Nightly battle: Breslov vs. IDF    Neta Sela
1. Morons and fanatics!
I fthey have a death wish then go ahead. Israel should not risk the life of one soldier to protect these ingorant zealots and if they get captured by Palestinians I would not do a thing to rescue them if endangers a soldier. They think that normal rules do not apply to them.
Joel ,   New York, USA   (06.29.06)
2. Shuvu Banim is not Breslov
Shuvu Banim is a cult led by cult leader named Layzer Berland, a super-Zionist crackpot who has brainwashed two generations of boys, both newly religious and religious from home. He is an outcast by most mainstream Breslovers, and deserves to be so for descrating the memory of Rebbe Nachman, ztsl.
Hanoch ,   Brooklyn   (06.29.06)
3. Maybe?????????
The Rabbis can authorize the moving of the Tomb? It will make the situation safer and keep the Tomb from being desecrated again, as the muHAMedans in their quest for religious rights are know to do.
Arie   (06.29.06)
4. idf generals are not alouf
Peretz protect palestinians, and let jews to be killed, they do a lot of noise, they spend a lot of money and what is the result ? no terrorst killed, some hamas in hostel called prison protected by tsahal for two weeks the time to see the world soccer cup before to be released by bagatz and aharaon barak the "let jews to be killed to protect palestinian well being" man. is there a man in the matkal now ?
cordier   (06.29.06)
5. Let them visit....escorted, unescorted.....its up to them.
Andy   (06.29.06)
6. I'm Not At All Into Chassidut, But Kol HaKavod!
Kol HaKavod for their mesirut nefesh, which evidently outweighs their common sense. The IDF should retake Joseph's Tomb and EVERY other place in OUR land, and I hope that in the zechut of these peoples' mesirut nefesh, we will be zocheh to see it soon. There CANNOT be a situation where Jews cannot travel freely to EVERY centimeter of the land of Israel, and if someone doesn't want Jews in the land of Israel, then THEY will have to go elsewhere.
Yishai Kohen ,   YeShA, Israel   (06.29.06)
7. #2 is right, this is NOT Breslov
They represent Breslov about as much as Merkaz HaRav and Machon Meir represent Satmar.
Daniel van Dalen ,   Jerusalem   (06.29.06)
8. Idiots. Simple as that.
Talula ,   Israel   (06.29.06)
9. God Bless Them
Joseph is one of the most important figures in our history as a people. I think it is very, very sad that his tomb was abandoned and allowed to be desecrated. I cannot imagine any other religion not only allowing, but actively giving up such an important site in their history ! Perhaps if the general population cared as much as these few people do, this wouldn't be happening as the gravesite would have stayed in Israeli hands. Whether the particular Hassidim represent Breslov or not regarding this is irrelevant. They have a tremedous amount of faith and should not be subject to abuse, either by the IDF or on Ynet talkbacks.
Bat Kohen ,   United States   (06.29.06)
10. What about "freedom of religion" for ALL?
Hold on a moment. In the JEWISH state, Jews are prevented from visiting their most Holy place (the Temple Mount), and from the Tomb of Yoseph - which, as this article failed to mention, was destroyed and desecrated by Arabs when the IDF left - and yet the Arabs have free reign and the laws of "freedom of worship" apply for them? How is that fair? How is that just? I'm sure that if their were "security threats" against Arabs trying to visit their holy places, the authorities would act to neutralise those threats and allow the Arabs "freedom of worship," and many of you - e.g. number 1 - would applaud their "determination in securing their rights of worship!" Why is it always the Jewish People who must compromise? Why can WE not have freedom of worship in our own Land!? Why must WE allow our synagogues to be torched in Yerushalayim (or did you not hear about that yesterday?), but keep quiet? Why should WE be blocked from visiting our Holy places, and expected to just keep quiet about it? What about OUR rights?
Ari   (06.29.06)
11. Fanatic Jewish Hamas
Israel should fight these fanatic pigs. they reoresent terror and hatred. they are the Jewish Hamas. Enough of this non-sense, get a life people....!!!!!!
Moshe ,   Tel-Aviv   (06.29.06)
12. Why is this being publiziced?
I realize it's really important for Ynet to bash religious Jews at every opportunity, but this is just alerting terrorists that there are unprotected Jews in their midst.
Blue Pinky   (06.29.06)
13. Reply To Moshe, # 11
Moshe, how can you call these young men such cruel, abusive names? Why are you so angry at your own people? You have every right to have your own opinions regarding their visits to Josephs tomb, but such agressive hatred is surely unwarranted. Do you feel such vehement anger towards religious Muslims who want to make Tel Aviv part of " Palestine " and either forcibly convert you or subject you to to a very unpleasant life as a dhimmi?
Bat Kohen ,   USA   (06.29.06)
14. #11Why so much hate??
Switzerland   (06.29.06)
15. Moshe #11 - fanatic Hamas?
Why do you call them fanatic Jewish Hamas? Just because they want to pray? They are not trying to throw anyone outr of their homes or land. They simply want the right to pray. Just like Israel affords to any Arab and Christian in any place they call holy, Israel should afford jews the right to pray in places that are holy in our tradition. What about that makes them terrorists and Jewish Hamas?
Rafi ,   Bet Shemesh, Israel   (06.29.06)
16. Reply to number 11
How dare you call these Charedim pigs? You are obviously so devoid of Jewish feeling and quite ignorant of Jewish history and the meaning of what Yosef Hatzadik has been throught our (maybe not your) history. You also obviousvly do not remember when the Arab terrorists took over and desecrated the tomb of Joseph, tearing and defiling our (maybe not your) holy books and Torah scrolls. Zechor! Can you imagine if Jewish people would have descrated a tomb of an Arab leader of Islam? I am sure this would cause you a great deal of grief. Instead of criticising these Charedim, you should understand that we (maybe not you) Jews have a glorious future because we have had a rich and glorious past. The links we have with our ancestors are the links we have to our survival. We have the right and the obligation to visit all of our holy places. Don't you ever forget it!
MIK ,   Stamford, CT   (06.29.06)
17. Tikun haKlali...
...has not been written by rabbi Nahman. They are 10 psalms written by king David and selected by rabbi Nahman as a "general remedy". By the way, kavod lehaverim. We should not give up our holy sites and only a physical presence, either legal or not, will save us from loosing them.
Ezra ,   Canada   (06.30.06)
18. It is sad not to be able to freely visit our own holy sites.
keren ,   sao paulo   (06.30.06)
19. #11 get a grip
What is your freaking problem? These guys are hurting no one. They have not kidnapped anyone, they have not beheaded anyone, they have destroyed nothing. All they want to do is pray. Save your rage for the fanatic pigs who murdered liyahu Asheri and have probably also already murdered Gilad Shalit.
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (06.30.06)
20. What is more appalling?
I don't know what is even more appalling - Islamic/Palestinian deseceration & destruction of sites which are holy to other faiths or a "Jewish" government's refusal to protect Jewish holy sites along with their refusal to protect the rights of Jews to freely worship there? Or morally devoid Shenkinians who compare Jews to blood thristy Hamas terrorists for simply trying to exercise this right?
Leo ,   oz   (06.30.06)
21. G-d gave this land to the JEWS, take it back.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Santa Monica, CA   (06.30.06)
22. Breslov
Isiaah chapter6 is very specific on our blindness--- why dont they(Breslovim and Am Israel)) honour the Greater Joseph : Massiach Yeshua ,alive and risen =the same story, but the REAL one : the 'LIE' persists,JOSEPH is NOT dead......
Aharon ,   Jerusalem,Israel   (06.30.06)
