians on Israeli civilians. Well, the latest attack was on the armed forces. Or should it be that Palestinians are supposed to do nothing at all - and just lie down and die until Israeli artillery and aircraft fire? IMO - The Palestinians should lay down their weapons and pick up their shovels. They should put away this silly rhetoric that Israel does not exist (as should the rest of the Arab world) and realize Israel is their LARGEST TRADING PARTNER. They should build schools, hospitals and restaurants instead of spending their time, money and energy fighting their neigbhors. They should stop teaching their youth that the Jews are evil and start teaching them how to use computers. But that won't happen - it's so much easier when you have someone else to blame. Let's play a game called "assume that Israel genuinely wants peace and only ever retaliates". I know you and your Arab terrorist friends don't believe this, but it a game ... a test. I propose that they do the following: - Release Gilad Shalit - Announce in Arabic that Israel has a right to exist - State in Arabic that murdering Jews is finished, forever - Stop teaching your children that killing a Jew is life goal and can only be bettered by killing yourself at the same time - Stop arming armies, within armies - Lay down your arms - Stop smuggling weapons and building death missiles - Stop terror, murder, kidnapping - Stop faking TV propaganda (Pallywood - you know what I mean) - Stop stop stop everything that is wrong - Tell Israel you want to live in peace based on a 2-state solution - Tell Israel you want to jointly define the boarders of the two states - Tell Israel you want Jerusalem as your capital (understanding that so do the Jews) - Agree that Arab refugees and Jewish refugees should be treated in exactly the same way as all refugees - Tell Israel that the truce starts now and both sides must stop fighting - Wait 3-months (that's all) see there will be no Jewish retaliation - Wait another 3-months ... still no terror ... still no retaliation - Wait another 3-months ... still no terror ... still no retaliation - ask for a meeting to start the process - etc ... Let's just see who is right.
