Netanyahu: Yoni's death changed my life's course    Ilan Marciano
1. Yoni was the prime minister is israel never had...
(07.04.06)
2. Yoni in his own words.
As you no doubt know from reading the papers, the situation in Israel is, in a word — catastrophic! Not a day passes, literally, without a border incident, sabotage, mine explosion, murder, ambushes, shootings and setting fire to fields. During all the years of my service and of my living here the situation has never been so tense. In the army, everyone is impatient — when are we finally going to strike back?!! We have complete confidence in our strength. We are capable of anything. (October 1966)

3. More Yoni quotes.
Death — that's the only thing that disturbs me. It doesn't frighten me; it arouses my curiosity. It is a puzzle that I, like many others, have tried to solve without success. I do not fear it because I attribute little value to a life without a purpose. And if I should have to sacrifice my life to attain its goal, I'll do so willingly. (At age 17)

4. The wrong Netanyahu became Prime Minister.

6. Has Israel Grown Soft?
Let's face it, the days of the pioneering spirit in Israel have long since disappeared. I look at advertisements in various Israeli an American Jewish papers, displaying fancy (and expensive) condominiums. Malls are almost as abundant in Israel as here in So. California. The lavish lifestyle is the "in" thing in Israel, at least for those who can afford it. While unemployment is high, Israel still gives unemployment to foreigners. Arab labor is cheap (er) than Jewish. In 73, Israelis were sunning themselves, as were Egyptian soldiers..except. Israel MUST be a garrison state to survive. Diarpora Jewry is needed more than ever, but not fooled into thinking it will be easy. Israel has finally gotten the message, that it is in a war for it's survival. This is not about Hamas or Abbas...it's about Syrian missiles, Hezbollah and Iranian nukes.

7. Hello, Dave #6
Is this Dave of Burbank? The same Dave who last week advocated invading Canada and beating the tar out of the locals? Now this tough-talking, Jingoistic Dave is accusing Israel of having lost the pioneering sprit and wonders if they haven’t grown soft. I bet you must be tough! Or, are you a little squirt mouthing off behind your computer monitor?

8. Bibi; we are all proud of Yoni
Yoni was loved by everyone that knew him.

9. Yoni
My son was born in 1996, 20 years after entebbe and my wife and I decided to name him Yoni, I wrote to Bibi to tell him this and that we were sure that we would be as proud of him, as he was of his borther. Bibi wrote back, with a signed card wishing us Mazal Tov, from Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of the State of Israel.

10. Yoni's death changed my life?
What? Before Yoni died, Bibi was a human being?
Avi Tuchmayer ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.05.06)
11. The French Connection
Another similarity is that the plane in Entebbe was Air France, and now a French citizen is held hostage. The French reaction is typical of them - wave the white flag in the vain hope the Arabs will buy into the impression they are on their side and hence not blow up the Paris metro.
Larry ,   Israel/USA   (07.05.06)
12. Inspired
I am an Indian. In my childhood I heard aboit the Entebbe incident from my father. Later I got the book "90 minutes at Entebbe". I was inspired then and I still am by the great courageous act of the team. I felt sad when I read the part where Yoni was shot. I listened with respect when Bibi Net. gave a speech on the land promised by God where he quoted the scriptures. Do not yield to the Arabs or they will swallow you up. I know them because I worked in Saudi Arabia. May God help you. The state of Israel is in my prayers. Jesus loves you.

13. Yoni.
Although it was many years ago when this man was lost to the world, and I do not speak Hebrew. listening to his brother, Bibi, I could almost hear the heartbreak in his voice as he spoke of him. It was unspeakably poignant. I'm so terribly sorry for this family. God Bless.

14. Entebbe
Israel has so much to be proud about, but the one matter that will always stand out in my mind was their miraculous achievement with the raid on Entebbe. This great accomplishment proved once again, no matter how deep the hatred and vile contempt dictators and leaders of countries have toward the Jewish people, we will survive!!!!!!!!!!!!!

15. the change in Bibi? used his bro's heroism as his own!

18. Entebbe
"We need military resourcefulness, creative operational thinking, and, most importantly, confidence in ourselves and faith that we are able to plan and do anything from anywhere, even far away on the horizon." But most of all faith and obedience to Ha-Shem who guides us all in our lives on earth. His Will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Amen.
