Minister Peretz is a man of peace, but when attacked, he knows how to defend Israel. My total support goes to Israel and especially to it's Minister of Defence.

Nice to know your humour outshines your intellect, do you suggest that tourists have their vacations in Israel......enlighten me, how many foreign tourists will now enjoy the fine fruits Israel has to offer, I assume not many after this latest episode. It helps no one ....but you already knew that.
Doctor Smith ,   Sydney   (07.13.06)
8. An observation
Peretz was prepared to give the terrorists just about evrything they wanted. They, as always, turned around and bit him in the butt. Even he has had to admit that the only way to treat muHAMedans is through force. Kol hakavod
Arie   (07.13.06)
9. What does he mean?
"Defense Minister Amir Peretz said Thursday morning that 'we consider Lebanon responsible for terror activity originating in its sovereign territory.'" Does this remark mean that Peretz intends to defeat Lebanon and so spare Israelis further attacks? Or does it simply mean that he intends to show them a thing or two?

10. Doctor Smith , Sydney
Dear Dr. Smith Nice to know you are a Doctor. Israel has the toursism it needs, the jewish people wont stop travelling, there - we dont scare easily. By the way - are you a doctor of history? coz if you are, perhaps you would have leant all about how the chances are very real that you are the son or grandson of british criminal sent to australian, basically, a crook. Find out, it may be really interesting to know. By the way, will you be staying 1 or 2 weeks?

What slander, again your intelligence amazes me. I live in Sydney and you assume I from British decent.... for the record I'm not and how quickly one becomes racist.. If your assumptions were as exeptional as your logic, maybe you could put up something intelligent to say, otherwise, don't. By the way, Israel had tourist numbers plunge to record lows in 2002 during the second intifada, so don't tell me Jews are not easily scared!! You really highlight how little you know, maybe history ain't your strong point, stick to comedy or join a circus!!
Dr Smith ,   Sydney   (07.13.06)
13. to the doctor, ...
to the doctor, you know, the one who obvioulsy has no patients. I am in Israel now, and you wouldnt know theres a war on. Every hotel is packed, full of tourists, jews walking around, enjoying themselves, we are not worried, and yes, we dont scare easily, perhaps the yanks dont like too much trouble, but, we europeans love it here. And unless you are some soppy Arab import ozzie, yes, you are the product of criminal activity.

Mister, My english is poor, but, my question is - what do you suggest my government do to stop them shelling? I am 30, I have 2 twins and I live in Naharyia, and today I have to go to Haifa to get away from the constant shelling from the north, but we are used to it, today its more. We leave Lebanin years ago now but we STILL are constantly under attack from there. Then they decide to enter Israel and kidnapp 2 of our soldiers. One of these soldiers os from my town of Nahariya. Lebanon allows Hisbollah to do what they like. If I come to Australia and set up an army in New South Wales, its ok?? Dont we have right to try to persuade Lebanese public opinion against their governments harbouring of the Hisbollah? We israeli, we teach our children many things, but never terror, killing infact yesterday i complete my daughter assignment with her on islam, and we needed to write about the culture, the food, the clothes, medicine, etc... On the other hand, the books of palestinain children, are full of hate and terror, teaching of how to kill and how to hate us. This is not in our instict. I am married in israel, and 25% of my guests are arabs from the neigbourhood. Did you know that thes arabs are the only arab in Mid East living in the democracy? We are kinder to arabs than any other arab country is to their own people. Right now, you will find in the Israel Syria border, arabs who lived in Syria pre 1967, are terrified that syria may take back this land, because the want to live in israel. they want to be free. Please, go there and ask them. You see, we only want peacefull life. Doctor, if you are a doctor, i want you understan, Israel cannot afford to lose just one war. If we lose, we are finished. We are surrounded by 800,Million arab and in 10 years it will be 1Billion, so excuse us if we are a little nevous. Thank you

20. Dr. Smith
It is nice to create an unofficial title for yourself in cyber-space huh? I have lived in Israel for 2 years, didn't immigrate, not Jewish. Tourists don't see the fighting, that's why the terrorists try soooo hard to get to Jerusalem and Tel-Aviv. Hence the Wall which I fully support. Arabs in Israel and West Bank have the absolute highest quality of living then in any other Arab Country period. Gaza, they could have done more to help themselves, but put their resorces into trying to attack Israel, a problem with the Hamas election. Tourism is still very plentiful, sorry to put your remarks down the drain. Furgus McConnely Non-Zionist Christian
Peter Mcconnely ,   Glascow   (07.13.06)
21. Precedent
Israel must set a strong precedent for what happens when a kidnapping, or incursion occurs on its soil. Israel has every right to bring Lebanon to its knees.

23. Etty and the Aussie haters
First off, stop dissing on Aussies, please. I've hung out with many an Aussie, and they're all really cool. I'm not even such a fan of Foster's, no offense, doc. Second, Etty.....these strikes on Lebanon won't turn public opinion away from Hezbollah. Here in the US, 9/11 made everybody unite behind Bush and US foreign policy. I think that US foreign policy tends to be more justified than Hezbollah foreign policy, but our support for foreign policy had nothing to do with its logic, humanity, or justifications. We were attacked, purportedly for our foreign policy, so we rushed to demonstrate to both ourselves and others why we were more moral/ethical than our attackers. The Lebanese will do the same. They know that they are under attack because of Hezbollah's dominance in their country. Regardless of the lack of logic behind Hezbollah's actions, and the savagery of the terrorism that Hezbollah both supports and executes on its own, the Lebanese people will rush to show that Hezbollah's cause is more just than that of Israel.
Joe ,   Brooklyn, NY   (07.13.06)
24. Let's unite for a change - pray for both IDF and Peretz
This is why we have the problems that we do. Our enemies are attacking us with bombs, kidnappings and rockets, and here we are calling each other nasty, childish names. Whatever has gone wrong went wrong a while ago, and started on Sharon's watch, if not even sooner. Let's stop helping our enemies. Let's get together, support Olmert and Peretz now while the war is on. Later, when there are not so many lives at stake, then we can start arguing again. Let's have some national unity for a change. After all, Hizbullah isn't talking "leftists" or "Likudniks." Nasrallah is just saying "Jews." - and that's us, all of us.

25. Fungus McConnely or is it Peter,
Fungus McConnely or is it Peter, My apologies for my unofficial title, to suggest one creates something like that only highlights ones inferiority complex. If you took note of all my comments you would learn that my argument is not about quality of living, walls or Hamas. Its about tourism....and how this event will deter tourists from coming to the middle east (i.e Lebanon and Israel) and it is backed up by fact. Yet I have individuals like yourself who distort the issue with nonsense and who refuse to look at fact, thinking they know better. Fact is you don't, so like the other clown, if you don't have anything that remotely draws on intellect, don't say it.

Again what slander, another intellectual who assumes I am some soppy Arab import ozzie, and product of criminal activity. Again I am neither. What is it with individuals who can't initiate nor sustain an intellectual argument, that they have to retort with racial taunts. Are you Jewish? Does this suggest something deep within the Jewish psyche? If you could answer these questions, it would be appreciated. Yes there may be lots of tourists at present, this event has just started. If it escalates, and chances it has, will tourists still pour in, I doubt it. If the situation emulates that of 2000, and the second intifada, would they still pour in, I extremely doubt it. Maybe you should check yourself in, racisim my be contagious.
