Do something now! Talk less & carry a heavy stick. Don't wait any longer.
2. Why An Exist Strategy?
Dave Levi ,   Burbank. USA   (07.02.06)
There have been some minor protests at the PM office in Israel against this latest Israeli action. In Iran, the "Jewish" community also takes exception (for what that is worth-are they trying to save their own skins?). Also, some in the media and elsewhere are asking what the exit strategy is? I ask, why worry now? Who cares...the IDF can simply remove it's tanks and troops a few km into Israel, and stop any other activity. That's the exist. What is the problem? Its obvious that what is being asked is, what is future policy? In the M.E., that's impossible to answer..everything is so fluid. Iraq is still up for grabs, and Iran WILL be testing an atomic bomb. So how can Israel say today what the future holds. In the meantime, securing buffer zones in Gaza, delaying the "convergence" and getting that soldier back, are the goals. I mean, can anyone predict the future of the two Koreas? Some things are best left for the future. Maybe the weather will dictate what Israel does, who knows?
3. Livni is right and Peretz is a moron
howard ,   pacific coast, usa   (07.02.06)
Livni seems to have a grasp on what needs to be said. Peretz needs to STFU. He's an amateur, it shows, and he's NOT HELPING.

Alan ,   SA   (07.02.06)
and somehow transported back to the Taliban Mountains in Afghanistan.... would UK release all the terrorists now in UK prisons including the 16 year old "child" who appeared in the Old Bailley on Friday on a terrorism charge AS WELL AS prisoners it has in Afghanistan??? Please help me with this question
7. The Prisoner
Gulli ,   Iceland   (07.02.06)
I do hope the Palestinians kill the prisoner, thats the least they can do to you after all the killings and razing you Israels have done the past days. And be sure, one day the rest of Europe will have enough and they will take action.
8. Best Solution
Don McIntyre ,   Dallas, Texas USA   (07.02.06)
Tell the heathens that you have a bomb in the center of the Dome of the Rock that is set to go off in 24 hours. All gold retrieved will be kept as will the land. That soldier will be back in short order.
9. Well, England does not occupy the West bank and Ejerusalem
Kamal ,   haifa   (07.02.06)
10. Kol ha'kavod --- the government of Israel....
Andy   (07.02.06)
is right on target with the response to Hamas. PM Olmert knows what he is doing: balancing diplomacy, force and PR. Keep up the good work. The house of Israel is united behind you.
11. #9
Grootkak ,   South Africa   (07.02.06)
It could be argued , if you are that way enclined , that England is still occupying Northern Ireland, hmm some would say Scotland, the Argentenians would argue The Falklands.. needless to say the colonisation during histories gone by. An act of kidnapping is an act of war, if the government of that country's name is on the forces doing the kidnapping - that is a certain declaration of war. Allbeit, they have been involved indirectly for quite some time already. Declaring war and then calling the enemy cowards when they respond is ironical.
12. To #7 (Gulli)
Dave ,   California, US   (07.02.06)
Frankly, I hadn't even thought about Iceland since you ridiculous people offered sanctuary to Bobby Fisher. Thanks for your ignorant remark, reminding us all why your country is nothing more than an irrelevant footnote in the world community of nations. Now, go back to murdering some whales!
13. Peretz, Olmert and Peres, get lost. Your time is up.
Jay N. ,   Jerusalem   (07.02.06)
14. Gulli from Iceland hopes the Pals kill the prisoner - #7
Kate ,   London, UK   (07.02.06)
"I do hope the Palestinians kill the prisoner" Given Iceland's long history of vicious anti-Semitism who can be surprised by this piece of ugly bigotry? However, the very next time Reykjavik is threatened with total destruction by a volcano don't expect much sympathy from these quarters. "And be sure, one day the rest of Europe will have enough and they will take action." The murder of 6 million Jews wasn't enough? You want them to finish the job? Not that any European takes any notice of the land that time forgot - Iceland.
15. Peretz & Olmert will do nothing
Marcel ,   Florida   (07.02.06)
He keeps repeating the same empty words and never backs it up .Hitting an empty building at night with two firecrackers is the response of weak Jewish leaders capitulating to world pressure to protect the terrorists. The world restrains Israel and it is so easy to do because they have become sissey's little girls. The US.,U.N. and E.U. would never tolerate a strong Israeli leaders who would completelt crush the growing Palestinian threat ,and this is why feeble Olmert is acceptable to them .He will only do what he is told to do and that is ,Do just enough to make Israeli's think you are doning something . This is why Peretz says the same lies again and again. They will do nothing. The Kadima party is the party of bringing Israel forward to it's final solution end planned by the Quartet
16. Re: "England does not occupy" etc. - #9
Kate ,   London, UK   (07.02.06)
"Well, England does not occupy the West bank and Ejerusalem" No, it occupies Iraq, Afghanistan, Gibraltar, Ireland and the Falkland Islands.
17. Gulli Iceland
(07.02.06)
US Airforce is defending your worthless island while you keep murdering whales there! Stop murdering Whales!
18. olmert leadership
alex ,   canada   (07.02.06)
For months, I have pointed out among others that Olmert is not fit to lead israel in crisis notwithstanding his advisors. Sharon would have grabbed the entire Hamas leadership, set Gaza in flames through pounding . Only when Gazans have had enough, will they release Shalit. If they kill him, then burn Gaza to the ground.
19. Transfer
Bennett ,   St. Petersburg   (07.02.06)
A child could devise a solution to the Palistinian problem. Palistinians will never live peacefully. There will always be a few terrorists that will either keep it going or get it going yet again. The cycle must be broken. Just shooting from the hip I would say give plenty of notice, offer significant compensation, then later cut off the electric, then the water. Once palistinians have decided whether to leave and accept with diginty the help of Israel and possibly the world to relocate to a nice new area free of israels to hate or choosen to stay and be leveled beneith the sand with the rest of gaza, start burning the place to the ground from one end to the other. Then bring in the buldozers and level everything. Plant lots of beautiful trees. Maybe even send financial aid to the new palistinian community. I know this has logistical problems, but who can honestly say that there will ever be peace between Israel and Palistinians. Moledet offers a humane plan which does not physially remove the palistinians, just transfer their citizinship to Jordan. I believe the solution lies in ideas such as these.
