2. slime ball

leah   (08.24.06)
3. scandals all over the place.
In a country where the hidden things are much more then the obvious one, if we see that the President is involved in a rape scandal, ministers involved in stock scandal, pilot involved in scandal, soldiers involved in selling weapons for enemies scandal, PM takes orders from Rice, Defence minister doesn't know what's going on around him, they both got involved in a war bigger then scandal. if this what we see and it's only the tip of the mountain, who knows what other garbage is hidden in the "promise land" with the "Choosen people"
jj ,   london, UK   (08.24.06)
4. LIES!
(08.24.06)
5. Shame for both
Shame to those who may be involved and shame to those making these allegations. The first instance of harrassment and rape should have removed that person from his domain and re-appointed to a new position. However, since the person claiming to be the victim never left her position (no pun intented), then why should we care? If my boss or any person harrassed me, I would kick their slimmy butt and report it, then pack up and leave. No job or associate is worth anyone's discompfort. Obviously, she was not offended or resisted the advances the first time. Shame on her and them.... if this is even true!

6. how old is this young girl?
how old is this young girl? age is not important at this time. authority by mister president, yes. were drugs available? were problems too much? WHO can help them?

7. The Ohio State Buckeyes wil eat Joe Paterno's living corpse!
Then put him under the 'ol Olentangy.
Dan ,   Columbus, Ohio   (08.24.06)
8. Shelly Yacimovich
Shelly Yacimovich is just trying to stir the pot. Here you have someone that Amir Peretz brought to the Labour party and all she does is cause trouble. She stired the pot when the budget was being voted on, instead of supporting the goverment that she is a member of. Here she is doing it again. What rock did she craw from under. Shelly Yacimovich is no more relavent than Yossi Beilin. Shelly Yacimovich does us all a favor, craw back under the rock you can from, go back to being a two bit reporter, because as a MP, you are not worth the pay check you are receiving.
jeremy ,   Northern Israel   (08.24.06)
9. Wow...#1

NoBlame ,   USA   (08.24.06)
12. Shelly Yacimovich
Well, if we learned anything from Shelly Yacimovich's days as a reporter, then it definately happened......NOT!
Ben Hur ,   Manhattan, USA   (08.24.06)
13. to #3: and in the uk prince charles ordered the m16
to kill princess diana. is that more ethical for you ?? or when prince harry bangs every girl in the uk and dresses in nazi uniform ?? or when your pm is bush's poddle?? i'm sure you are very welcome in muslim communities in london and you can stay there!
(08.25.06)
14. Accuser
Anyone who accuses a President of a country of such horrible crime needs further examination. If this is true why didn't she lodge a police report and tell her parents about it?
Brod ,   USA   (08.25.06)
15. Simple Observation
This wasn't the original allegation - and in fact - is several orders of magnitude more serious than her original claims. How did 'sexual harassment' suddenly jump to 'forcible rape'? Its possible, of course, but why the change now - and why is the media giving it airtime without asking the patently obvious questions? I thought the media was supposed to go out in search of the truth - not regurgitate what amounts to PR statements from the respective sides. Go out an investigate and report. This is just headline grabbing without meaningful analysis.
Wonderment ,   Israel   (08.25.06)
16. #2 - Maybe you should read The Book.
It says to pursue justice, not knee-jerk rushes to judgement. And to get there, as our sages say, you must inquire dilligently. Your reaction is counter to the spirit of the Book you want to start swinging with. The facts must be established. Before that no opinion should be formed, and no action should be taken.
Read It ,   ISrael   (08.25.06)
17. To Ibrahim #1
OK. I'll admit....you made me laugh :-) BUT does that mean if you're not a hunk, your wife is entitled to cheat on you?
Emily ,   USA   (08.25.06)
18. Uh, Read It (16) ...
more than lower-case-leah have jumped to conclusions here... I note that this case seemed to come up when Katsav was soon to leave anyway (making him less powerful) and soon after he started badmouthing disengagement. Does that mean this is a big lie? Maybe, maybe not. If there was a delay in prosecuting this, and if it turns out to be true, we need to ask for the delay to be explained. Might it be that Katsav, like so many at the top, including PMs, was being protected as long as he was useful?
sk ,   USA   (08.25.06)
19. Shelly BIG NOTE - Why open your mouth?
What about letting the court decide if the evidence is "credible". You have shown your bias and have prejudiced Katsav. Idiots like you allow criminals to get off because of technicality
Scott   (08.25.06)
20. USC #1 again
I think this is great
Tex ,   LoS Banos   (08.25.06)
21. katzav
RESIGN! You are disgusting. GO home and STAY home. i feel sorry for your wife and children. They should put you out on the street.
sam ,   israel   (08.25.06)
22. #2
Leahla, It also says in your book that that women are weak minded. It also says in your book that men precede women. That one must save the life of a man and let a woman die. It says in your book that testimony of a woman is invalid. The rabbis even devised the benediction of gratitude for not being created as a woman. According to your book the tribe of Benjamin was almost entirely desimated for homosexual activity and debauchery. If you were such a believer in your book whatre you doing reading zionist newspapers when u should be preparing for shabbis. Go read some tehilim or something. Save your country.
Hashtin Al-Hakir ,   al quds   (08.25.06)
23. There is a principle designed to keep men in everlasting ...
ignorance, that is, contempt prior to investigation. H. Spenser ________ 14, 15 & 16 are completely correct. Such insights were likely among Moses 70 elders - judges. Don't do to Katsav what has been done to Jews from time immemorial, tongue slaying and slander based on circumstantial and unsubstantiated accusation of possibly dubious motived accusers. Besides, #4 looks like Katsav's reading this!
(08.25.06)
24. 1st it was....
tried to kiss, then it was tried to fondle, then it was molest, and just once, now its RAAAAPE!!!! more than once! Yikes! down with false accusers. Also why stay in such environment? I'd listen to Katsav at #4 "As he sought for his brother, let it be done to him."
Neutral Observer ,   USA   (08.25.06)
25. Is she a politcian or a journalist?
MK Shelly Yacimovich found it difficult to leave her former profession and is now mixing her two roles, this is cynical use of her background as a journalist, regardless of whether Katsav is guilty or not .
Yoel ,   Tel Aviv   (08.25.06)
26. President's Little Helper
He should have asked Monica Levinsky to help him with his office work

27. Give Israelis Credit :) Response to #3
Yes, jj, it's a mess, but give the Israelis credit: they don't cover scandals up or put up with leadership that they don't respect. Israel has a fantastic government, a democracy, where the people can demand a change of government. I am from the US, and have been horrified about recent allegations of mistreatment (and worse) of the people in Iraq by some of our military. I won't defend people who commit crimes or act improperly, and I am glad to see that the people in Israel don't either. The British people should have some sympathy, as they have had their share of scandal and impropriety. It is regretable whenever it occurs.
