1. How to disarm
Lebanese   (08.18.06)
Guys, it doesn't need a rocket scientist to figure this out. The Hizb will never give up its arms as long as Chebaa is still occupied, and neither will it give up its arms by force. According to your FM, there is not a single army in the world that is able to take the Hizb's arms by force. So, I say just give Lebanon back the damn farms, and then the Lebanese will pressure the Hizb to give up its arms. Since the Hizb doesn't want a civil war, it will definitely do it if the whole territories are free, and if all of the people in Lebanon is asking for it. But Lebanon also needs assurances that your country will not vioalte the Lebanese air space or waters EVER again. Are you not able to trade some stupid farms for peace?! That would be the smartest move to make.
2. hesbo will never disarm
haim ,   mtl canada   (08.18.06)
whatevr we give them chebaa farms is inly a good excuse not to , and dont forget hesbo is fighting for iran and syria so where do u think the money will come from if they stop fighting and how to pay for the big mistake of going to war against IDF hhaha just watch it boy we will be back in lebenon very soon same as gaza so be ready and olmert and his gang of crooks will not be here this time shalom

4. depends
gandolf ,   pei canada   (08.18.06)
I would not give up my depends undergarments just yet .. As soon as hizbullas leadership sticks out their heads they are going to be dead...then wonder what the Hell happens if Israel Israel hits arm convoys from syria . does hizballah take it on the chin or hit back ? it depends : ))
5. lebanese you are not in a position
herodotus   (08.18.06)
to make conditions.in spite of all the talk hizb lost up to 600 fighters.israel lost less then 150 men. your country was destroyed.and we can do it again.so why the conditions?sheba farms is not yours.we will stop flying over your country when hizballah is disarmed. israel is now more wary.it would be much worse for you next time.
6. ENDLESS, STUPID RATIONALIZATION OF DEFEAT
Ertok   (08.18.06)
The mentality is breathtaking.
7. #1 Don't be so naive
ISAAC RUBIN ,   ISRAEL   (08.18.06)
Today we are told that if Lebanon had the Shaba farms, Syria the Golan and the Palestinians had Juda and Shomron, there would be peace. We have been there and tried it.In 1947 the Arab countrys on our borders divided up our country as spoils of war.But they lost the war.[If Nasralla was around he would have claimed victory ] In 47 no Arab state was thinking of a Palestine. At least Iran is honest enough to admit that they would like to wipe Israel off the map. Today Lebenon have been forced to take responcibility for their whole country If they don't they will be responcible for the next war.The price we all know. If Hizbulla really want to win all they have to do is lay down their arms and then we will all be big time winners especially Lebanese people
8. The truth is,and this is true.TheHizbullah
ERIC... ,   ISRAEL   (08.18.06)
got such a hideing from the Israeli army. There are between 600 to 800 dead.We have 400 names of dead Hizbullah and there are 3000 wounded.Soo people there is not much left of Hizbullah. We won the war .
9. disarm
Antoine ,   Lebanon   (08.18.06)
Hey guys your are fighting guys who a seeking death. So killing 600 or 6000 of them wont make a difference. You have to resolve this issue without using war.Anyway even if the damn farms aren't ours they surely aren't yours so leave them this way you will really weaken the Hizb position. You really should have kicked their asses but unfortunatly this is not a win for you
10. oh pls guys don't believe that!!!
m ,   lebanon   (08.18.06)

12. #1 Lebanese, knock on Syria's door voor the Shebaa farms
Suzanne   (08.18.06)
13. Lebanon - breathtaking stupidity
observer ,   US   (08.18.06)
Lebanese people such as #1 - Do you even understand the meaning of state sovereignty? It means that a government is in charge of what goes on in its own state. South Lebanon may technically be part of Lebanon, but it's not under Lebanese sovereignty. The government has had to suck up to Hizb, which is a minority group, to such an extent that IT DIDN'T DEPLOY SOUTH OF THE LITANI FOR DECADES. How can you keep a straight face and actually call that part of Lebanon. In reality it's HIzbullah land. Sure, Israel will give assurance that it won't aerially or navally enter Lebanese sovereign territories. That means that FIRST, the LEBANESE GOVERNMENT needs to gain SOVEREIGNTY of that area! When will you guys stop being pathetic spineless pansies, cowtowing to Hizb, and actually take your country back from the people who hijacked it? If you would keep tabs on the terrorists within your borders instead of pandering to them, then Israel will be able to feel safe enough not to have to keep tabs on them in order to protect itself. If Lebanon showed a little backbone, then perhaps Israel would be willing to give up Shabaa farms (which is a strategically significant significant position, in terms of defending Israeli farms within range of them). But it certainly isn't willing to do so when, for now (based on the history of Lebanon happily serving as Hizb's trained monkey) giving up Shabaa farms would be tantamount to giftwrapping a strategic asset and handing it to Hizb terrorists to attack israeli civilians more easily. Bad plan.
14. #8: I Support You
emanon ,   USA   (08.18.06)
But I'm afaraif you won the battle while the war still goes on. Listen to what Hizbollah is saying, listen to the fact that new Hizbollah units are frming in other countries and listen to what the madman in Iran is saying (I can't spell his name properly). This is not over for Israel. You did a great job. Despite the vew of most of the world press you fought honorably. Despite their own internal battles of how their relgion is to be practised, the religious leaders still spew their hated of Israel. Now that Hizbollah has declared this *their* victory, they have declared Israel *can* be defeated, they will whip the rabble into renewed attacks against Israel. Despite the fact Israel is turning over all the territory it had trops in in Lebanon, Israel is still declared *imperialistic* and is still called *the occupiers*. What was is just a prelude of what is to be. Be ever on guard. You cannot rest.
15. LEBANESE GOVT COLLUDEDwith HIZBULLAHfor Israel'sANNIHILATION
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (08.18.06)
Terrorist Hizbullah is a member of Lebanon's government with seats in the cabinet. Lebanon's government colluded with Hizbullah in unprovoked, vicious acts of war against Israel. Lebanese army radars were used to lock in Israeli targets for Hizbullah missile crews. YNETNEWS (08.12.06, 16:52) Siniora accepts deal, praises Hizbullah ...steadfastness of resistance fighters in field was very important,' http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3290107,00.html Hizbullah attacked Israel with over 4,000 rockets - the rockets packed with ball bearings to maximize the suffering of Israeli victims. Israel's third largest city Haifa, was under regular rocket barrage. Over one million Jews were forced to live in bomb shelters. Embedded in densely populated civilian areas Hizbullah despicably shoot from inside mosques, hospitals and schools in south Lebanon. Hizbullah ruthlessly uses human shields to protect rocket launching teams who set up rockets and other weapons in apartment blocks, schools and mosques. Images show Hizbullah using high-density residential areas to launch rockets: http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,,19955774-5007220,00.html Lebanon's government and Hizbullah, fighting a proxy war for Syria and Iran share responsibility for causing all of the deaths, injuries and damage wrought in Lebanon and Israel. In the war to bring all nations under Islamic subjugation, Israel's fight for survival is a fight for freedom and human rights for all nations. Israel must defeat her enemies for Israel's enemies are the enemies of the free world. The Innocent Bystander Myth Evelyn Gordon, THE JERUSALEM POST July 20, 2006 ...Far from being smuggled in without the government's knowledge, weapons earmarked for Hizbullah arrived openly in Beirut Airport almost every week - and the airport, unlike southern Lebanon, is fully controlled by the government and the Lebanese army. Yet the government never ordered the army to confiscate these shipments. Regular arms shipments also came overland from Syria. Yet these, too, passed openly and without hindrance through border crossings controlled by the Lebanese government. The Lebanese army has even openly assisted Hizbullah during the past week's fighting. Hizbullah's successful missile strike on an Israeli naval vessel Friday night, for instance, would have been impossible had the army's radar stations not given Hizbullah the ship's coordinates. Hizbullah does not have radar stations of its own. Far from repudiating Hizbullah's attacks on Israel, the Lebanese government has actively defended, facilitated and assisted them at every turn. There are thus no grounds for treating it as an innocent party in this conflict...
16. Rationalizing?
Chris ,   LA   (08.18.06)
Well, if you claim that Huzb Allah is rationalizing defeat, I don't see anyone on the Israeli side claiming a real victory except Olmert and Peretz trying to save their jobs...
17. To number 8
Chris ,   LA   (08.18.06)
Even if I take your claim of 800 Huzb Allah killed (not true), Huzb Allah has 10,000 normals and can replenish its ranks almost immediately from the population. All this false argument about Israeli victory needs to stop. Israel achieved nothing in the war. At first, I thought at least the Huzb Allah will leave to north of the Litani, it's something, but even that isn't going to happen. Israel lost the war completely and Huzb Allah staying in the south is in violation of the ceasefire agreement, but is Israel going to launch another war? No. So who won?
18. To 13
Chris ,   LA   (08.18.06)
Though Huzb Allah as a party is less than 50% of the Lebanese population, if you count its supporters across all the different sects, it is well above 50%. Huzb Allah support is not the minority opinion. No matter what a Lebanese Christian would claim, Christians are only 20-23% of the population of Lebanon and their biggest political party is Huzb Allah's ally...
19. #1 More over,...Shebaa farms are an excuse
Suzanne   (08.18.06)
next to the fact that Hezbollah should call on Syria if it is disturbed by the fact it is recognised by the international community as being a part of Syria, it is also a pity that you fail to see that the Shebaa farms are just an excuse for Hezbollah.
20. #2
Lebanese ,   Lebanon   (08.18.06)
we wait you in south Lebanon to deal with as we dealed to 430 IDF soldiers that were killed in these battles & not 119 as israel goverment is saying,so instead of hiding in canada as a rat come to your holy land & fight as a real man if you know what does this mean.
21. Given that nazirallah controls the army
Arie ,   Afula   (08.18.06)
why would there be a conflict?
22. 20 ur not a problem to me

25. #17 We have made many mistakes.
ERIC.. ,   ISRAEL   (08.18.06)
No question. We never got the results that we wanted ,true. One thing is for sure, you wont get the truth from those fanatics. But for sure they were beaten badly. If they dont keep the ceasefire agreement. We will hit them much hard.We Israelis learn very fast ,next time it will be different and better. For our security we will launch another war.Its up to them.We won the war.
26. Hizballah needs protection from other Armies, who won?
Kissel   (08.18.06)
27. #20
eugene ,   israel   (08.18.06)
unlike lebanon, syria and iran israel is a democratic country where anyone can say whatever he wants without being killed by stoning.even you towelheads are allowed to spill you bullcrap on this israeli site without being edited. if, as you claim israeli casualties were above ~119 there would be MASSIVE protests ,supported by the families of the slain, against israeli army hiding the real casualties and everyone in the world would know of it. if you watched al-manar during this period you could see it recapturing israeli channel 10, where every casualty was anounced exactly. and even a small reportage about the soldiers and their families.
28. The only REAL Israeli win would involve annexing territory.
sk ,   USA   (08.18.06)
One of the images in my mind regarding Israel is Moshe Dayan's stupid grin when he said on TV once that the liked the Arabs and that they were his cousins. (And Dayan was no Bible thumper.) I suppose he grinned the same way when he handed over the keys to the Temple Mount to the Wafq. The Arabs must learn that they will lose land every time they launch an attack. Mt. Dov ("Sheba Farms") is Israeli, as is all of the Golan, and Judea, and Samaria, and Gaza. Hizbullah can indeed regroup, and it is in Iran's and Syria's interests that it does, and they will make it happen. But an Israel that has annexed southern Lebanon and expelled the Arabs from it (happily, mostly Shiite), is an Israel that has won, and such a win cannot be spun by anybody as a loss. Only by seizing land permanently and expelling the residents can Israel be able to impose a cost that the elite who run Arab countries will need to consider. No more retreats. How is this for an objective definition of victory that will be understood by all sides?
29. to 15: freedom and human rights
Yohanan ,   Sion / Switzerland   (08.18.06)
Doesn't the Sionist ideology leave room for the idea that talk of freedom and human rights in Israel is fake as long the right of return is denied to Palestinians chased from their land, forced to live miserably far away from their villages and soil?
30. Israel in Great Danger! DECLARE UN RESOLUTION NULL & VOID !
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (08.18.06)
The anti-human rights Jew-hating UN supports terrorist attacks against Jewish innocents. This evil humanity-hating organization instructed Israel that Jews are not allowed to defend themselves. Why do our nations' leaders support this wicked organization? The UN is a threat to Jews and every innocent on earth: Our World: The Olmert government must go Caroline Glick, THE JERUSALEM POST August 15, 2006 Already on Sunday, Annan sent a letter to Olmert instructing him that once the cease-fire is put into effect, the IDF will be barred from taking action even if it comes under attack... The Knesset must vote no confidence in this government and new elections must be carried out as soon as the law permits. If the Knesset hesitates in taking this required step, then the people of Israel must take to the streets in mass demonstrations and demand that our representatives send Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, Defense Minister Amir Peretz and their comrades out to pasture... Because of the Olmert government's failures, ever greater battles await us. As the dangers mount by the hour, we must replace this misbegotten government with one that can defend us.
