It is possible that there is a wider-than-oil reason for EU's behavior: One has to look closely at France going back many years, up to the present: De Gaulle's letters after WW2 indicate clearly that France thought that europe should unite, to counter American influence and power. In the current situations, France takes positions opposite the americans, no matter what the subject is. so, together with appeasing its ever-increasing Islamic population, it strives to minimize American influence.

Cease Fire is very important now and if EU is trying to do some thing, Israel have to think abt it .
