1. Terrorist head Abbas ,You are a war crime !
Marcel ,   Florida   (06.28.06)
Israel has wasted many ,many years going along with the pathological jihadist and his terrorist networks as he sent out his killers with one hand and called for peace and dialogue with his twiisted lips. How long can Israel play the game ? Better destroy them Israel before they destroy you ........ because THEY will never stop . There is no peace to be had with the Islamists, ever !.
2. No Abb-ass
J K ,   NYC, USA   (06.28.06)
The crime was allowing the rockets to be launched against Israel day in and out when Israel had left Gaza and Gaza was no longer under occupation. Perhaps economically bloackaded, but no occupation. Israel didnt exercise governmental functions there nor was/is there one soldier or 'settler' in there. Justa bunch of Fakestinians stewing in their juices, not knowing what to do with their freedom to build a government and a country and instead using the opportunity to shoot rockets at Israel and do nothing to stop it. Then this. Please do shut up.
3. yes, all of the peaceniks in gaza are being punished
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (06.28.06)
this operation will hinder the ever-growing peace and reconciliation movement that has been sweeping the palestinians recently. let's not make them hate israel more (if that is EVEN possible).
4. This comming from the biggist criminals in the world"end"
Danny ,   California /Nahal Oz   (06.28.06)
5. World class Idiots has a new member
Talula ,   Israel   (06.28.06)
Mahmoud Abbas!! congratulations to you. It's official. When he comes out with statements describing the operation as a 'crime', it puts him in the world class of Idiots. 82% of Palestinians said that Gilad should not be given back without a prisoner swap. OK, 82% of Palestinians are paying the price now. And Mahmoud should not kid himself, he has no infrastructure, no money, no food, no medicine - he has nothing (apart from his own personal stash of cash). Let's hope he now understands that we are not fucking around with him and his insincere speeches any longer. We only want our boy back, that's all.
6. Abbas, war is hell & after you've begun one don't cry to USA
Jeremiah ,   Israel   (06.28.06)
7. This is what voting Hamas into power gets you
John ,   Vermont   (06.28.06)
I normally sympathize with the Palestinians but in this case I don't. It was the Palestinians who raided Isreal - and now they have to face the music. Neither Abbas or Hamas has any control over there, and if they want this to stop they better start reigning these factions, or continue to bear the consequences as they are doing now.
8. Operation - Summer Rain
Scott Marshall ,   Middletown NY - USA   (06.28.06)
The only crimes being committed are those of the Palestinians. Israel has the duty to protect its citizens and soldiers by anyway necessary.
9. Abbas
Brod ,   USA   (06.28.06)
It is a crime for Abbas not to stamp out the savages and criminals among his people.
10. Family fleeing/Family voting Hamas same picture "END"
Danny ,   California+Nahal Oz   (06.28.06)
11. Yup.. Collective Punishments War Crimes
richard Hitchings ,   methil   (06.28.06)
12. Collective punishment
alman ,   jerusalem, Israel   (06.28.06)
There are those who take funds intended to help a population out of poverty and keep that money for self made purposes. The people starve and have no help. This too is collective punishment. What happened to all the funds contributed by the internation community? Does anyone care? Accusing others seems to be the only way out of an untenable situation.
13. Fill a complain to UN agaist Israel, hah?
keren ,   sao paulo   (06.28.06)
Will ask Bush and other leaders to sway Israel into calling off offensive, hah? Go to BBC ,3 days ago, to know how US army treat enemies ;in 1 hour everything is done! Compare and see who is tougher,Israel or US,EU,etc. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/5112532.stm On the other hand, arabs seem to understand fear only. That's the way they know to respect other lives. Israel should keep being tough with them, and meanwhile getting rid of them. If many are leaving their homes...well,better drive them to Egypt ,then close the doors.
14. #3
Talula ,   Israel   (06.28.06)
Tze, tze, tze. Shame on you Mike. Do you think we should sit back and do nothing? They do not recognize our right to exist, does that not tell you how much they hate us already? They can only learn some respect by our actions in Gaza. We must do everything to get Gilad back here safely. I hope with all my heart and soul that this operation is over very soon and that ALL our boys return home safely. That's all I want and that's all I wish for now.
15. Abu Mazen does nothing.........except
Imbar ,   Israel   (06.28.06)
sit on his hands while incubating and protecting terrorists...........yet he has the unmitigated audacity to cry and whine when the problem is of his making. He like his predecessor is a CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY!! I think there is no group of people alive on this planet who have taken no responsiblity for their actions as much as the Palestinians. Sadly, the world has propped them up and excused them so much that they are used to this one form of abhorrent behavior after another. This just in: After groveling to the Iranians I hear the Bush administration is now holding talks with OBL's people. Wait.........this just in. Ah, never mind.
16. Abbas is terrorist
Monitor ,   Earth   (06.28.06)
It is very interesting sentence: Abbas is a terrorist. Many comments can be said here based on the idea which Israeli have had about Abbas. Although he is very moderate and pragmatic, he is always against military resistance of occupation, but all that does not satisfy Israel. Last week, after Israel has killed dozens of innocent women, children, has Abbas met Olmert in Patra against the willingness of the majority of Palestinian. So what is left for Abbas to do in order to make Israeli satisfied? He should flow the compulsory military service and fighten his people and even then, I doubt if Israeli will be satisfied with him. In conclusion, it is very clear that Israeli will never ever be satisfied.
17. #14 Talula, I think he was trying to be sarcastic.
Bill Pearlman ,   Chicago, USA   (06.28.06)
18. Abbas, the voice of peace
Daniel ,   North Tel Aviv   (06.28.06)
Like it or not, President Abbas is the most moderate Palestinian and Arab leader around. If Israel doen't make peace with him, it will never make peace with anybody else in the area. The alternative to Abbas is Islamic Jihad and Al-Qaeda. Long-term strategic objectives for Israel must be to reach out to him for a Deal on a two state solution, not to weaken him and the moderates by invasions. Israel aggressive policies in the last 6 years have strengthen the extremists on the Palestinian side and now, they are holding all of Israel hostage. Why not give peace a real chance by making a goodwell gesture towards him and releasing some prisoners in exchange for Gilad? This will be received very well among the nPalestinians, will give them hope and who Knows what will happen next. The alternative (war) is really awful and will never achieve neither peace nor security Daniel, the voice of reason
19. Israel/Gaza
RichDac ,   York, UK   (06.28.06)
Boys with toys whilst women and children suffer - does having a Y chromosome always mean the need to kill ?
20. Israel has used the utmost restraint...and now
Andy   (06.28.06)
it has to wage war. Israel is always ready for peace with the Palestinians, and is today. But not with the murderers in control. The Gaza peace movement, Mike? Are you high? Peace movements do not send rockets on Sderot. Peace movements do not kidnap. Where are the rallies in Khan Yunis and Gaza City protesting these acts? That's what peace movements do. You shouldn't need a microscope to find a peace movement. I am far left of center, but dealing with the Palestinians is just ridiculous.
21. missile on the beach
Joe ,   Savannah, GA USA   (06.28.06)
I, for one, am concerned for the young man who was kidnapped. However, what about the recent missile on the beach? After reading of these events for the past few years, the beach incident seems like one of those brainless provocations that is then followed up with a nice little lie. If Israel had any idea what kind of willfull children they appear to be, from a perspective here in the United States. If there was no missile on the beach, then yes, it is different. But you what? I think Israel started it. The country has a history of bascially extreme retribution murders. Once Olmert can figure out a property line, the two peoples, Israel and "Palestineans" or whatever they are, can get to the business of being meighbors. Meanwhile, Israel is the Big Brother and must show leadership and example, not ever-so-petty provocation. I can tell you I am sick of it, and I think the rest of the world has little patience for Israel's continue unfocused agression ad-infinitum, ad-naseum. Plus, to be frank, you are costing me in the wallet here in the USA. I pay a lot of taxes that go to your "defense." Good luck.
22. Reuters photo: donkey hitched to car chassis
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (06.28.06)
Ha, ha! They got that idea from watching the episode where Cartman, Kenny, Stan and I took the goat to Afghanistan.
23. Since they're collective guilty of supporting terrorism
Rob ,   UK   (06.28.06)
Then any punishment is justified.
24. GIVE US BACK OURS SONS ! KEEPING THEM IS A CRIME ! !
AVINU   (06.28.06)
25. world press needs to say 'Abbas and Haniya are impotent!'
michael ,   tel aviv & london   (06.28.06)
Abbas is starting to look foolish all over the world as is Haniya - they should both resign and say 'we did our best' (regardless of whether or not it's true). Let's (us and the world) start seeing a true picture of the black and white. Terrorists that want to cut of a kid's head on video, or a democracy. What 'filth' these terrorists are - and I used to be a liberal but voted for Liberman in the last election. Calling them 'animals' would be unfair to animals who don't behave like this!
26. #3 - a joke? - who are these peacniks ? In hiding ?
michael ,   tel aviv & london   (06.28.06)
not talking about Abbas are you? same animal just a different head. who are these people - pray tell us !
27. #11 - I agree - Israel should not be submitted to them !!
michael ,   tel aviv & london   (06.28.06)
glad to see that you've seen the light ! Why should Israelis be subjected to Kazzams and kidnappings !?
28. bombing civilian infrastructes is a war crime
Karim ,   Morocco   (06.28.06)
29. #14 - you want much less than me ..
michael ,   tel aviv & london   (06.28.06)
I want the same as you but much more. The Muslims (not Arabs) behave like animals and there are seemingly no moderates - if there are - where are they ? Hiding from the extremists? The Muslims know nothing about 'honor' or 'morals' and must be potty trained. They must be taught that their actions are those of animals and be trained like dogs! Harsh? Perhaps but true! Mike
30. #13 - cruddy nonsense
Rustum ,   London, UK   (06.28.06)
You said: "On the other hand, arabs seem to understand fear only. That's the way they know to respect other lives. Israel should keep being tough with them, and meanwhile getting rid of them. " Oh, I would be so ashamed to post such moronic racist claptrap. Do you not have a good friend who can advise you against your constant and persistent racism? "Arabs seem to understand fear only?" Oh yes - scientific studies as references please. "Israel should continue getting rid of them". Well said, from your safe haven of Sao Paolo. Are there any other nations which have annoyed you so much that you feel obliged to call for their genocide? Honestly. If only you would re-read what you write, you might notice that they are the sentiments of a barbarian.
