1. That is actually ia good idea
Benajmin ,   TA Israel   (07.10.06)
The Better Israely Arabs live, the less inclined they would be to lose their living standarts in riots, bombing, knife attacks and assisting Palestinians. Also It would make a good example for Palestinians how could they live if stop attack Israel. If worst come to worst benefits always could be taken away.
2. The Palestinians should learn from the Israeli Arabs
Ron ,   Haifa   (07.10.06)
See, maybe if the Palestinians stopped shooting at us we'd invest in them too....re-open the casino, rebuild their infrastructure, wouldn't everyone be bettter off?
3. give them nothing of sort!
(07.10.06)
4. #1 Arafat/Osama were Billionaires
(07.10.06)
Think about that for a second, were they less inclined to kill non Moslems? It has NOTHING to do with money and you cant trade pride and theology with money and "education". It is not the beggers and poor famalies that make the big terrorists its the rich educated ones. PS: The High Court/Kadima are digging their own graves
5. Investing in the people
Moe Chile ,   London, Canada   (07.10.06)
This is wonderful news! I should add that investing in people and their livelihoods will do more to improve relations between the different segments of society. I look forward to more news of this nature in the future. Kol haKavod!!
6. more?
linda   (07.10.06)
Let them first be loyal to israel before getting more than the rest of israeli's.
7. Not a bad start
Jimmy ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.10.06)
But what about the unrecognized villages? When will they be given priority status or say, hooked up to the national electric infrastructure?
8. This is an investment in Medinat Yisrael
howard ,   pacific coast, usa   (07.11.06)
This seems like a good idea. The communities are part of Israel & should be integrated more closely with the rest of Israeli society. These are the strangers in our midst. Not all of them are hostile, and we owe it to the ones who are NOT our enemies to treat every individual and every town fairly. The people who live in these communities are full Israeli citizens. It is in Israel's interest to be fair to them and to address their needs as citizens. It is NOT in Israel's interest to perpetuate unnecessary grievances, even if the concern about loyalty is rational in many cases. Instead, focus on making sure that the next generation sees opportunities rather than obstacles within the Israeli miracle. That will make Israel stronger, whereas the alternative weakens Israel.
9. Israeli Arab identity - a thought
howard ,   pacific coast, usa   (07.11.06)
Israel rarely seems to make an effort to highlight the "Israeli Arab" identity -- e.g. the things about Israeli Arabs that are unique, interesting, special and different from Arabs elsewhere (including Palestinians). In contrast, the PA continually tries to DENY Israeli Arabs their unique identity and continually reinforces its rather arrogant claim that Israeli Arabs HAVE no unique strengths and that they are nothing more than Palestinians living inside the green line.
10. What about something in return?
Daniel ,   Israel   (07.11.06)
What about some Arab integration and loyalty towards Israel in return?
