31. peace and love it is easy no?
marc, london ,   paris   (08.25.06)
Well, whatever persons would say, I hope Palestinians and Israelis will live one day in total peace.. I like people talking about education, science etc. to introduce those notions in arabic countries... but plenty of such notions come from arabic countries ! so stop saying bullshit and I could tell you something : do not woory fuck your nuclear shit your government is playing with-wants to manage the whole world.. in your dreams. And live Arabs : one of the most important, clever, peaceful, understanding people in earth. Thank you very much, a modest student who hopes peace will win and not human cupidity, economic interests and army.
32. Forward to the demise of Kadima
Larry ,   Eastbourne, UK   (08.25.06)
Many predicted that Kadima would disintegrate without Ariel Sharon, and this is now about to happen albeit a little later than envisaged. Kadima is an artificial party with no policies so I can't see how it can endure. Wasn't there another artificial party called Shinui not so long ago which briefly held a number of Knesset seats but is now no more? As regards the popularity of Olmert and Peretz, remember that this was quite high at the start of the war when it seemed that Israel would take decisive action against the Hizbullah threat. In the light of the blunders that characterised the end of the war, and the acceptance by the government of a UN resolution that neither disarms Hizbullah nor requires the release of the abducted soldiers, it's hardly surprising that public opinion has changed drastically.
33. Far left-wing poll
Yariv ,   Tel Aviv   (08.25.06)
The Kadima people wouldn't get more than 6-7% of votes if you tak into account people who will NEVER answer the phone or people who afraid to loose the job or wouldn't talk to a far left pollster.
34. OLMERT & CO. --OUT NOW-- we need someone with JEWISH PRIDE
JB ,   NJ   (08.25.06)
It is very unfortunate to say the following but its true, We need to learn from Iran’s leader how do deal with the world and ourselves, He has his cruel principles but he believes in them, he is proud of it and does not hide it. Israel runs away from it's Jewish past and tries too satisfy the nations, however this just shows weakness in character, and brought/brings us only misery
35. to Marc No.19
STEVE ,   LONDON, ENGLAND   (08.25.06)
Thanks for taking the trouble to comment but I totslly disagree. You have revealed yourself to be pro violence with your suggestion thst one has to be 'hard nosed' and 'get on with the job'. You sound like a concentration camp commander. Human Rights are for everyone. That means you too. Look at Article 30 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights: Article 30. Nothing in this Declaration may be interpreted as implying for any State, group or person any right to engage in any activity or to perform any act aimed at the destruction of any of the rights and freedoms set forth herein. You are wrong about Muslims. They are human beings too. It is their leaders who are to blame. They all their rights protected and promoted. They all need to learn about political science. They all need to learn from people who preach non-violence. You would cause war. Change your mind and seek dialogue through reason and conscience. We just had a war already.
36. Can a vote of no confidence force a resignation?
Michael Korn ,   usa   (08.25.06)
It is clear Israel needs and wants new leadership. Can someone briefly explain how the parliment system works? How do MK s generate a vote of no confidence. The israeli people deserve better leadership.
37. New Leadership
Bob ,   USA   (08.25.06)
Want a new leader? How about G.W.Bush? Take our president please.
38. Get Bibi back in
Jason ,   New Zealand   (08.26.06)
Get Bibi back in the drivers seat.
39. Steve #35 - Anti-semitic statement
Legalize ,   NY, USA   (08.26.06)
Your comparison of Steve to a concentration camp commander is anti-Semitic.
40. #5
Craig ,   USA   (08.26.06)
Only a leftist intellectual could come up with such utter rubbish. You sir are either a fool or intentionally promoting rediculously unworkable philosophy. "Israel needs to motivate the international community to bring twenty-first century political philosophy and science to the Arabs." That is truly the stupidest utterance I have seen on any of these 'talkbacks'...what a moronic simpeton you must be. Last I heard, you guys in England..not to mention the French, have a bit of a problem with your own Islamic population. Gee, I guess you have already contacted the local authorities to inform them of the lack of proper "political philosophy" classes in your own country.
41. 2 This is gods will....
freedom ,   canada   (08.26.06)
Olmert and Paretz will be turfed soon, as Israel is in great danger from its enemies. This is my guess, Netanyahu will likely be the one to take over the reins in some manner, liberal left wingers dont work in this part of the world. Netanyahu did great things with the economy as well... He would get my vote.
42. 3 Steve.... newsflash... Thats a pretty big
freedom ,   canada   (08.26.06)
number wanting Olmert and Paretz out of office.. Youre wrong, Israel does not need to motivate anyone. The so called Arab world must do some soulsearching and constructive self criticism and move on into the 21st century. Like you have it all backwards.
43. 14 Absolutely not. I would think new
freedom   (08.26.06)
elections will be happenning sooner than later. The coalition will likely break apart and new elections will be called. Time is short, Hizbullah was not erased, and is rebuilding.
44. 24 Mashaal was tough one..
freedom ,   canada   (08.26.06)
I dont know what I would have done.. remember the agents.. now.. if you think he is that cutthroat then Im surely not misplaced when I said if I could I would vote for him. Toughness is what is respected, surely you can see it today.
45. 28 Actually the west bank is occupied by
freedom ,   canada   (08.26.06)
the palestinians. Its two bad the two cannot live together .. but by historical rights the west bank should be israeli, not necessarily jewish.
46. 30 If you think that way perhaps, you
freedom ,   canada   (08.26.06)
dont know about the good things Netanyahu did for the economy. I would say youre not informed enough. Take a look at economic performance.
47. 31 Dont you think the sunni shiite conflict
freedom ,   canada   (08.26.06)
is much worse in Iraq and its not because of the americans. Think about that two by four in your eye before you think of the little sliver in the west bank and gaza.
48. war in Lebanon
stan ,   usa   (08.27.06)
Ben N. should return to power he is the best Israel has don't be like the usa, Bush and Rumsfeld have created nothing but one problem after another, our military has there hands tied and as long as that happens we will pay a high price, I am tired of seeing our troops get killed due to lack of leadership not by the generals but by Bush and Rumsfeld, they should let the generals kick ass , Get Ben N. back with him you will succeed.
