31. Again, Tzipi where are you?
Jonathan S ,   Frankfurt, Germany   (08.26.06)
This is just another proof that the foreign ministry is not present at all and constitutes a diplomatic disaster at all fronts. Tzipi Livni is kissing Solana instead, a well known enemy of Israel.
32. About Jerusalem, the capital of Israel
Larry ,   Eastbourne, UK   (08.26.06)
No other state has any right to tell Israel what its capital should be. Just because the Palestinians "want" East Jerusalem as the capital of a Palestinian state does not give them any entitlement to it. Some people are apparently unaware that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. Last Tuesday while watching the Maccabi Haifa v Liverpool football match I was astounded to hear the ITV commentator refer to "the Israeli capital Tel Aviv". I'm not sure if this was ignorance or malice.
33. bit of el salvador history.
TONY SACA ,   BETHLEHEM/ PALESTINE   (08.26.06)
Shafik Handal ran for president in 2004 and lost badly to 39-year-old businessman and radio personality Antonio Saca . Saca and Handal were as different politically as it is possible to be, but they had much in common personally. Both were from Palestinian immigrant families from Bethlehem. They were born within two blocks of each other in Usulatan, Handal on October 13, 1930, Saca much, much later. Saca accompanied the Handal family at the funeral, as much, perhaps, because of this affinity rather than protocol.
34. Adina Kutnicki
(08.26.06)
During the Lebanon war we did not come across any postings from you in Ynet. Were you hiding in a bunker in Skokie you chicken.
35. #2 Indeed you are right.
Amnon ,   Israel   (08.26.06)
Prince Saud Al-Faisal, the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, praised the decision of US President George W. Bush to once again delay the implementation of the decision of the US government to move its embassy to Jerusalem. "The embassy's movement is a recognition of Israeli fait accompli which is not wanted by anyone. Consequently, returning the U.S. policy to the previous position is welcomed," Al-Faisal to the Saudi news agency. http://israelnationalnews.com/news.php3?id=84135 Looking for our US supposed conservative supporters of Israel to comment on this however I won't hold my breath. Just like I am still waiting to hear something on why Bush called for a cease fire. No one wants to discuss either issue.
36. Thanks El Salvador
Arab ,   somewhere   (08.26.06)
I would like to extend my thanks to El Salvador president as well as the Costa Rican president. Israel, you can live if you let live.
37. A gentle rebuke to Mark (15): peace kills!
sk ,   USA   (08.26.06)
Mark, would you PLEASE stop with the peeeeeeeeeaaaace business? Peace kills! The word should be considered obscene in Israel. As long as Israelis chase peace, they will not have it. I don't need a Nobel Prize in mathematics to know this, but one Israeli who happens to have won that prize has made this point repeatedly. Let me give you an example, however. Let's say some Pals have a choice: store weapons in their houses or not. Israel has the choice to bomb the house and kill the residents or not. One game theory matrix looks like this: Avg "Pal" Store W Don't Bomb -10, -100 -50, -200 Israel Don't -50, 10 10, 0 I'm not sure if this will be formatted right, but the first number in each cell reflects the utility (or disutility) to Israel as a whole; the second reflects the utility to a given "Pal" who is considering storing or not storing weapons. It can be seen that if Israel plausibly promised to bomb if the Pal stored weapons, a rational Pal (?) would not store weapons and a rational Israel would not bomb. If, however, Israel plausibly promised not to bomb, a rational Pal would store weapons, as 10>0. Clearer now?
38. Shame!!
Chambita ,   ES   (08.26.06)
Israel & El Salvador always have a good relationship and move the embassy show a bad president choice, Saca 's Family is Palestinian and his govermment have new political relation's with qatar, another arabian conutry. maybe that's the reason.
39. Good step
Jeff ,   Canada   (08.26.06)
The moral of the world is waking up slowly but it is. It is not right and moral to have your embassy located on occupied wich equal to stolen territory. Israel think "like Kissinger said" if you repeat the lyies over and over it become truth.
40. Question
Ari ,   Montreal   (08.26.06)
Can anyone tell me where the United States embassy is: Jslm or T/A
41. Doesn't matter what ANYONE thinks- Jerusalem is our capital
Elle Sabu ,   Los Angeles, CA   (08.26.06)
and will remain forever. El Salvador? Do they matter in this world? At all? I know that in Los Angeles there are many maids here from El Salvador. I don't think this or anything can destroy Israel's spirit and love of Jerusalem.
42. #29 East Jerusalem is an Arab City
(08.26.06)
I believe E. Jerusalem must be the Palestinian capital and W. Jerusalem must be the Jewish capital. That is the only way
43. #16
Al ,   Salt Lake City   (08.26.06)
I wouldn't go as far as to say that Israel stands by us and defends us. I think it's definately the other way around. Secondly, i understand the current state of Arab emotion/hatred. They see themselves as the ugly step child due to our one-sided foreign policy. If we changed our foreign policy to be less biased, then in the future we will have a better chance in seeing mostly moderate Arabs that would be willing to get rid of extreme right/left wing factions. Of course that would be in an ideal world where politicians would have a "greater good" agenda rather than worrying about more power/ money and how do i get re-elected.
44. IN 20 YEARS: 1 COUNTRY CALLED JERUSALEM - NOT TWO STATES
ANDREW ,   MIAMI,FL   (08.26.06)
IMAGINE... - ONE COUNTRY (Neither israel nor palestine - but a country called Jerusalem / Al quds) - ONE PEOPLE (All citizens countrimen - jew christian, muslim) - ONE RELIGIOUS AUTHOURITY (all people are tought all three books - RA must be masters of all three - ONE DESTINY (together - we are Jerusalem - a higher meaning on the planet - will require stewardship mentality - not ethnic) - ONE PURPOSE (to be the worlds moral authority - to play a role that will be powerfull in making world peace) think about it...contact me if you'd like
45. When will Jerusalem become an International City?
Mark ,   Florida, USA   (08.26.06)
As an American of Jewish descent, I ask Isreal... Why not give Jerusalem to the World? Why not declare it an international city? Surely all faiths that trace their roots to Abraham respect eachother's claim to a history there. How would this situation change if we give one another the right to make pilgrimage to our holy land?
46. Since when is Brussels a divided city?
Lisa ,   NYC   (08.26.06)
Two languages not two countries. What map do you have at home? Have you been to East Berlin? Nicosia? Division does not work. UNITY! God plays tricks on us. Just as he confused our languages and scattered us, he made us all different, made us all see from different eyes. Many of us have the blinders of dogma and someone else's translation on. Man thinks he's very clever, but he is still very naive. Aleph, bet, black suit, white suit. A deaf, blind, mute, Tarzan probably would have the most original prayer. The trick is he does not want us all the same. I think that would bore Him, it would bore me and I'm only human. Honor God's touch upon each of us and all he has made, and God will return peace on earth.
47. Jerusalem belongs to the Jews not the Arab occupiers!
Palestiniansareamyth ,   USA   (08.26.06)
Mecca belongs to these Arab/Muslims and they should go back now!
48. West-Jerusalem was recognized as ours before 67!
sharon ,   Israel   (08.26.06)
the embassies were in western Jerusalem which was ours b4 1967, so wheres the problem if not to kiss arabs ass?
49. Jerusalem under international laws..
ayam   (08.26.06)
is an occupied city, i am with these countries who pull out their embassies from jerusalem as it is illegal unless they have them in western jerusalem. It is not complicated that each part can be the capital of each state. israel and palestine. Iam dreaming of that day when the israelis and palestinian leave in peace together with jerusalem the capital of both of them
50. Doesn't matter
Elisabeth ,   Netherlands   (08.26.06)
Amsterdam is the capital of Holland, but all the ambassies are in The Hague. It doesn't really matter. Jerusalem always was and always will be THE CAPITAL of Israel.
51. 18 Actually with the way christians
freedom ,   canada   (08.26.06)
are treated in Bethlehem, the birthplace of their messiah, I would think it is high time that the Palestinian Authority evacuate Bethlehem. All of Jerusalem should be under Jewish stewardship as Mecca is for muslims.
52. 24 The wheels are already in motion
freedom ,   canada   (08.26.06)
for longterm lower oil prices, then the middle east will become irrelevant and the stupidity of the present leaders and their squandering of oil wealth will be known.. Wonder how profitable it will be selling fruits and vegetables, will make it tough to buy weapons and support terror groups..
53. 29 After what the Palestinian Authority
freedom ,   canada   (08.26.06)
has done to Bethlehem I would champion the cause of east jerusalem being part of a jewish capital as well. When you learn to respect other people and their religions, I may change my mind. If you dont like it, you can leave..
54. 35 Bush you disappoint me....
freedom ,   canada   (08.26.06)
55. 39 If that is your thesis Jeff, then when
freedom ,   canada   (08.26.06)
does the jewish state get back the entire west bank.. and two, when does the palestinian authority evacuate the christian city of Bethlehem.
56. 42 . If you believe east jerusalem is
freedom ,   canada   (08.26.06)
a palestinian capital .. Then the Palestinian authority must evacuate Bethlehem immediately and the city must become a christian city state.
57. 44 Nice idea... uh.. where does Hizbullah
freedom ,   canada   (08.26.06)
fit in on all of this?
58. Does it matter, Arabs also say Spain belongs to them
(08.26.06)
and they want to take over Europe. In a few years they will try to take over the world. WHO CARES THEY WILL NOT SUCCEED.
59. TO ARIE # 26
GEORGES YOUNIS ,   LEBANON.   (08.26.06)
YOUR OLD ZIONIST DIRTY TRICK OF CLAIMING OF CHRISTIAN PERSECUTION BY MOSLEMS IN THE PALESTINIAN SOCIETY IS A CLEAR APPARENT LIE. YOU KEEP REPEATING IT AS NOBODY BELIEVES YOU. ACTUALLY IT THE ZIONISTS ARMY THAT DOES NOT RESPECT RELIGIONS IN THE AREA. A PROOF IS WHAT HAPPENED TO CHURCHES IN THE SOUTERN LEBANON CHRISTIAN VILLAGES OF KOZAH, ALMAT ALSHAAB, YAROUN, EIN EIBEL DIBEL AND MARJOUN ON THE HANDS OF YOUR COWARDLY IAF & IDF. THE DESACRATION OF THE CHURCHES AND LITTERING OF CHRISTIAN HOUSES IN THOSE VILLAGES WAS FULLY DOCUMENTED ON THE LEBANESE CHRISTIAN TV STATION THE LBC. SO ARIE YOU MORON JUST SHUT UP.
60. to # 22
Wissam ,   Beirut   (08.26.06)
I would advice if you do convert to islam without kidding for important reasons: jerusalem was under the islamic rule for ages and up to this date the christian and jewish establishments are still standing after all these years, there is still christian and jewish people in this area for centuries. Any open minded individual will take these things into consideration. Muslims have never prevented anybody from praying in their holy places, and has never attacked or burned the library in the holy church like "Israel" did during the seige of the palestinians in the church, and stopped the muslims from the age of 50 and under from going to the Aqsa mosk to pray on fridays like "Israel". For your own good uncover your eyes!!!
