Hizbullah had dug in with weapons and supplies for a long time now. They have had years there with nothing but preparations. Whether the IDF had gone in earlier or now the result would be the same. "Now" is probably better because the re-supplying, reinforcement, and movement of Hizbullah has been made much more difficult if not impossible.
