Exactly what is a proportionate response after hundreds of missles have been fired on Israel and enemy forces infiltrated Israel's border and killed and kidnapped soldiers? What is the proportionate response to governments such as Lebanon that refuse to control Hezbollah and the Palestinian Authority/Hamas government that has refused to stop terror against Israel? Would it have been a proportionate response if Israel lynched Arab prisoners in response to the lynching of 2 Israelis in Ramallah? Would it have been a proportionate response for the US to behead an Arab journalist in response to the horrific beheading of Daniel Pearl? Can you imagine Word War II fought using proportionate responses? If that were the case, once the Americans killed 3000 Japanese sailors and sunk battleships, the war would have been over. Since no aircraft carriers were sunk at Pearl Harbor, America would have been forbidden to sink Japanese aircraft carriers. In truth, the term proportionate response means not fighting to win and thus prolonging the conflict. France is very good at that. All those talkbacks are so hainous that it only confirm one thing for me as jewish and french. I am still aslo proud to be french ! In the same way I still love USA or Israel for many things I saw there.
