31.  Re: #3. human thought trancends peace
dahvid ,   usa   (08.03.06)
#3 brownbear " human thought trancends peace" Tell it to the Spaznish train bombing victims. I propose that you walk your talk. Go to Lebanon, and just sit there and say "ommmm" and let's see if it saves you.
32. That's Jordan's problem
Steve ,   San Francisco   (08.03.06)
If Hezbollah sets up there. And the creation of a Palestinian state will be a disaster for Israel. Qana appears to have been a staged propaganda event. Did I leave anything out? Oh yes, the Arabs are all calling for a ceasefire because Hezbollah's butt is being kicked and their pride is now on the line. And one other thing -- giving them Shabaa Farms would mean the victory of Hezbollah and must not MUST NOT happen.
33. THE PUPPET KING TALKS -
Sid Emess   (08.03.06)
Abdullah states "but peace will be obtained by returning occupied territories and the establishment of a Palestinian state; that is the only solution." If he truly believes this then since his "kingdom" was part of the Mandate given by the League of Nations in 1921 to establish a Jewish State he should pack up and return to Saudi Arabia from where he originates! The kingdom was a puppet created by the British who renaged on the Mandate, not only in Jordan's creation (BTW why is it Royal ?) but also prevented Jewish immigration.
34. Hey Abdullah, ahmadinejad HAS A SOLUTION!
Saul ,   Barcelona, Catalunia   (08.03.06)
Jordan is a palestenian arab country ruled by a Hashemite dynasty. Abdullah's grandfather, also Abdullah, was installed in 1921 by the British as a temporary ruler of Transjordania, the eastern 75% of what was the Palestenian Mandate, created by the League of Nations SPECIFICALLY to facilitate a Jewish homeland in the Middle East. Incidentally, the original Palestenian Mandate also included the area of what is now S. Lebanon, up to the Litani river. Abdullah I's father, King Hussein, ruled the western Arabian province of Hejaz, which included Mecca. This put him at odds with his arch nemesis, the ultra-conservative Royal House of Ibn Saud, who ruled Eastern Arabia. The initial goal was to install Abdullah I as a king of Syria (mostly thanks to the machinations of the infamous Lawrence of Arabia, and others from the British Arab office in Cairo) The French, who viewed Syria, particularly the Levantine coast, as their sphere of influence, refused to consent, and Abdullah i remained in Amman. Meanwhile the House of Ibn Saud launched a Wahhabist takeover of Western Arabia, displacing the Hashemites. So now we have two "family" kingdoms: SAUDI Arabia and HASHEMITE Kingdom of Jordan. Some may argue that Hashemite Jordan is a far less legitimate state than Israel. Palestenians already have 75% of Palestine, they just need to straighten that out with Abdullah. No wonder young Abdullah is worried...
35. Please, if Hezb set up in Egypt....
Rory ,   Londonistan   (08.03.06)
.....Mubarak would take care of them, just like he did with the Muslim Brotherhood
36. You're either part of the problem or part of the solution.
Ariel ,   Judean Hills   (08.03.06)
It's your choice. If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen. How about reclaiming your patrimony in Arabia?
37. The King is Correct
MK ,   USA   (08.03.06)
I have been holding exactly the same views for years. What the king stated is the only solution. Bombs cannot deter terror. Terror is an ideology, an idea. Ideas can not be bombed. The Soviet Union did not collapse by bombs, but by changes in life conditions. Once the occupied territories are returned, terror will vanish. This is the only solution, and amazingly, this is the solution that was never tested.
38. #17 Move Back to "Your" pre-1967 Borders
World Citizen ,   the world   (08.03.06)
and maybe the Arabs will regonize Israel. That sir, is the solution to Israel's problem. The root of "your" problem is elements within your society that seek a "Greater Israel" It is those zionist that want to push everyone else into the sea and not the Arabs. Zionist Israelis project onto the Arabs what the Israelis themselves desire to do.
39. Israel:Never ever believe arabs!Never!
keren ,   sao paulo   (08.03.06)
"...but peace will be obtained by returning occupied territories and the establishment of a Palestinian state; that is the only solution." This is the king's statement but he "forgets" that since THE FIRST DAY Isarel was stablished, arabs atacked it. By that time there were no Gaza problems,no Libanon problems and no siria's problems. The root of the problem is ARABS DO NOT ACCEPT ISRAEL'S RIGHT to be in ITS land and accomplish its destiny in its ancestral home land. THEY DO NOT ACCEPT THIS FACT.PERIOD! Solution? Israel must strengthen itself more and more.First military, then moraly and ethicaly. Slowly, things will change ,if Isarel changes. It is like in a personal point of view:as much as we strengthen ourselves phisically, moraly, spiritualy, culturaly; as much as we get rid from our defects;as much as we respect ourselves in the first plan, much we are able to be respected and lead a better life . Yes,arabs are simply impossible, but we will not change them.We can change ourselves for better and then eventually change others. But this is the less important;the most important is to cure and strengthen ourselves. I see this way.
40. The king making sense
Toro ,   Canada   (08.03.06)
From now on It is out of Isreal hands...you made your bed you sleep in it. As long as there is aggression and occupation – there will be resistance and support for resistance.
41. rhetoric vs reality
BS meter ,   Canada   (08.03.06)
What the heck does he mean by any of this? What was Lebanon's issue with Israel before this war it was complicit with? Were Oslo, Camp David, Taba not attempts at multilateral negotiation? What exactly would new negotiations look like? Full "right of return" for the trumped-up number of "refugees" (the UN uses totally different ways of calculating "Palestinian refugees" than for any other kind of refugee on the planet, grossly inflating them)? Why didn't the reporter press him on any of these important questions? This is total bullshit designed to cover up the real genocide. Speaking of which: everything the Arabs say Israel does is nothing but a projection of what they themselves do or wish to do, starting with genocide. Anybody who doubts it should go have a look at the articles at www:matthiaskuentzel.de People liek Abdullah are just worried about having their throats slit by their "brethren"
42. The only solution is Jordan,Plaestinian State
e.m ,   s.f   (08.03.06)
King Abdullah right Islamic fanaticisms never going to give-up. To day in Lebanon and tomorrow in Jordan or Egypt, but strong and undefeatable Israel army is the only answer to Islamic fanaticisms since they believe in destruction of Israel.
43. There is only one solution
Jeff ,   Georgia, USA   (08.03.06)
and it does not include anyone getting what they want. For real peace you must forgive. That goes for you too Mr. Bush. All other solutions are just temporary. "Desire nothing and you will have everything."
44. #31 david
brownbear ,   barcelona, spain   (08.03.06)
Hello David. thank you for reading my post. If you actually read what I wrote, my message was for indivduals to conciously visualise peace. Contrary to your belief, and though I throughly respect budest teachings. I am not going to sit and chat "Ohm", at least not in Beirut. The path to peace is different for each person. For example. If you decided to focus on peace coming from the USA , you might protest the selling of arms, raise awareness or funds about the caualities of war or condemn your government for spending trillions of your tax dollars on weapons instead of educating and helping the American people. I am creating my own reality for peace, buy getting people like yourselves to focus and think a different way from a different perspective. Visualise a peaceful future and take positive steps to make it happen, instead of arguing about the past, and who is right and wrong. The past does not equal the future. May you find peace in your heart, and do something positive.

was there peace before 1967?
46. Disgraceful Arab Leadership.
Tunisian   (08.03.06)
.It's funny listening to the " Axes of incompetance" mainly so called Kings Old and kiddy Abdullah and that (not so) Mubarak. These leaders don't give a rat about any body exept their throne and outdoing each other in stealing their peoples money, hopes and future. This kiddy king gave this interview only to indicate how advanced the Arab Leaders STUPITIDY CASE has become. What Hizbullah did exposed them to every body to see, no matter what's you standing concerning Hizbullah, you can't miss their determination, beleive in themselves, backing up what they announce and after all you can't miss their trustworthiness. I have to say no matter how much you hate Hassan Nasrallah you find yourself listening to him and no matter how much those " kings " serve you, you just can't stand listening to them. Real soldiers respect real soldiers...and no matter what you try there is no peace exept : PEACE OF THE EQUALS................but these kings and presidents for life are clearly INFERIORS can't offord a war neither do they offored peace
47. Hey brownbear #44
Saul ,   Barcelona, spain   (08.03.06)
Hey brownbear! Why don't you do something positive and post your "think positive" messages on some of the pro-Hizbullah message boards. Talking about peace to the Israelies is a bit like preaching to the choir. Try to explain your views to this guy: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=AhmedFarahat

49. The boy-king must understand
Persian CAT   (08.03.06)
That's his brain droppings do not count. He must know by now that peace cannot be achieved by kissing the facists' asses. Appeasement has got this pretend king nothing but shame and humilation.
50. #38 & #45
bill glenn ,   Clearwater USA   (08.03.06)
In the years before the Six-Day War, the Arab countries continually refused to acknowledge the legitimacy of the Jewish state, and Arab nationalists led by Nasser called for the destruction of Israel. Egypt and Jordan supported Palestinian fedayeen (guerrillas), who attacked troops and civilians in Israeli territory, then retreated to the Egyptian-controlled Gaza Strip or the Jordanian-controlled West Bank. From its Golan Heights region, Syria regularly shelled Israeli farms. For its part, Israel refused to accept Jordan’s control of Jewish holy places in East Jerusalem. Israel also kept tensions high by responding to Arab incursions with reprisals on Arab territory
51. truth hurts!

52. what had Jordan done so far
David   (08.03.06)
From all what I heard about Jordan, Is that it is the pivot in middle eastern stability. I think the west should admire king Abdullah So much because of his stances and vision towards the future, he is of the few genuine moderates in the Arab world that has donre so much for his country more than any other leader in the middle East including isreal, thats from what I read in the news about the Middle East. He is a highly respected sharp visioned man that is walking a tight rope, and Jordan is a bufferzone, but if the most prosperous country economice wise, security wise and domestic security wise is called a buffer zone then I think King Abdullah has changed the definition of Buffer zone. And I think Isreal should be wiping Jordans ass for it not opening its borders and unleash hell not from the government or jordaniand army, but the people in all the world that despise the isrealis, and they are a lot. having said that Jordan had thwarted numerous cross border attacks on the Isreali state and has had jordaniann soldiers die doingf their job to prevent attacks on isreal. Plus if 9it wasn't for the Jordanians Abu Musab al Zarqawi would still be beheading americans and blowing up hotels... I think being moderae is the best word to fit the Middle eastern problem, extreme action has extreme reaction. Newton said it, every action has an equal reaction. why defy the science that missles and planes are built with?
53. do i hear yankees talk politix ?
Naturei Karta ,   Occupied Palestine   (08.03.06)
sorry but did i hear american teens talking politics? i mean all they r concerend about are american ffotball matches and the news in their newspapers are on the last pages, do they now know about nations and teach the people how to think? are they now watching more CNN and BBC and listening to their lying propaganda for their spoiled little dog ISRAEL? well that would be something when those who don't know where is Lebanon or Israel on the map, to talk about wars of nations... www.nkusa.org

55. #53 Palestinian geography lesson?!?
Saul ,   Barcelona, spain   (08.03.06)
I think it is the palestinians who do not know where Israel is. Their school textbooks do not even show Israel on the map!

watching ,   DC   (08.03.06)
Yes - talking politics - emphasis on "talking." In your "Paleo" world that is an unknown, isn't it? Do the "Paleos" know how to discuss anything or is it "give me this or we'll kill more Jews." Further, The only people "Occupying" anything are the "Paleos" - 1) they did not exist 50 years ago - created in '65 with the purpose of Killing Jews 2) the League of Nations mandate - which is still in effect according to UN rules and regulations - gave the land to Israel. So tell us again - the occupied territories means the "Paleos" are occupying - right?

58. To poster of #38 RE:Pre '67 borders
A Good Yid   (08.04.06)
I fully agree with you. It is said that people prophesize and know not what they say. Indeed, Israel WILL soon be returned to borders that existed before '67 - ie the borders of 2000 years ago and prior, just as the Bible has predicted. And then the "World Citizens' will be clearly sorted out - those who believe in the G-d of Israel and those who fight against Him. The funny thing is, even with their current insane religion (which they will throw off in a second) the Ishmaelites will be more amenable to the appearance of the Jewish Redeemer than will the people of the west, except for the so-called fundamentalists who will also realize the lies they've been taught for the last 2000 years and will abandon their religion as well, for the true belief in the one G-d of Israel. Amen, Yechi HaMelech.
59. SO?! What's new? "Every garden needs weeding"
Ertok   (08.04.06)
The King is right. But so what? We all know the ME has plenty of fanatic Hizbananas. They are weeds that need to be pulled up from time to time. Its not a perfect world but we can live with that.
60. #57 Brownbear
Nali ,   Jacksonville, FL   (08.04.06)
Brownbear, Israelis are visualizing peace, and looking towards the future. This is why they are trying to eliminate Hezbollah. Focus your mind and intellect, and try to visualize what Hezbollah or Al Qaida will do with bigger and better weopans. Now visualize a world without Hezbollah, without Al Qaida. Do you feal the love?
