Why are they destroying Lebanese infrastructure when the support, supply and incitement for Hezballah is clearly coming from Syria and Iran? Iran is not such a simple matter, but we could easily show the Syrians that we mean business. Why waste all of that good ammunition hitting Lebanese targets when most of the Lebanese actually want to see Hezballah kicked out of their country? I understand hitting transport routes in order to prevent our soldiers being moved from Lebanon (although it's probably too little, too late), and to disrupt Hezballah supply lines, but why go and shake and alienate the Lebanese? Also here in Melbourne this Sunday there will be a rally in support for Israel. We know that Israel will overcome as ALWAYS! They have proven to be superior time and time again. Our prayers are with them.

It is encouraging to read so many messages of folks who stand with Israel in this hour of peril. It is however, very discouraging to read and heard those messages from the UN, the Vatican and the American State Dept condemning Israel and encouraging the forces of evil. Although President Bush reiterated that Israel has the right to defend herself, his message was soon eclipsed by the message from Ms. Rice calling on Israel to restain herself. I did not hear any messages for Hamas or Hezbollah to restrain themselves. Why? Are we chicken, are we afraid of Islam and afraid of what CAIR will do? I can understand the UN--It has always been antisemitic. What's wrong with the pope? Or is it not PC to critisize the pope?

You wish. Isreal gives people reasons to want the state to be dismantled. Isreal does not act with repect, morality and is far from righteuos let alone being right. I have never seen Isreal act with restraint, and they always ensure that they inflict at least three times as many casualties as they recieve in retribution. If Isreal would stop murdering civilians, then I would entertain supporting them, but I can't see it happening.

1. A cease fire must be negotiated, implemented and enforced. Constantly escalating violence, an eye for an eye, etc., must be replaced by restraint and a willingness to attain objectives at the conference table, not the battlefield. 2. Both sides need to recognize the needs and rights of the other side. 3. Terrorists, as well as those who knowingly support terrorists, must agree to stop all terrorist activity, or forcibly restrained and disarmed. 4. Inflammatory remarks, exemplified by the vile, prejudiced, hateful and generally unfounded, must be elilminated, to engender a climate in which peace can be fairly negotiated. 5. Whatever the Hezbolla really desire, they must be willing to settle in a fair way, so that both sides can benefit without violating the rights and wishes of the other side. Without these steps, it is hard to see how this conflict can end in anything else but more and more violence, loss of life, and senseless destruction of property.
