It's Olmert's way of getting the EU to shut up or put up. The EU will let Israel do what it needs to do until Hizbollah is weak enough that they can come in and clean up. Until then, they'll let Israel fight, to save the EU's skin.

Here's the information you need to make sense of your senseless world, Diala. 1) Sheba farms is not part of Lebanon. It doesn't matter that you think it is, the fact is that it is not. Not even Syria, whose land it's supposed to be, is willing to formally agree, in writing, that it's Lebanese. Sheba is the Lebanese pretext to maintain hostilities. 2) HIzbollah did not wait until now to send missiles into Israel. It's been doing it on and off for years. It kidnapped Israelis before, too - even after the withdrawal from Lebanon. Israel waited until now to respond to the provocations. I speculate the reason is that Olmert's government needs to convince the Israeli citizens that concessions bring peace, and that taking the chance for peace by making concessions really DOES result in fighting back when the goodwill extended is rejected by our enemies. Lebanon's obligation is to govern all of Lebanon. It is paying the price for it's "smallmindedness" in not doing so, allowing Hizbollah to be "Israel's problem", and not allowing peace to root when it had the chance. It's your problem now, too. 3) The Lebanese prisoners that Israel holds are murderers. They deserve to be in jail. They even deserve worse. They will be freed when they complete their term of prison, and should not be freed before that. Our blood has value, and those who take it should be punished not lauded. 4) It's a good thing we have been doing overflights. Apparently, the reason you and other Lebanese don't like them is that they give us the information we need to attack the sites where HIzbollah has stored their weapons and infrastructure. Perhaps if Lebanon had chosen peace with Israel rather than giving into the Syrian will, there'd have been no need for overflights. You're still paying for your poor choices. I think the E.U could handle the situation better than the Americans due purely to the cranial capacity of their commander in cheif.
