31. Pushbush keep talking your ignorance
Keith ,   NY,USA   (08.09.06)
You fool. If you only would open your, so called, believing eyes to the Bible to which you probebly dont have, and see what i said. The Bible says BACK IN THE DAYS OF WHICH IT WAS WRITTEN, not now!! Obviously you dont even pay attention to what I wrote. I said back when The old testement was written that God said to Israel "kill the tribe of Ishmael OR ELSE YOU WILL SUFFER BY THEIR HANDS IN THE FUTURE!!. Now...what is happening now? Israel is suffering by the hands of the decendence of Ishmael...Get it? But of course you already knew that didn't you mister Bible scholar? As usual, the ignorant keep getting louder as if we didn't hear their foolish comments the first time. Listen I have better things to do than have a battle of wits with an unarmed person so, carry on with yourself, at least there will be one person who believes your sh&%.

I used to be one of the "talk-it-out" crowd. Sept 11 changed everything. It's not morality, or history, or faith. It's about your and our survival. These animals would kill you, too- Muslim, Jew or Christian.

hana, we jews dont resent people because of what they have done in previous generations but becuase of what they do to us in the present generation. In the present generation the fascist antismite virus has taken hold within the islam, not in christianity. People like you, hana, are our enemy. People like you, Hana, and your familiy, are the ones I am prepared to kill to defend my fellow jews. DO YOU GET IT?
39. DEALING WITH THE DEVIL: The UN Threat to Israel
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (08.09.06)
national review online August 07, 2006 Dealing with the Devil A diplomatic disaster in the making. By Anne Bayefsky Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is on the brink of handing President Bush the worst diplomatic disaster of his presidency. She is poised to agree to two United Nations resolutions that will tie the hands of both Israel and the United States in the war on terror and, in particular, inhibit future action on its number one state sponsor — Iran. The catastrophe is the brainchild of Secretary General Kofi Annan, who has effectively turned the United Nations into the political wing of Hezbollah. In the last three weeks, a multi-headed hydra of U.N. actors has risen to defeat Israel on the political battlefield in an unprecedented disregard of the U.N. Charter’s central tenet: the right of self-defense. But how did the U.N. respond to the aggression against the U.N. member state of Israel, which was launched once again from Lebanese territory and which continues to the present hour? By accusing Israel of murder, mass genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity, the deliberate attack of children, and racism. U.N. actors have even denied that Hezbollah is a terrorist organization and analogized it to anti-Nazi resistance movements... The Geneva Conventions clearly state that combatants are prohibited from using civilians as human shields, but if they do so, the presence of civilians does not render the area immune from military operations. Israeli soldiers and civilians are paying with their lives daily as a consequence of Israel’s efforts to avoid disproportionate action — a dramatic exercise of restraint taken in order to reduce Lebanese civilian casualties... The United Nations seeks to: (1) protect Hezbollah from further Israeli attacks; (2) produce a political win for Hezbollah by giving them the territorial prize of the Shebaa Farms ; and (3) increase U.N. presence, oversight, and control of the Arab-Israeli conflict. It calls for renewed involvement of UNIFIL, the U.N. troops that stood and watched Hezbollah rearm and plan its deadly assault on a U.N. member state for the last six years. Such an international force is to be authorized under the first-ever Chapter VII resolution — a legally binding resolution that can be implemented through sanctions or the use of force — in the history of the Arab-Israeli conflict. In other words, Secretary Rice has approved of a U.N.-authorized and monitored force that has its sights set on Israel too, coupled with a claim that Israel is currently engaged in “offensive” operations. The very U.N. that accuses Israel of murder and heinous violations of international law is now to be charged with judging compliance with a legally binding instrument purporting to define the terms and conditions of Israel’s self-defense... There will be only one sure result of this move — the empowerment of terrorists whose ultimate target is the United States and all democratic values. Secretary Rice’s belief that there is a serious convergence between the United Nations agenda and American foreign-policy needs in the age of terrorism is a profound error in judgment for which democratic societies everywhere will be forced to pay a heavy price. http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=ODQyMGNlYWM5NzIzZGFhOTNlZDAxMmM2YTRkOWRjYzE=
40. #25 SUDAN'S JIHAD SLAVES & KIDNAPPED IDF MUST HAVE FREEDOM
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (08.09.06)
Slavery is evil and satanic. America ended this evil practice long ago. African-Americans are valuable members of U.S. society. Bible, Leviticus 24:17 "If a man takes the life of any human being, he shall surely be put to death" Black Africans are the indigenous people of Sudan and are the majority population. The black Southern Sudanese Christians explain what "peace" means: If you agree to become a Muslim, you will have peace. If you reject Islam, you are at war. From 1955-1973, 1.5 million Christians were slaughtered by the Arab Muslim government in Khartoum. From 1983-2005, two million more Christians died from Khartoum's jihad. Murdering infidels is not considered a crime. Non-Muslim infidels are regarded as not entitled to human rights. Hundreds of thousands of Christians have been raped. Hundreds of thousands of Christian children and women taken for slaves. In the refugee camps, the Islamo-Fascist religious supremacist Khartoum government requires refugees to become Muslims in order to receive food and water. The genocide has resulted in the largest population of refugees on earth since the Second World War. The jihad in Sudan against Darfur's black African Muslims by Khartoum's racist Arab Muslim regime began in 2003. 400,000 black Muslims are dead. STOP Genocide - STOP Slavery - FREE the Slaves and kidnapped IDF soldiers. http://www.iabolish.org/ Bible, Exodus 21:16 "He who kidnaps a man, whether he sells him or he is found in his possession, shall surely be put to death"
41. After reading letter from Iranian Pres to USA Pres Bush
Landry ,   USA   (08.09.06)
It makes me wonder if the country of IRAN could be of such a THREAT or NATURE to attempt nuclear war on Israel. There were some interesting points and only if the IRANIANS would practice what they preached no one would be at odds with them. The letter does carry a tone of disrespect for Israel as a people and legitimate country which is unjustified. President Ahmadinejab states Israel was not a country 65 years or so ago and never before in history. SO WHAT?? THEY ARE NOW ! If MUSLUMS carry the Koran in their hearts and it's teachings of the prophets of peace then they will refrain from any attempt to annihilate the people of Israel. Iran and Syria should accept the people of Israel as neighbors as they accepted the newly formed Palestinians of the 20th century. WAKE UP PEOPLE --GLOBALLY NOBODY WANTS ANY PART OF ANCIENT HATES AND WARS AND WHO CARES WHAT THE NEIGHBORS DO AS LONG AS THEY DON"T HURT YOU> Otherwise, you must protect yourself if no one else will do it. Looks to me like both sides of this War will end up as loosers in more ways than one and any other Country that involves itself in this war will end up loosers as well. http://www.basma.us/site/articles/english/letter.20060509.ahmadinejad_to_bush

He came a long way from "bomb Syria" to "talk to Syria". This Bush never seized to impress me with his idiocy.
43. Talk to Syria? LEVEL Syria!!!

44. FAISAL, YOU GENIUS!
Lisa ,   NYC   (08.09.06)
I am not attacking you. Democracy cannot be forced! It must be won by the people yearning for it. This is why it will fail in Iraq. Democracy it born of inner turmoil and the belief that your liberty matters. People are angry and afraid. No one wants the war the spread. The Arab nations do not trust the US. More than this, the arab nations need to clean house! They have some insane arabs there! We have some insane americans, too. We keep most of them in Texas
45. Why Would Bush Or Anyone Take The Far Left Paper Seriously?
Beth Landau ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (08.09.06)
The NY Times has a long history of anti Israel bias. They consistently carry news stories and editorials that are slanted against Israel and sympathetic to its enemies. Whether Israel employs military tactics to protect itself from terrorist attacks, or the peace process is stalled, or it is simply not progressing as quickly as the editorialists would like, even while Israeli civilians are being blown up by Palestinian & Hezbollah terrorists, New York Times editorial writers stick to their consistent message—blame Israel and whitewash Arab responsibility. Therefore, I must say I take my hat off to the Bush administration for showing clear and unwavering support for their # 1 ally in the Middle East.
46. Silence is golden!
RCA ,   USA   (08.09.06)
Right!... Look who is making the assertions--The New York Times, and the ever regressive Democratic Party. The Times, aka, the paper of record, now again discredited by exposing national security secrets has long ago fallen from grace and prestige due to yellow journalism and fictitious stories....to name a few. Who cares what their editorial writers demand in the way of dialog with Syria.....And the Democratic Party, equally tarnished and disfavored, has been fertile ground for a rapidly growing anti-semitism in contemporary times. This has been the biggest disappointment of all. No longer the party of Roosevelt, Truman, or JFK, its become a bastion of emotionally disturbed far-left wackos and wingnuts totaly devoid of history and commonsense whose idea of progress is degenerate. Notice lately what they have done to good Jew Sen. Lieberman? Its no wonder why there is a growing Jewish Republican Coalition, and the growing numbers and influence of the Jewish NEO-CONS. These are the only bodies of Americans who have been solidly behind, and staunch supporters of Israel from the very begining. Anyway........Bush has no need to talk to Syria, we have nothing to say to them. They know what we want through back channel communication. Dialogue is great when there is something useful to be said.........Otherwise, silence is golden!!!!!!
47. # 21-Democracy is like medicine

But , of course, when you are sick, you do not always realize that it is good for you.
48. US talking with Syria
Steve Savage ,   San Diego, USA   (08.09.06)
The article on 8/8 by Yitzhak Benhorin is very good. I wish that the US administration would understand the need to talk with enemies. There needs to be a way in diplotmatic currency to talk without implying that the other side is cool. As we look at the world stage we seem to have what the movie "Cool Hand Luke" would call "a failure to communicate". That isn't something we can tolerate. Thanks for your excellent reporting Steve Savage
49. Americans press Bush
eric ,   fredericksburg, usa   (08.09.06)
here we go again with the New York Times. "Americans press Bush". Who? The three listed in the editorial out of approximately 300 million Americans. This is typical of this newspaper. Always inflate the numbers to justify the papers agenda. Do you in the press not understand that if Israel or the US loses in this battle or any other battle against terrorism, the terrorists win, and win, and win until you and the rest of us become subjects of their system and the press, Hollywood, intellectuals, politicians, etc. will be the first lined up for elimination. This is not a political game of Democrat against Republican. This is a fight for our very survival.
50. Americans press Bush
eric ,   fredericksburg, usa   (08.09.06)
I honestly believe there is a significant element within the US as well as the EU and the rest of the world who just cannot understand why the "dirty jews" don't just meekly march off to the ovens as they should. After all, according to many, they are the source of all the world's problems and actually want to take over the world! Imagine that. This type of reasoning reminds me of a childs response when caught red handed in the cookie jar. "I didn't do it. It was all his fault". Wake up people and look at yourselves in the mirror when you spout this kind of crap!
51. Americans press Bush
eric ,   fredericksburg, USA   (08.09.06)
Apparently I am very stupid! Before this latest battle began, Bush was too stupid to do anything right, all according to the very people who are now howling that Bush is the only person in the world who can fix the problem. Is this what I am hearing? A great joke on the media and Bush bashers right now would be for Bush to come out before the public and simply say DUH!

You are a brave man to write on this forum and expose yourself to the constant bigotry, anti-Arab racism and anti-Islamic prejudice of most of the writers here. My suggestion is that you should translate for the Syrian press some of the comments on this site so that peace-loving Syrians see just how many Israelis/Zionists are calling for Syria/Iran to be "nuked", just how many Israelis delight in calling Islam a religion created by Satan, just how deep and overwhelming the bigotry and prejudice on this site is. kullena muqawa

Actually I prefer a Republic. But a Democracy will do......India has some way to go as far as economic development. It has been more balanced in favor of the more spiritual and non-material aspects of its culture. It shall do better with time. A country, like a baby has to crawl some before it can walk with regard Republics, Democracies and general Western approaches......The people of Iran and Afghanistan have little aptitude for these things while at home, yet when they come to America......and many of them do, they usually take to it like a fish to water. The same goes for the people of India. We have almost entire towns taken over by industrious Indians for prosperous commercial purposes......... There are many types of Democracies, some better than others. Tuning the Democratic system to the needs of the people and to their overall productivity takes time and care. If there are major corrupt elements in the society involved, then no matter whatever model you use it will not work out very well. One of the weaknesses of a democratic system is that you can still be debating issues while the enemy is at your door. This does not happen in a republic. Republics usually have an accelerated chain of command during particular situations of decision making. They are more action ready. A Republic is more advanced and technical but also comes with its own weaknesses, of which I shall not go into here. No political system in the world is totaly perfect......Some do come closer than others. Don't be so quick to trash Democracies because yours or your neighbors' is struggling. They have contributed to many fulfilled and happy lives and have provided much to the worlds evolutionary civilization.
