Chaim Naveh ,   Bet Shemmesh, Israel   (08.13.06)
You forgot to add that the US and Israel will send aid, money and workers there to repair all damages. Watch.
63. WAR NOT OVER -- next round HIT SYRIA ASAP
Meni   (08.13.06)
as of now, hizbollah says it wants to keep its weapons, therefore there will be no lebanese army deployment. therefore there will be no ceasefire. after 48 hours of no cease fire i hope to heaven that olmert will do what should have been done after the last '48' hour lull -- invade syria, level damascus, this will enable lebanon to liberate itself from the control of hizbollah and win the war.
64. Bottom line - Lebanon is occupied again
Omri ,   ISRAEL   (08.13.06)
I'm not sure we won, but 30,000 Israeli tropps, occuping most of southern Lebaon at the end of the war - to be replaced by 15,000 foreign troops - surly mean that Lebanon and Hizballa lost militarily!
65. to 58 - you live in a dream
(08.13.06)
An Israeli ship was surely hit, but did not sunk. I happen to know - I was on that ship when it was hit. As a matter of fact - the same ship - I.N.S. Hanit, is now fixed, and back at sea taking active part in the figthing. Arabic media today is just as credible as it was on 1967, when the Cario radio announced that the Egyptian forces are at the outskirts of Tel Aviv... Your poor media makes your people poor as well, as you are beeing fed by what your leaders wants you to believe. Israeli media, however, is open, and critcal of its own government. You can take a look at some of the opinions in this site. No chance you'll find alike in the arabic press.
66. Victory !! You are killing me... Sharoon we are miss you!
Ben Naim ,   israel   (08.13.06)
I think we are becoming like the Arab leaders now...we start to lie to our self...we always won coz we said the truth...what victory..weak up some one ask this "Guy" to take walk on the see...this is not our army that protected us from all anmy and 24 arab countries....is this the end or we could have sharoon back!
67. Dude, You can do a good Arabic leader !
Yair David ,   Israel   (08.13.06)
68. # 2
Joshua ,   USA   (08.13.06)
A agree with your comments
69. Israel-win or lose?
Lee ,   London   (08.13.06)
Is it not better to say little but trust that lessons will be learnt from mistakes? To do otherwise, is to build up our enemies confidence so that they believe they did in fact win.
70. Iron wall has fallen
Ramy Aly ,   London - Egypt   (08.13.06)
Hizbullah has killed more Israeli Soldiers in this war than Israeli civilians Israel has lied contiunuously throughout the war claiming that it has killed hundreds of Lebanese fighters without a single shred of evidence to prove it. the IDF performance on the ground has been pathetic - huge losses of tanks and men - without your American planes and missiles you are a really shitty army. The fear factor has been destroyed - groups will now attempt to engage IDF on the ground man-to-man Israeli intelligence has also been shown to be lacking - twice you thought you had Nasrallah and droped close to 20 tonnes of explosives... you were wrong Israel has been shown to be the bloodthirsty self-righteous facist state that it is by killing hundreds of Lebanese civilians. Nobody likes you or believes your IDF spokespeople. Demonstrations have taken place all over the world acknowledging the illegitemacy of Israels response - it has been a PR disaster for Israel - only Jewish communities and insane fundamentalist Christians in the US have come out in support of Israel. The Ceacefire is due to come into effect and everyone knows that Hizbullah will not be disarmed, the UN force will not be able to impose a demilitarised zone in the south and the Arms will keep coming The two soldiers that Israel flattened Lebanon for and killed 1000 civilians nearly half of them children are off the media agenda in Israel and out and there is no sign that they will be returned without a prisoner exchange. Nasrallah is the New AbdelNasser. pictures of him are being carried from London to Cairo , JoBurg, Jakarta. need I continue Israel - wake up, give us back our land, stop lashing out like the abused children of European brutality that you are
71. you didn't LIE? is this some kind of a joke?
Matrizzi ,   Italy   (08.13.06)
cause it's funny LOL
72. to # 4
Stacey ,   Lancaster   (08.13.06)
Hizbullah didn't loose 500 fighters out of 8000. Those who gave u these numbers are lying to u darling..check the source. Hizballah was trying to reclaim lebanese detainees by capturing, ur country darling has destroyed another country and killed its civilians, started a whole propaganda and gave u false allegations of everything the IDF did. No targets, nothing has been achieved....Think well, return the detainees, leave Lebanon alone and then, u can live happily ever after.
73. jix, I love ur analysis mmppaaa
Meriam ,   Colchester   (08.13.06)
I think u spoke my words...
74. Victory is with the Righteous
Joshua ,   USA   (08.13.06)
Victory is for the Righteous
75. everyone lost
Joshua ,   USA   (08.13.06)
On the surface, everyone lost. but the question is by how much, how long would it take to recover and what are the long-term impact?
76. Mid East war
vivek Chanan ,   Canada   (08.13.06)
Israel waged a great war but failed on the media front. The leader of hezbollah who deserted his own fighters and fled to Iran to save his skin is a coward and has no right to claim victory. His fighters could not stop the IDF from reaching the Litani river which was a preset goal for Israel. The Hezbollah took a beating of their life and it makes alll decent people happy.
77. winning teh war
Vivek Chanan ,   Canada   (08.13.06)
Nasarllah fled to Iran to save his skin. his own fighters do not know of his whereabouts. He is abloody coward and has been whipped by IDF.
78. lost
larry ,   zefat israel   (08.13.06)
hundreds of dead civilians and soldiers.zero tourism.billions of dollars wasted.northern israel ghostown.more victories like this we can do without.israeli army excellent at expelling innocent jewish families from their homes.not so easy to expel hisbollah.
79. No. 7 - 1 and all of you who wish
Strong and proud ,   Haifa   (08.13.06)
Israel will be no more - Beirut will burn and Lebaon will be no more
80. you won the fact
isam ,   palestine   (08.13.06)
i am realy sad for you ,but you have to know sth, all arabian now have the hope of your end as a state ,now we believe your idf is a big lie ,you are nothing after this war , you enemy was a small gang in a small country ,what will happen if the wor will be with all arab countries led by hamas and hizbullah ,what you have to do then ,but i have my own hope for peace
81. Smart guy , aren't you?
Maxim ,   Moscow/Russia   (08.13.06)
Israel lost the war , and i wouldn't say accomplished anything in diplomacy. I mean 34 tanks in one day and only 4 hizbollah guerillas died , i think you'd better re-think your definitions of victory. I mean Israel lost to a group of guerillas with an unbreakable determination and faith to defend teir country, but israel has the soul intention of revenge against a country that doesn't even have a navy nor airforce. And israel lost. I don't support Hizbollah but the fact is that you LOST!! in every possible way
82. Hahahahaahahah
Nadoshka   (08.13.06)
83. to #4
yz ,   canada   (08.13.06)
Hizballah win because the powerfull IDF couldn't stop katyucha rocket! destroying a CIVIL infrastrucure is not wining ! it's loosing, increasing anti-semitist around the worlds harming the jewish poeple! Hizbullah wins because of most of the world population thinks that Israel is war criminal and there is everyday demonstrations. Hizbullah wins because after IDf bombed a village for 4 hours they couldn't enter that village they did and they fled with heavy casulaities. Israel lost ! look what a banch of 'soldiers' what did to the most poworful army per squar feet in the world! ....... Israel is hurting the jewish people! Israel is not unvanurable anymore.... Israel should now negociate for real the peace with it's neibors!
84. No doubt, he won, but you can still win
DE Teodoru ,   NY USA   (08.13.06)
Hezbollah won by surviving and defying Israel's sluggish dud- blitzkreig. But now a lot of civil rebuilding the US has to pay for--- at least $100 billion to pay for repair of this Bushit war-- to Lebanon, it should give through the best and cleanest of Israel's construction firms. These, usinga miz of Lebanese and Palestinian minds, labor and planners-- as well as Jews, should PROVE THAT ISRAEL CAN BE A LIGHT ONTO ITS ARAB NEIGHBORS rebuilding Beirut into truly a "shinning city on the hill." It will remain a permanent monument to positive aspect of Zionist society. The offer should be made to individual Lebanese witn no strings attached. Even Narsallah's family should be brought into the project with respect and bygones be bygones. That would be first time Israel is seen as a building angel instead of a destroying devil. Olmert should try to fly to Beirut a la Sadat and repeat over and over regret and determination to rebuild Beirut as Paris of Mideast. All Israeli architects, engineers and builders should know and used a lot the Arab word for "sorry." Try, this time, being a Christ-like Jew in Lebanon and you may well revolutionize Israel-Hezbollah relation. Anything less and your kids will see that you gave Nersrallah a solid bloody victory
85. You're the big loser
Esmaeel ,   Tehran   (08.13.06)
you lost because your army was grounded at the border. you lost because israelis have resided in the shelters for a month. you lost because olmert's popularity has fallen, in contrast with the rise of that of nasrollah. you won because every arab is a potent enemy wishing to throw the jews into the sea. you lost because the new middle east wil surely be fulfiled WITHOUT a jeographical scar, ie, Israel. 2007, the year without Israel.
86. who has really won?
kikiban ,   algiers   (08.13.06)
You won only one thing, the right of being freed from the zionism, this nightmare that still poisons Israel and its elite. Despite heavy losses in both sides, precisely amid the civilians, there's only one real looser, the gov't troïka (Olmert, Peretz and Halutz) that will enter for sure the history books as the "little three". Instead of Nasrallah who promised, tears and death to his fellows, the little three promised a "quick and clean" victory to its people. They put millions of lives in the balance with no regards to a paliamentary debate that should've taken place with severe intelligence operations assessement prior to any military action. The end result is that the IDF still fight against an "unknown enemy" 32 days after hostilities started. Both the israeli society and the establishment must ask now themselves why did they let the little three wage a full scale war with no democratic debate? why did they accept such a misuse of force against the innocent civilians? Why referring to the iraqi case, the intelligence operations weren't really overviewed? Why did they let Olmert and his deadly companions "downsize" the cabinet at the benefit of themselves; As blind gamblers they are ,they paid attention for nothing, but always neck to neck when rising stakes against each other every time they meet .All of us noted that they had no regards for Livni that made no trip abroad to explain the case. Too many questions for one answer, Israel has become with no awareness the ultimate toy of the declining Bush's administration. The moral and democratic values are hit at a large scale today. The wounds are so profound that a recovery is possible only with heavy surgery. New elections, new constitution that gives the Knesst the right to declare war instead of the cabinet etc.. The israelis must understand for good that the "new middle east" this silly idea will never be achieved without the willingness of all the peoples of the region. in 1941 the detestable and arrogant Hitler claimed that he will turn russia into the new eden after having pushed away the "barbaric soviets" to the far east with no possibility of return for one thousand years.Since,History said something else. Last but not least , in my view what ever happens, the israeli society has gained the right to shape a new future without the arrogant zionist ideology that has already gone with the wind ...
87. Dumbest thing I've see here ...
Jay ,   Los Angeles   (08.13.06)
I've written this at least three times now, and it was never more obvious than in this delusionary piece of garbage.
88. No doubt
Captain London ,   London, UK   (08.13.06)
You won indeed only if you measure winning by the number of children you killed.
89. Guy Benyovits
Charles ,   Tel Aviv   (08.13.06)
Bravo Guy!
90. The Costs Of Delusion, Arrogance & Hubris
Adina Kutnicki ,   US   (08.13.06)
There is no doubt that the IDF is a valiant fighting force. At the same time there is no doubt that its commander's hubris, plus total incompetence on the political level cost many many Israeli lives. The enemy smelled all the indecisions, and understood that the call up of reserves would cost Israel dearly. How do I know this? They read the same reports that the rest of the world does. What normal ? regime would ever dare cut training and ammunition for their fighting forces, when they live in the most volatile region of the world? The enemy understood that the arrogance, coupled with the left's deluded mindset would gain them an advantage. And, tragically they were correct.
