32. Number 27:
You stated the following:
"No, Israel need to show decent Lebanese that it is Hizbollah, Syria, and whatever Lebanese support them that are the culprits."
NO! The Lebanese government needs to show the world they are leaders, not mindless incubators of terror. When that happens, Israel will welcome them with open arms.
We see Egypt has gotten off scott free by turning a blind eye to tunnels dug from their country to gaza in order to smuggle weapons which slaughter Jews.
Then their is Abu Mazen who has done nothing to squash terror.
One can not have phony democracy shoved down their throats by the powers that be unless they themselves take the proper steps to deserve and honor what democracy is truly about. In the end, no matter how much Israel gives or how the world feels Israel should exercise restraint will not amount to anything unless they have real partners in which to make peace.
If we continue to overlook and whitewash the real culprits in this situation there will never be peace. If the powers that be continue to lie those that have the obligation to really change the climate of peace vs. war there will never be peace.
Bush stated clearly that Israel has the right to defend herself yet he tells Israel they should exercise restraint to make Lebanon look good. Lebanon who has allowed Hizballah to flourish.
Enough PC and game playing.
Enough having Israel who has become the victim be turned any more than it has into the victim.
http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2006/07/20060713-4.html
Rather than state clearly that Lebanon indeed has the obligation to rid itself of terror Bush states otherwise. It is easy to blame this on Syria and Iran but ask yourself what is the clear obligation of Lebanon? Read for yourself.
I say, STOP THE PROTECTING AND WHITEWASHING. DO IT NOW. Do it Mr. President before the dogs bite your hand again.

"Israel need to show decent Lebanese." WRONG-OLA. Israel needs to defend Israelis from their enemies. It isn't Israel's job to educate the Lebanese, and such an effort will do nothing to keep missiles off Israelis' heads.

34. That's supposed to be Olmert's job!
"Lebanon can put a stop to this. " Since when is it Lebanon's job to protect Israelis from attacks by their enemies?

35. "Chrisona," Marcel, etc. Why even pretend to be our friends?
Why do you even bother trying to pretend to be our friends? At this difficult time when Israelis stand together and with one another, friends overseas would stand by us, not attack us from Chicago and Florida. Go to Hell!

36. 'Those who oppressed them were on top.' " (Megillat Eichah)
"Onkelos the son of Kalonykos was a nephew of Titus, and he considered converting to Judaism. He had his uncle raised from the dead by magic and asked him, 'Who is most important in the next world?' Titus answered, 'The Jews are.' Onkelos asked, 'Should I attach myself to them?' Titus responded, 'No! They have too many laws; you wouldn't be able to observe them all. Better to fight against them and be a leader in the world, as it says, 'Those who oppressed them were on top.' " (Megillat Eichah 1:5)
"Titus' nephew asked, 'What is your judgment in the next world?' 'My judgment is what I decreed on myself. Every day I am burnt anew and my ashes are scattered over the seven seas.' "

37. To Irish Guy #6
Well, maybe its time for the Lebanese to stand up on their own two feet and do something to stop Hezbollah from ruining their country.
The real matter is that Israel was attacked over an International Border. An action like this would provoke a very severe response from any country without any criticism. But, when it come to Israel, our response is “excessive”. The UK was NEVER attacked by Saddam Hussein nor by the Taliban and thousands of "innocents" in Iraq and Afghanistan have been killed. I have not heard cries of "excessive force" from the UN or EU. Of course, I forgot, the world still thinks its OK to kill Jews. That is not excessive.
Byt he way, do you really think that the average Lebanese citizen does not know who is behind this? Of course he does but with the murder of Hariri, they are not prepared to take the risks. You sleep with dogs, you get flees. Get into be with terrorists, wakeup with a missile in your living room or even somewhere else.

38. Bush warns Israel to not weaken Lebanon!
Bush should tell Lebanon not to be weak by allowing terrorists in their midst's. This is what weakens the whole of the ME. Having said that it is easier to blame it on Syria and Iran. Not that they are not responsible. However, Lebanon which is supposedly a democracy does nothing without consulting Syria. OH, gee. We should not talk about that. HA HA>

|
39. Hanzala, you don't know the meaning of the word 'fair'
What would be fair is for Israelis to use their entire power and dispatch their enemies, including hizbolah, to Allah, and pronto.

42. I know that Zecharya's prophecy will also be fulfilled.' "
"Another time, the same group of scholars were walking towards Yerushalayim. When they reached Mt. Scopus (from which it is possible to see the Temple Mount), they tore their clothing. When they arrived at the Temple Mount, they saw a fox running out of the area where the Holy of Holies had been. They began to cry, while Rabbi Akiva laughed."
"They said to him, 'Why are you laughing?' "
"He responded, 'Why are you crying?' "
" 'If from the place about which it is written, 'And the stranger who enters there, shall die,' we see a fox coming out, should we not cry?' "
" 'For that very reason, I am laughing. Yeshayahu the Prophet said, 'I will bring two reliable witnesses regarding my People, Uriah the Priest and Zecharya ben Yevarech'yahu. '(Yeshayahu 8:2) Now what do Uriah and Zecharya have to do with each other? Uriah prophesied in the time of the First Temple, and Zecharya in the time of the Second Temple! But the verse in Yeshayahu makes Zecharya's prophecy dependent on Uriah's.' "
" 'In Uriah's case, it is written, 'Therefore, because of you, Zion will be plowed under like a field.' (Michah/Uriah 3:12) In the case of Zecharya, we find, 'Yet again, elderly men and elderly women will sit in the streets of Yerushalayim, (and each will have a staff in his or her hand from great age. And the streets of the city will be full of children, playing in her streets.' - extension of quote) (Zecharya 8:4-(5)) Until I saw the fulfillment of Uriah's prophecy, I had some doubt as to whether Zecharya's prophecy would come true. Now that I have seen Uriah's prophecy fulfilled in full detail, I know that Zecharya's prophecy will also be fulfilled.' "
"Hearing that, Rabbi Akiva's colleagues said to him, 'Akiva, you have comforted us. Akiva, you have comforted us.' "

Thank you for your supportive words to the people of Israel. No one here wants a war, and none of us want innocent civilians to die. The terrorists will never win, no matter what, and their days are numbered now. It's time to put an end to this bloodshed on both sides, once and for all.

44. #27, Irish: But first you've got to win victory.
Israel is yet to be allowed victory in any war they were ingaged in. Every time Israel was seen as close to winning, the powers that be stepped in with UN mandated cease fires to prevent complete victory. The results of this is that the Arabs have been loosing battles, but had never really lost a war, which is still ongoing since 1948.
By the way, Israel has no obligation to show anything to Lebaneze, but the Lebanon, which has Hezbollah as a part of its government, must show good will and desire to live in peace as good neighbors with Israel.

45. Be Strong!
The majority of sane people here support the people of Israel and their struggle. Our media and left wing democrat terrorist sympathizers are weak and dragging our country down. The only thing the enemy will understand is their total defeat......

49. Am I to go to Israel now????
In April I decided to go to the Holy Land.
I'm flying on Tuesday for a 7 days but trip around the country.
The scheule includes Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Nazareth, Tiberias, Lake Tiberias, Dead Sea, Masada.
I was so happy to see all those beautiful and important places.
But now I'm all scared. Half of the trip is going to be close to the war zone (sme places have been bombed already).
If anyone can give me some advice - please write something here, or contact me via e-mail:
lizol1@wp.pl
I can always cancel my trip tommorow, or even just before departure.
It's always better to lose the money, than head.
Regards
Ryszard

50. Justice is for everyone
Dont dare tell me what Israel is doing is fair. 130 CIVILIANS killed, Everyday, pictures parade lifeless bodies of children, woman and tourists. Israel has every right to take back their soldiers, but ripping a country from its roots and calling it 'adequate retaliation' is rubbish. We feel for civilian loss on both sides. Your peoples life is as precious as ours. My sister is there on holiday with her daughter who is 6. She is in Tripoli making her way up north, Tripoli has no Hezbollah headquaters, it is a predominantly Sunni population, like Jounieh, and Akar and most of Northern Lebanon, tell me, what is Israel targeting exactly? Hezbollah, yes, Lebanon, definately!
