1. Arabs in Nazareth are no different
Shalom ,   Israel   (07.19.06)
The Arab villages have been sending up non-stop fireworks and gun shots in celebration of the rockets, katyushas, missiles, et all. I know 'cos I hear and see them from my window. Perhaps now, they'll reassess whether there's something to celebrate
2. SO GET THE F*CK OUT THEN - YOU HATE ISRAEL ANYWAY
andrew ,   miami,fl   (07.19.06)
3. Hizzblah wants to share the pain
Charlie   (07.19.06)
4. forgive us
aviva ,   jerusalem   (07.19.06)
please forgive israel for not thinking that hizbollah would try to kill you, arab peopls. we'll plan in advance more next time...?! what do you expect! blame the people who killed your kids!
5. Not acceptable
Michael Steiner   (07.19.06)
All citizens of Isael must be protected by the state.
6. Someone needs to lose their job
George W ,   Chicago IL   (07.19.06)
It's tough to tell from this article exactly what happened; did the air raid sirens not go off or something? I imagine there's a standard chain of communication involving local government authorities, the IDF, the police, and so forth, and all parts of the chain need to do their job. Whoever didn't needs to be fired right away.
7. arabs not ımmune they must go shelter we ar at war
haıfa   (07.19.06)
8. Do As The Arabs Usually Do - Celebrate, Dance In The Streets
H ,   Jerusalem   (07.19.06)
and distributes sweets to the children for Hizballah's actions.
9. Rockets hit Arab and Christians
rob ,   Ventura ca   (07.19.06)
The fact is the terrorists don't care about other arabs or anyone else. Hezbollah would if they ran a country, treat arabs the same way they hate Israelis. If the Arabs wish they were governed by a group like Hezbollah or Hamas then they are dumber than I thought. These groups hate everyone and only want power. Face it Arabs in Israel your expendable in the eyes of Hezballoh, and Hamas, and have no benefit, except to let the world see you suffer everyday, in order to expand the agenda of the Hezballoh and Hamas terrorists. Whats the word "cannon fodder" thats what your so-called leaders see you as!!
10. Isn't that ironic ?
Salam ,   Canada   (07.19.06)
Arabs taste their terror first hand
11. Other attack two days earlier
sad reader   (07.19.06)
They had been attacked before. It's incredible to see this crime blamed on Israel. Haifa also got attacked today and didn't receive advance warning. The Israelis don't always pick up on the attack beforehand, which is why it is both sad and disturbing to see Israeli Arabs turn this Hizbullah murder into Israel's fault.
12. How many from Nazareth serve in the IDF?
David ,   Boston, USA   (07.19.06)
This is the time for Arab families to join the rest of the IDF trying to defend them from Terrorists. Israel is a Jewish democratic state, but it IS for all its citizens. The Arabs should get the same consideration and should also be required to serve in the IDF.
13. Arab hutzpa -- Israel guilty that Arabs hit other Arabs
AK   (07.19.06)
So, the good people of Nazareth thought that it was just dandy when their brethren from Lebanon kept shelling Israeli towns and cities with predominately Jewish population, but now that they were hit by the very terrorists they supported they blame Israeli government and not Hezbollah? Now that they find themselves not entirely safe, who, I wonder, are they rooting for when the rockets rain on Kiryat Shmona, still for Hezbollah? Isn’t it high time to expect total loyalty from one’s citizens, even if they happed to be Arab?
14. #6Nobody took precautions because nobody thought
AK   (07.19.06)
that Hizbollah will attack their own -- that went for Nazareth's Arabs as well as the Israeli officials. Now, let's see if the good people of nazareth still support Hamas and Hizbulla against Israel.
15. Nazareth Casualties
(07.19.06)
I am sorry about the two kids in Nazareth, but I don't understand the anger of the Arab population against the homefront. Why they weren't warned in Arabic etc. When two days ago a rocket landed in the Jewish neighbourhood of Nazareth they fired guns in the air from joy and knew very well what had happened. I also not let my kids play outside right now and I don't need no warnings of the homefront in my native language for that. Hezbollah killed those two little boys, not the homefront.
16. Amazing!
(07.19.06)
However sad this may be, I guess the government couldn't remotely imagine that the Arabs would target Arabs. As if it didn't come as a surprise to everybody! Not to say that they were surprised about Haifa, Tiberias and other locations and there were victims there too. So? Didn't the government openly advertize that there was a potential danger for ALL THE RESIDENTS that live starting in the North of Tel Aviv? Has someone chosen not to listen to the news? And isn't your mayor responsible for your city and well-being? So easy always to blame the government. And how about your own brothers that did this? As if they didn't know that they were shooting in Nazareth. Stop the bullshit! I feel for the family of these kids, they didn't deserve to die but I think that it is really disgusting that you blame the government for this! Something is really wrong with how you people reason!
17. go to your bomb shelter please!!
alan ,   south nafrica   (07.19.06)
if you need to someone to tell you to go to a bombshelter when bombs are falling you need to go live in new zealand
18. Why didn't "nastyrallah" send instructions to the arabs?
Bunnie Meyer ,   Santa Monica, CA   (07.19.06)
I know, he wanted them to have 72 virgins each before he got killed. Its just like the arabs to blame Israel for what "nastyrallah" never bothered to do. Please, send your criticism about the bombings to "nastyrallah" and get on with the war.
19. Right wingers, STOP your lies
Rami ,   Nazareth   (07.19.06)
I live in Nazareth and I have not seen or heard about anyone celebrating when a Katyusha hits. Our hearts go out to the victims and I pray for everybody's safety (Jews and Arabs). So you right wingers STOP your racist incitement and keep your fascist opinions to yourself. I will pray for you as well....
20. Nationwide Broadcasts: have they not been lsitening?
howard ,   pacific coast, usa   (07.19.06)
Have the instructions not been broadcast nationwide? Have these people not been listening? Bomb shelters is one thing -- instructions is another.
21. Israeli Arabs murdered by Palestinian terrorists too
Larry ,   Eastbourne, UK   (07.19.06)
22. Unbelievable
Proud Zionist ,   Ofer, Israel   (07.19.06)
I watched interviews with the residents in Nazerath. All of them blamed the government and not the Hizbollah. Then they wonder why we consider them to be 5th columnists. To say that they didn't know what to do is ridulous. The media here is bomdarding us about what to do in case of rocket attacks. What do they expect that the police will go door to door and tell everyone what to do? As far as shelters go, I have a shelter in my house because I built one. I didn't get it from anyone. Most of the buildings in the Arab sectors are put up without shelters because that's how they choose to build. Before blaming the government they should blame the Hizbollah and blame themselves for letting the chuldren play outside when they knew that they were in the range of the rockets.
23. No distinction
Talula ,   Israel   (07.19.06)
It's very sad for the people of Nazareth to believe that they are safe from these rocket attacks. Unfortunately, there is no sensor on the tip of these rockets that can distinguish an Arab from an Israeli. They want to kill us all, regardless, they just don't care.
24. HeartAreWithU
Yael ,   TelAviv   (07.19.06)
I am appalled by how people are responding to this article. I want the Arab residents of Nazareth to know that our hearts are with them. The residents aren't blaming Israel for the deaths, its obvious it is Hezbolla's doings. But they are expressing themselves in a time of grief and if we ever want to live peacefully together, we must take into account their feelings. They are not blaming, they are asking for better care
25. They were warned but choose to cheer with each katiusha
Alex ,   Mexico   (07.19.06)
Warnings were given in arabic news and directly to their leaders. If they choose not to listen and instead they choose to call them to cheer every time a misile landed in their neighbor town, well, that´s their own stupidity. Besides, this is the kind of propaganda they know ignorant people or brainwashed idiots would believe it´s true. Sadly, most of the arab world will believe it.
26. shame, shame
zadok the priest   (07.19.06)
israel doesn't care about its arab citizens. They are viewed as sub-human. shame, shame israel.
27. No 17
Mikael ,   New Zealand   (07.19.06)
No thanks we don't want them here!
28. Negligent Nazereth Mayor.
Ronnie ,   Hod Hasharon , Is   (07.19.06)
Every building in Israel built with a construction licence has to have a air-raid shelter. After Katyushas fell in Haifa and Tiberia why did the city fathers of Nazereth not wake up and get the city prepared instead of passing the buck afterwards.
29. qassams falling on ashkelon and NO warning so far!!!
(07.19.06)
after all of the rockets that have hit ashkelon, why has there been NOT ONE alert so far??? that arab mk can scream about discrimination all he wants but he is just looking for attention and is not interested in the facts.
30. #17 Indeed
Haifa, Israel   (07.19.06)
Complaints masquerading as excuses for irresponsible behavior are the name of the game most of the time.
