Iranian Jews oppose Gaza operation    Dudi Cohen
1. Scared
There wouldn't be one Jew living in Iran if they didn't condem it. Poor people.
Talula ,   Israel   (07.02.06)
2. understandable
poor iranian dhimmi slaves have to obey thank hashem we have Eretz Israel
Jerry ,   Den Haag / NL   (07.02.06)
3. And no one pressed them to say that? Riiiiiiighhhtttt.
(07.02.06)
4. Should We Be Surprised?
After all, what choice do they have since that fanatic regime has this nasty habit of putting Jews on trial on trumped up charges of being Israeli spies. If I were a Jew living in Iran, I would damned well make sure not to cross the ayatollahs if I liked having my head where it's supposed to be...attached to my body.
NYC Girl   (07.02.06)
5. Something is Wrong Here
Seems like they have paid off or bullied someone to say this. Or they are just afraid.
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (07.02.06)
6. Try condemning treatment of Azeris, Arabs, Bahais...
and other non-Shiite-Persian minorities by the Iranian government and see where that lands you .... Nah. I'm glad the Iranians haven't murdered their Jews yet. I hope these cousins survive. I am not going to blame them for their inane statements, given that they are in a very perilous place right now. The signs are there. You only have to look back at our history to see that once governments start hallucinating that Jews are the root of all evil, they eventually tries to wipe us out. And Iran is well along that road.
howard ,   pacific coast, usa   (07.02.06)
7. And all this said while a gun was pointed @
their kids heads..
DANNY ,   America   (07.02.06)
8. Simply pathetic.....
Andy   (07.02.06)
9. More arab propaganda!!!!!!
Folks, do not believe this crap, is just another propaganda from iran, I know people who still have family there and when they talk about Israel is a very diferent picture than what you get here. Many of them wish to get out of iran but are held back because of threats to business and families.
Uzi ,   Beit Shemesh   (07.02.06)
10. Iranina jews are not afraid
I am an iranian jew wh left Iran 30 years ago but still have regular contact with many iranina jews inside iran. I can say that the majority of the 30,000 jews living in iran are happy and not afraid to speak their mind. They don't support Israel and feel it is bad for the jews because it is a european secular colonial creation that doesn't uphold the true values of the Torah. If remaing Iranian jews were not happy, why not immigrate? they can do so if they want as did hundreds of thousands before. I say to Israel, Leave iranian jews alone.
Yehuda ,   UK   (07.02.06)
11. Who cares what dhimmi's say ?
Marcel ,   Florida   (07.02.06)
12. Sounds more like a quote from Olmert... not a regular Jew.
Jeremiah ,   Israel   (07.02.06)
13. Duress
The dictionary defines "duress" as "constraint by threat or coercion." A second definition could be "a threat that causes Jewish 'leaders' in Iran to agree completely with their Ayatollah patrons." Do we need to guess what their views are also on the holocaust?
Dan ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (07.02.06)
14. a word from Hitler the second's captives
With a "gun" to their community's head, and the threat of harm, what could one expect.
Toronto1 ,   Toronto, Canada   (07.02.06)
15. and the holocaust denial...
These are the same Iranian Jews who confront their President's holocauts denial with total and utter silence??
Rysk ,   Tel Aviv   (07.02.06)
16. This is a non-issue
They know that the world knows that what they say is said under duress. I see no problem with this as it doesn’t involve denial of Hashem or sexual immorality. The final statement lets us know they still keep kosher!
Edwin   (07.02.06)
17. Decline and fall of a once great community
When I visited Iran almost 30 years ago, the Shah was still in power, and the Jewish community, whose origins go back some 2,500 years, was estimated at 75-100,000. It was the last still vibrant Jewish community in the Islamic world, with its members active in commerce, the professions, and skilled arts. I was privileged to spend Sukkot and Simhat Torah with them. It was also not unusual to come across some of the hundreds of Israeli advisers and engineers helping modernize the country. Then came Khomeni and his fellow fundamentalists. The Israelis had to flee, many Jews were arrested for "Zionist activities", a few were executed. Many already abroad, or able to leave, never returned. Those remaining, estimated around 25,000, must toe a careful line just to survive. Statements supporting the Iranian position such as those reported here should be taken with a grain of salt. But the rule of the mullahs will end one day (may it come speedily and in our days). There's a strong, pro-Western undercurrent in Iran, especially among the young, and they, together with others chafing under the Islamic yoke, will help return Iran to the community of civilized nations. The country has great potential. When that day comes, the Jewish community will rise again.

18. #10
I know many Iranian Jews and they told me something else. I have a few in my family mister!! They told me the Iranian people are nice and they love to go back to visit but are AFFRAID! Why do you think? And if all was so good there why are you ' Iranian Jew' doing in England? You sound like an Arab and not a Jew, no Jew would use the words "an European secondar creation" Go and try to fool you bro's in engalnd, they take your as cookies.
Linda   (07.02.06)
19. The Soviet Union's Jews also "Condemned" Israel
In 1967, in 1973, in 1976 when we carried out operation Yonatan, in 1982... Thats what happens when you live in a dark totalitarian state.
Caligula's Horse ,   Solomon's Stables   (07.02.06)
20. Iranian Jews must have been already brainwashed
sounds familiar to Hitler times - thinking it saves their sorry little lives cowards - leave Iran get out - as the ones with brains did - example Israel's President - and Mofaz - !!! or convert and pay lipservice to the Mullahs - - but shut up - to think you are giving good advise from Iran - verstunkenes volk
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (07.02.06)
21. 15 Rysk: Exactly you said it - and even those who are free
to speak under pseudos - etc-- are still supporting Iran as being right They should convert I saw a bunch of them on Swiss TV - and there was NO threat to them I also saw some who actually reported their own - and called the police on them we saw on TV - then the TV went silent - You can imagine what they faced - and their own - reported them There was an entire programm about it SICK
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (07.02.06)
22. 16 Edwin: you are naive: many are speaking up
and there is NO duress - in covert TV shows - and They support Iran and the Mullahs -
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (07.02.06)
23. Why the fakestinians living in Israel don´t show
the same kind of "support" and because of the same "reasons" than the jews of Iran? It is about time...
Uzziel   (07.02.06)
24. Appears like a staged and scripted production to me.
Dr Rick ,   USA   (07.02.06)
25. Why does ynet report it as a legitimate news.
Does anybody believe that those people are free of fear right now? They are hostages under tremendous psychological pressure and fear for themselves and their families. Under those circumstances we cannot judge those people, but neither can be take at the face value anything they say. But it is extremely irresponsible of this paper to simply report their statements without clarifying their status and conditions. By the way, note how the spokesman evaded the question about the interactin between Jews and Muslim in the last paragraph.
AK   (07.02.06)
26. LET MY PEOPLE GO!!!
We need to get the remnants of the Iranian Jews out of Iran! This is not news- LET MY PEOPLE GO!
Dwolf ,   San Jose, CA   (07.02.06)
27. 26 Dwolf , San Jose: That's what the Swiss TV show was
all about - and They don't want to go there are many who actually support the Iranian Mullahs
Gabrielle Goldwater ,   Geneva Switzerland   (07.02.06)
28. Crimes of the Iranian Regime
Add this coerced farce of a statement to the crimes of the Mullahs. They are so tone-deaf that they can't even produce a statement that sounds like one that a Jewish leader would say. I have always considered myself as a man of the left and one who wishes the Israeli government would work harder and more sincerely for peace. But when junk like this "statement" appear it becomes increasingly hard to hold to these convictions. Letting these bullies have nuclear weapons would be a science fiction level nightmare.
The Golem ,   Los Angeles   (07.02.06)
29. Never let them make allyah!
If the mullahs in iran persecute them,I will send a thank you note. This is real spineless ghetto mentality.
jason white ,   afula,israel   (07.02.06)
30. I say to Yehuda, UK...
