Hits the nail on the head But I think everyone else is too wrapped up in the headlines to comment You know, it sucks for the Left but George Bush was right - Axis of Evil is real
2. Pure Double Standards
M Omega A M ,   NY USA   (07.12.06)
It is understandable to be in your shoes when there are enemies surrounding you. But, Israel must understand that eye for an eye tactics don't work. It used to work in the ancient world, but in the modern world there are limitations. It is time for Israel to act first to remove its WMDs to convince the Middle East (Iran) to do the same. Otherwise, Israel is asking for annihilation for no reason. Iran and the Jews have coexisted for 5000 years. So don't me the double standards. Israel owes a favor to Iran for its existence.
3. Iran is a Shoo In
Dave Levi ,   Burbank. USA   (07.12.06)
A prediction: Iran will test a nuclear bomb within 3 years, maybe sooner. Another prediction: nothing will be done to deter this event, which, in my opinion, will change the world forever. Israel will immediately be hit with 2-3 nukes...as soon as they are loaded onto the Shihab Missiles. The justification...the "occupation" of Arab lands and Israel's abuse of the Palestinian people. Look at it this way, Hezbollah, a criminal and illegal organization, outlawed by the US and the UN, is thumbing it's nose at all peace efforts in the area. It wants to provoke a wider war with the Jewish state...it feels it has nothing to lose. The US is impotent, and Israel is chicken to do anything substantive, against either Iran, Syria, the Palestinians or Lebanon. So what is there to lose? Time is on the side of the Muslims....the only question is, when will they attack the NY subway system?
4. Missed the point
Steve ,   USA   (07.12.06)
B"H Now that North Korea's missile threat turned out to be a dud, President Bush is offering cosolation direct talks. You missed the point. I see the President's timing and strategy as wise in this matter. PROUD TO POST AN ANONYMOUS POST:) And one other thing. On that legislation proposed to require email addresses which require house addresses to obtain, does that mean that the homeless do not have any access to freedom of speech? For all those "poor" with no recognized street address, I am concerned that their rights are proposed to be stripped altogether.

7. M Omega A M: An Eye for an Eye Is Still the Name of the Game
CHGODMK   (07.13.06)
Don't think that Iran will sacrifice its nuclear ambitions if Israel gave up its nuclear arsenal. That foolish thinking will only lead to a scenario in which Iran can intimidate Israel freely, because it will have the nuclear edge. Ahmadinejad's statements are clear but nothing new. The Muslim nations have long vowed to destroy the Jewish state and they mean it. They have invaded Israel several times, and have promoted terrorism against its civilians. In this case, you protect yourself because your neighbors are enemies obsessed with causing your destruction. The only double standard here concerns people like you, who demand that Israel lie defenseless in the face of an existential threat.

So true!. The Western World is 2 concerned with "political correctness". People never learn from history. And sooner or later we will have to face the consequences of our NO-ACTION.
9. N. Korea/Iran
Gregdn ,   Los Angeles USA   (07.13.06)
You want the U.S. to assasinate a legitimate ruler of another country? We're already losing two wars. Don't get us involved in another.
10. Burning out of control

The Palestinians, having taken Israel's leaders by surprise, are putting up a good fight this time. The longer this fighting continues, the more likely other Arabs countries become to join in, thinking the Palestinians may win. This could be the spark that lights a regional conflagration. But Israel's leaders just don't get it. They're too busy worrying about what the French will say.
11. Its a big game
Faisal ,   Hyderabad , India   (07.23.06)
The war in middle east is really to change the mindset of the world powers regarding Iran Nuclear Problem . Iran is really playing the game nicely , Hizbullah are really working for Iran's game plan and i do think its a big trap for Israel and USA . If Israel open a third front and attack Syria , Iran will jump up too in this war and the Nuclear problem will be in back place and May be Iran is already having Nukes from Russia or China . I do think in real again the cold war started .. Pro Americans nations on one side and on another side Pro Russia and China nations. And the whole world knows this Iran,North Korea and Syria comes in Russian and Chinese block where as Israel in American block. In real its a war of BIG powers on which Stupid nations dance .
12. IRAN is a Shoo In.
Geekster ,   LA, CA   (08.13.06)
Prediction: Something nuclear will go off in Iran alright. It will be an "accident" with their own, (or North Korea's ) uranium isotope. Set off by Israeli agents who have infiltrated the Iranian nuclear research groups.
