1. Israel's Opponents Will Never Admit It...
Seth ,   Washington, DC   (08.01.06)
...but Israel will win again
2. Wasn't this already done?
Kissel   (08.01.06)
WTF Who is anyone kidding. Shabba farms to UN? They are very easy to bribe the UN soldiers. They have acces to drugs and prostitution as well. A Shabba in UN hands, is in Arab hands. Hizbullah will never be disarmed, even after this incursion by Israel, so who is anyone kidding when they say disarm them. Syria and Iran are the only way to stop them. Iran is pulling the strings on this puppet, and Israel is a shocked member in the audiance, beleiving it, and not seeing the puppetier. Israel will get weakened, then those other dogs will come in to finish Israel off. Eyes on the prize Gentleman.

6. I don't trust the UN
Floyd   (08.01.06)
to do a fair and accurate investigation into the collapse of the building in Qana. They would cover up Hezbollah's involvement!
7. Beware the French !
Arvid ,   Norway   (08.01.06)
It is not for me to give advice to you good people of Israel, but I feel I have to say :BEWARE the french "diplomacy" ! It has a record of historic political disasters which are horrible from A to Z! Don`t let the french fool you into any of their "clever compromises", they ALWAYS stink! Remember who dragged the US into the tragic Vietnam war, and all the french disaters in Algerie and elsewhwere. Here in Norway we constantly hear/read the "french version" of s.c. resolution 242 and many of our people - even many who are basically friendly to Israel - are misinformed by the largest part of our media. I for one have tried - in newspaper-articles and on radio - to set the record straight by quoting the correctly ( english text) of res. 242. But even in a "free" country like mine, someone who defends the Israel nation and the jewish people is regarded as a persona non grata by the mighty media-people. BEWARE the french, and God bless Israel in these difficult days.

9. Well said! Mr Ambassador
NTI ,   Red Chili   (08.01.06)
Gillerman! In fact, who is this idiot Tareq of Leb to dictate terms to Israel? So far, I have not seen any muslim who is unbiased, just and fair. Well, the 'holy' koran prescribed the following for its followers (muslim zombies): "3:28, Let not the believers Take for friends or helpers Unbelievers rather than believers: if any do that, in nothing will there be help from Allah" Visit www.faithfreedom.org for more details.
10. Poor Itty Bitty Israel
Rick ,   USA   (08.01.06)
Israel is in a fight with scum who are less than human, and who follow no protocals of civilized man. Yet, Israel treats these murderers of her children as if they are due any respect. You can't fight a war with sub-humans who wish for death, by patting them on the back. Israeli citizens, you elected jelly fish for a government. Now enjoy your bitter fruits!
11. People who use children as human shields
mike ,   Chicago, USA   (08.01.06)

12. Point #7
Kevin ,   Wooster, Oh USA   (08.01.06)
7- International community helps rebuilding Lebanon First, it is all about Lebanon, nothing for Israel and the blatant one was #7 when there is no help to rebuild Israel. Total joke.
13. I smell a big rat here...
Matt K. ,   Victoria, BC, Canada   (08.01.06)
Question: since when Tareq Mitri has been the acting minister of foreign affairs? As far as I know he (an Eastern Orthodox Christian) is the minister of culture - the foreign affairs ministry is reserved in Lebanon for a shiite...
14. Mitri's seven points
Raymond from DC ,   Washington, DC USA   (08.01.06)
After Siniora's angry rantings on the Sunday talk shows yesterday, I'm not surprised that Lebanon has virtually adopted the Hizbullah agenda here. A few points: 1- Few would have a problem exchanging Israeli soldiers for those Lebanese or Hizbullah forces captured in this conflict, but the convicted prisoners still in Israeli hands should remain there. The militant's strategy is "commit aggression; if captured, commit more aggression, get released". No more. 3 - Shebaa Farms (Har Dov) is not in dispute. It doesn't belong to Lebanon, as the UN itself has certified after extensive review of all available maps. Lebanon just wants what we call here a "freebie" that will eventually revert to Syrian control. If Syria wants to formally bequeath the area to Lebanon, then there's something to talk about. 4 - This was already called for in UNSC 1559, but the Lebanese and the international community failed to enforce it. That's why the parties are now at war. 6 - See #3. The UN has already certified the Blue Line. There's nothing else to demarcate. Hizbullah violated that boundary starting this whole mess, all their nonsense about "resistance" and "occupation" notwithstanding. 7 - It's only right that Syria and Iran help pay for the damage their recklessness has wrought. (I'd also love to see Nasrallah charged with treason for serving the interests of those countries over his own.) But be warned: If independent paramilitary forces like Hizbullah (and the PLO forces) aren't de-fanged, expect to see Lebanon wrecked again within a few years.
15. Do not dare trust the un
J.D.Thurman ,   Dalton, Georgia, USA   (08.01.06)
Right on Floyd(#6). The world is in collusion against Israel, led by Swcretary General coffee anal.
16. 1949?! How about 1922, better yet 1920, or maybe 1000 BCE ?
D- ,   San Diego, USA   (08.01.06)
I had to look the 1949 borders up: http://www.mfa.gov.il/MFA/Facts+About+Israel/Israel+in+Maps/ Look at these maps ! Since 1947, essentially from birth, the UN has been committed to the destruction of Israel. The UN is horrible !
17. A few things missing
Robert Tilden ,   Sheridan, WY   (08.01.06)
The Lebanese forgot a few things: 1- To dimantle Hizbollah, as 1559 states. 2- If Lebanon wants Shabaa farms Israel can do that, but at the end of this process, a full peace agreement should be attained, this also will allow for Israel to free some of the prisoners. When the war is done and peace has come the killers can be released.
18. How about release those YOU kidnapped........
DD   (08.01.06)
.....or keep getting your ass kicked. A much better plan.
19. Shebba Farms would be bad precedent
The Monster ,   Kansas City, KS, USA   (08.01.06)
The UN already certified that Israel withdrew from every square centimeter of Lebanese territory six years ago. Shebba Farms is occupied by Israel pending a treaty with Syria. I don't believe Syria has ever officially recognized the right of Israel to exist within any borders whatsoever. Until they do so, they have no authority to deed to another nation land they forfeited by their aggression. If this is allowed to continue, Lebanon could claim that it actually owns all of the Golan Heights. Just imagine how far missiles could reach from there. Of course, they wouldn't have to be 'Hizb'Allah' missiles. Some other non-state proxy would be cooked up to man the mobile launchers in the Heights, so that Assad and Ahmadinejad could maintain clean hands.
20. horse barns
stude ham ,   outremont, canada   (08.01.06)
oooohhhhh... so now the libbies will be good and use their toy soldiers in the south.... if they couldn't do that before and halt the hezbollah cancer that was rotting and destroying their country their toy soldiers will be just as useless now. All the libbies are proposing now is very much like locking the barn after the horses have been stolen. but anyway... since they're only talking to the wind and not to Israel this proposal is anything but serious... ie... a complete farce.
21. Lebanon says NO to foreign troops on it's soil, but the
Bunnie Meyer ,   Santa Monica, CA   (08.01.06)
iranian scum are foreign troops and they are welcome to fire missles amoung the civilizations. Lebanon is just another iran, only smaller.
22. deployment & forces
oferdesade ,   israel   (08.01.06)
i still think the only feasible multi-lateral force would be combined of israelis, syrians and jordanians. i suggested this to my wife who works at the FO, and everyone there thinks it's a crappy idea. obviously, this means that it's a great one.
23. Lebanon
Erik ,   kingsville, MO USA   (08.01.06)
I pity the lebanese. The fact is the lebanese govt has the same chance to disarm Hizbullah as I have of flying. Any attempt would drive the country int a civil war that would make what israel is doing look like a war game. The only winners are hizbullah, Iran, and Syria. Lebanon loses and israel gets the same raw deal they have recieved from the beginning.
24. #18 Getting whose ass kicked
Mike ,   Boston   (08.01.06)

26. I dont think peace will ever come
Faisal ,   Hyderabad India   (08.01.06)
I really dont think taht peace will ever come in middle east. Both are stubborn Israelis and Arabs ... This UN is really a fake thing and all the Security members countries are seeing there profit in middle east ... Oil and economies and no one wants a perfect solution of this problem ... Israel show every thing in the light of Torah , that its the land given to them to Almighty but in real all this gay marraiges , same sex marraiges are against the law of Almighty ..May be coz of this only HASHEM , make enemies of Israel ..
