1. Uhhh, you don't suppose...?
ytba ,   usa   (07.20.06)
B"H Bunker "close to Israeli border." Ya, know, if a kidnapper wanted to avoid getting caught, he might want to hide right away. Such a bunker would be the ideal location, and apparently very secure, as well. Anyone else want to bet our soldiers are being held there?
2. Jews still making aliyah despite war with lebanon
jo farbstein ,   ny, ny   (07.20.06)
jews making aliyah is on cnn now http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHSqpgXuMKA
3. Prefectly entitled to have bunkers.
Peter Morris ,   New Zealand   (07.20.06)
Next thing Israel will want to own the air. By the tone of the article I get the impression a bunker is something bad. Its all to do with ego. Israel spends billions on the technological weapons and then turns around like a spoilt child with a faulty toy if something like a bunkers renders the weapons useless.
4. I'm CONCERNED FOR MY FAMILY NOW !
Richard ,   Canada   (07.20.06)
The army say they're destroying Hezbollah's capability, but it has not got any better here and I'm concerned for myself and my family in Haifa !
5. Attack the Hezbols from north to south.
Ken Quinn ,   Amsterdam   (07.20.06)
Not from the south to the north. Invade at the Latani and move south.
6. #3 You lose
Daveed ,   Rumallah, Hamastan   (07.20.06)
The UN Resolution 1559 and your hero Koffi Anann says they aren't. Read the subject of this post if you're confused.

Why dont you join them Pete? You seem to know all about other people's problems. But it pays to know the scum you want to side with a little better. Check this smarty pants: http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3278026,00.html
11. Time is the enemy
Volunteer ,   Tennessee, USA   (07.20.06)
The IDF has a limited time period to complete the overall mission. Both internal and international considerations and pressures force Israel to wrap this whole endeavor in a few weeks. As the casualities mount on both sides the pressure will be on the IDF. There is no equivalent pressure on Hisbullah. In fact the longer they can drag the operation out the better off they will be.
12. Peter #3
David ,   Yerushalayim   (07.20.06)
So Hezbollah is "entitled" to have bunkers? I guess they're entitled to nuclear weapons too, since Israel has them, and anything else would run contrary to your warped sense of fairness, a sense that's utterly inappropriate here. Hezbollah was founded and exists to attack and kill as many Israelis as possible. Do you think Israel has no right to complain about their activities, or should sit around and wait for them to achieve military parity so they can kill more Israeli citizens, because to complain or do anything else would be unfair? Israel has no interest in preventing the Lebanese from getting on with their lives. Israel doesn't concern itself with Amal, the main Lebanese Shiite militia. Why do you suppose that is?
13. Peter Morris , New Zealand
scribe ,   san francisco   (07.20.06)
Yes, they are entitled to have bunkers, and Israel is entitled to blow them up if they are being used as a weapon in the war against Israel.
14. Mrs. Morris' little Peter
Mark Zilberman ,   N. Bergen, USA   (07.20.06)
Entitled to bunkers. I love it! And, a chicken in every pot. Excellent!
15. #3
Michael ,   Haifa   (07.20.06)
Peter is quite a realist when it comes to evaluating human conflict. He would of course have appreciated the Turkish fortifications at Gallipoli when the Turks mashed up the ANZAC troops, or maybe he would have approved of that at the time.
16. UNIFIL let that to happen
paulo2005 ,   lisbon,portugal   (07.20.06)
Remember that unifil was in should lebanon, in the border. And there was a six mile strip between israel and lebanon. UNIFIL was suposed to be there keeping the peace .Instead they let hezzbollah to built bunkers and tunnels full of weapons. Typical Annan. Instead of building peace Anan peace force let Iran built a network of tunnels

19. lebanon
g.man ,   manchester .uk.   (07.20.06)
The lebanese government is totally to blame for the situation in that country. They allowed hizbullah to flourish as a state within a state and did nothing. For 6 yrs they allowed them to build up a war machine to attack Israel. They are to blame for the deaths on both sides of the border, and now they winge and try to blame shift,it is no surprise the rest of the middle east shuns them.
20. Don't kill Nasrallah
Talula ,   Israel   (07.20.06)
Just drop him in one of the towns up north and let us, the Israeli citizens, do the rest. PLEASE!!!!
21. It's a War ?
Marcel ,   Florida   (07.20.06)
It's a war ?? Gee ,I thought the Road Map led to peace ? You did everything the U.S. told you to do for their peace plan and ............ where dids it lead you ? Into a trap set by your enemies. While you turned your face for a phony peace and threw fellow Jew out of their homes for the terrorists, they were busy ,busy, busy preparing for war.
22. To Peter Morris in Safe New Zealand
Mike ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (07.20.06)
"Prefectly entitled" to have bunkers? I suppose you mean 'Perfectly entitled" You know what, Peter - Let's assume that your enemy builds such a bunker 500 yards from your house. Now suppose that he starts shooting at you every time he sees your head in your house window. Will you still be saying that he is 'prefectly entitled' to build his bunker? - knowing that you might be dead tomorrow. What amazes me is how many people like you completely fail to understand what living conditions are like here. That gives you the conceit to write the things that you do.
23. g-man (nr19)
Leon ,   Grand Rapids U S A   (07.20.06)
By definition, a government is an institution that GOVERNS. This may sound simplistic, but its basic. The Lebanese "government" cannot control Hizbullah. Therefore, it cannot govern, and thus is not a government.
24. Israel will lose this war as usual
xman ,   uk   (07.20.06)
The vanity of your state is what made you get here, and now your soldiers are being picked off on the ground like sitting ducks. All you have is control of the air, on the ground you are as useless at man-to-man fighting as ever because of your cowardice nature. Congratulations on the burning of the 6 mirkavas, which are still burning in Lebanon, you will never get them back. So much for the 4th strongest army in the world, I think you'd be better positioned to fight the Sri Lankan army, who knows, you might have a chance.
25. Keep it up IDF/IAF
Jumbo ,   California   (07.20.06)
It sure is a beautiful thing watching the IDF exterminate these pieces of human trash. Don't stop until they're all dead.
26. Hey Peter Morrris It's what is in the bunkers
sean ,   Atlanta GA USA   (07.20.06)
It's what is in the bunkers.
27. Jihadbabes.com supports the IDF

Visit jihadbabes.com to help support the IDF. Perhaps a little cross-culture dating would be the perfect solution.
28. Losing wars
dawgjer ,   nashville, TN USA   (07.20.06)
Yeah, like in 1967. The only time the Israelis lose a war is when they don't fight. The only time the Arabs lose is when the Israelis do fight.
29. lose war
willy ,   usa   (07.20.06)
another dumb-ass comment by a delusional. they have never lost in modern times and the islamists have always. Looks like the will of Allah to me. Pay back for your fanatisism.
30. Israeli double standards
Mark ,   Texas USA   (07.20.06)
The Israeli's use fighter bombers, heavy artillery and tanks to kill civilians in a reckless manner everyday. And they have the gall to call Lebanon, Syria and Palestinians the terrorists. Lets make this an even fight - lets give Lebanon an air force, tanks and artillery and let them bomb Tel Aviv. Any of you people out there believe in a even handed fight?
