War is not a way of life, its a means to an end goal. The immediate end goal is to stop rockets being fired at Israel and get the soldiers back. The long term end goal is no more attacks from Lebanon into Israel. An immediate cease fire can halt rocket fire into Israel, but Hizbollah will still be there hating Jews. The more Hizbollah Israel kills, the more Iran and Syria creates. You need to disable these forces from creating Hizbollah. Hizbollah can only operate becasue Lebanese parents, families and communities give a free pass to their children to join terror groups for the sake of Islam. War has not stopped hatred to date. War has not made these communities tell the kids to stop attacking Jews. I think that the Lebanese must control their borders, but they must also offer the Shia a decent way of living so that they have something to loose when Israel retaliates. They will stop their kids from attacking if they have something worth loosing. Its not about left wing or right wing. Its about trying new solutions to ending this conflict. What will we loose if we let the French and Lebanese fight Hizbollah? Israel can always go back into battle if the Lebanese attack again. And if that happens they will fight an Army that they can crush without collateral damage - something they can win at very easily. I have very little respect for Seniora, the Lebanese and the French. But I don't see what we have to loose by letting them fight Hizbollah.

I have just finished reading Amos Oz's "A Tale of Love and Darkness", and I believe that this man loves Israel. He was born in Jerusalem, was there the day Israel was ratified as a state, and continues to fight for peace. He is incredilby educated, and sometimes, this leads to being more open minded. That said, an all out acceptance to Lebanon's PM is not necessary, but dialogue is.
