LBC tv run by Israel's beloved son : Samir Jajaa ( a Maronite Militia leader were in Prison for a long time for murdering many Lebanese people) look whatever this new propoganda may contain it only proves israel's attempt to avoid tackling the core issues with lebanon, instead rely on propoganda and deceit. new flash; Beirut is not New York and Lebanon isnt the United States, the people of Lebanon know the Israeli propaganda machine like the back of their hands.

They think they are clever. Great - Lebanon have a hard time to get a potato chip together when Israel makes computer chips. Who pay the price for the hostilities? Poverty and misery is the only thing that the conflict brought to the Arabs. Any other civilized country or organization would have treated Arad according to his POW status - but not these duche bags
7. Lebanese Bastards....

...now decide to air a 'movie' almost 20 years after Ron Arad has gone missing! Do they think they will have a new bargaining chip for their cause. This is beyond outrage! Nothing on this planet is too low or too dirty or too ugly for the terrorists and their governments to do, use, manipulate, etc.

It was founded by Bachir Gemayel, it was the voice of the christians and we hope it will stay but does it broadcast the view of the lebanese forces anymore. Well I guess the right place for your nasralshaitan should be prison too for causing the deaths so many Lebanese people(mostly his own the shiites). At least Samir Ja3ja3 came out of prison making sense and wanting peace for his country unlike your fanatical leader. Samir paid for his crimes unlike Nasrallah Berri Frangieh Jinblat Aoun and so on. You know what Ja3ja3 and the LBC will always remain a thorn in your sides and you know what they are not going away, there to stay. You losers tried to get rid of them but they will stay. You talk about propaganda machines, well stop watching the Manar and the NTV, stupid Syrian propaganda.

15. Ron Arad & Reply to Elana
Lebanese ,   United Kingdom   (08.29.06)
First let me say that not all Lebanese, in fact most true Lebanese people didn't want the war and they mean no harm to anyone who doesn't harm us. We were dragged into a war that we didn't want. Ron Arad is a victim of a war that is decades old, he is among many other Lebanese prisoners as well; I truly hope he is still alive and to return to his family. As a reply to some Lebanese people that posted their opinion, I'd like to tell them that it is about time they stop pointing out fingers on who is to blame; no Lebanese leader, including Hasan Nasrallah and Samir Geagea have worked for the true benefit of a democratic, peaceful, and prosperous Lebanon. No one gave a damn about all those innocent people who died, injured, or lost someone; and yet now all what they do is shout here and there. As a reply to Elana; I don't know your political background, and I don't want to know. With all due respects, you have no idea of what has been going on since 1975. Ron Arad was a soldier, operating an aircraft that was killing people and destroying buildings, he was at the end doing his job and the people who kidnapped him were doing theirs as well. If "they" used him as a bargain object for negotiations, Israel and other countries are using thousands killed, injured, displaced, and jobless (including the figures in the July War.). Note that Israel still occupies a huge piece of land in south Lebanon, illegaly takes water from two main rivers in Lebanon, has prisoners that've been decades in Israeli prisons as well. Other bargains include, land, palestinian refugees, and many others; did you ever know that?. As for the government that you mocked, this government has opposed hezbollah of initiating a fight; and if it had the power it wouldve destroyed every single non-government militia on its territories LONG time ago. But thanks to your GOVERNMENT (not people) and some others, they want the Lebanese government to stay weak and to stay on its knees to submit to all political wars that Lebanon has nothing to do with. The Lebanese government which was recoverring by the previous Israeli/US wars and is now under additional billions of debt. Seriously, do some research; A real American knows his/her shit before starting to throw words here and there. And yea, try to imagine your country in that situation, where militias dont a shit about the government, innocent people dying, potential economy that is under constant attack, and a democracy that is supressed. What would you do. I understand your anger but why wouldn't you understand our anger about the thousands dead and billions lost, and go on cussing the government? Finally, I hope that all POW's earn their freedom and all those stupid leaders finally understand what peace and what humanity is. Stop the God damn wars, and sit on tables. And all congratulations to the Lebanese media who has proven itself during a massive war to bring quality stuff. Lebanon has paid more than its price for those wars, and intends to pay no more. Lebanese blood is no cheaper than any other blood in the world regardless of religion, origin, belief, or political view.
16. What crimes?!
To Lebanese ,   Lebanon   (08.29.06)
To the Lebanese guy in Australia. You said Ja3ja3 paid for all his crimes unlike so and so and General Aoun. Shame on you as a christian talk about the general. General Aoun is the only Lebanese patriot who never commited a crime, killed or stole, and above all, he never betrayed his country. Your leader is a criminal and he belongs only in jail.

It seems that ignorance and emotionalism are prevaling in your replies. Please take the time to read more about the long conflict in South Lebanon before formulating such radical, baseless, and emotional opinions and judgements. Here's for a start: http://www.commondreams.org/views06/0725-27.htm Finally i hope that Arad and all other prisoners whether Lebanese or Israeli are safe and return to their families soon.
18. To 16. YOU know what crimes.
Lebanese ,   Australia   (08.29.06)
I would love to enlighten you on Aoun's crimes but obviously you live in denial babe. LOL never betrayed his country, never stole or killed, hilarious. He is not a general , he is a former general. A nothing nowadays notta zip nothing zero. All he is doing nowadays is licking the asses of Hizballah and Syria to get to the chair. A power hungry man who will do anything to get the presidency, a hypocrite who denies killing all these christain men whether from the army or the Lebanese Forces in his socalled liberation war where he wanted to crush Damascus over AlAssad head, remember but then again his followers are like him with a short memory span. What did he do with the thousands and thousands of dollars donated to him?. Remember when he ran away to France and left those soldiers to be buthchered sweetie. By the way, I am a Christain woman who lost 2 cousins( one in the army and one with the LF)in the war your honourable(not) FORMER general waged to get to the presidential palace, the same reason he will have a breakdown soon because he will not get it. Ishba3 fee habibi. What crimes indeed lol.

Dear 'Lebanese', First let me praise you for your objective, honest, fair, and humane outlook on the situation. I agree with every single word that you said in your post. Good for you, it is nice to know that there are more people out there who are intelligent enough to look at the world with objective eyes. Things are not black or white, there is mostly grey. Things are never only what you see, there are many things we don't know about: exactly what happened, who, where, how, and why. There is no such things as 100% right or 100% wrong in this life. People, governments, history, life, is complex and so people should not be so quick to simplify everything. Lebanese, I side with you, on all that you said, and I sincerely respect you for that. Thank you for sharing with us; let's hope someone listens.

I was just wondering what would your government do if a military fighter airplane enters your airspace & bombs civilian areas? Would you take it down or not? Should we then call you terrorists and bastards or what else you were saying? "Ron Arad was shot down over Sidon (which is lebanese city) by terrorists". My God! How despicable! However, I truly hope that all POWs, including Arad, come back safely to their families.
21. Peace peace peace
Emma ,   Lebanon   (08.29.06)
Enough wars, enough prisoners, enough abduction. We are the nicest people in the world. We don't want our civil image tarnished by fanatical groups. We made our mistakes, we fought our wars, and now it is time to have peace. The Lebanese and the Israelis are blessed with living on the most coveted land on earth and they are the most evolved and democratic peoples of this wretched middle east.. Let's swap the goddamn POW's pay our dues and make peace and then this region will be the best in the whole world!
22. Reply to Honestone, TA, Israel
Maz ,   United Kingdom   (08.29.06)
Dear "Honestone", Thank you for your suportive response. In fact, Ron's issue is a true tragedy and many speculators believe he would be released soon; let's hope so. The history of wars between Lebanon and Israel is dirty, really dirty. The July war is now over, chances for a long-term peace is getting a little bit more possible. It's a tragedy how our governments and authorities don't care for what the people want. I give you my guarantee that no true Lebanese wants harm to Irsrael, people and land. I know the vice versa as well. Perhaps would we reach the point where it is possible for you to visit Beirut and I go over to Tel Aviv? The complex issues that you've talked about are real obstacles, but one time, sooner or later peace would remain as the last and only way out. That, would be victory. In the meantime let's hope no more wars break off between the two of us and for both of us to get down to business and solve our INTERNAL problems first, and then sit down for negotiations. Enough killing, Enough destruction. Finally, I'd like to thank Ynet for giving us the opportunity for us to communicate, media has always been a support to those issues and the Israeli/Lebanese media have been doing a fantastic job so far; They proved to be the best in the region. Thank you for sharing with us too, and let's also hope someone listens :) Maz
23. respond to the "terorist from lebanon"
Third eye ,   Cyprus   (08.30.06)
We accepted here in Cyprus almost 60000 people who left Lebanon during the war and we tried to give as much as we could to them because every single one is a human beeing. Each soul weights the same to our eyes no matter what each one's nationality is. And no to shoot down a jet bombing your house is one thing but making a horor movie with one prisoner or hostage or whatever takes human value much lower from where it should have been.

paul ,   lebanon beyrouth   (08.30.06)
i think the lbc is a station that works to israel so why now suddenly when the war was finished the tape and i thin k an old tape for ron arad appears because they wont to say that why hezbollah didnt exange ron arad with the lebanese prisoners in israel why did hezbollah captured two isreali soldiers and they have one with them they are blaming hezbollah of his act to show to lebanese people that hezbollah is a terrorist group that want the destruction of lebanon in blaming him that he had one soldier that can solve the problem of the lebanese prisoners and with out doing this nowing that was a planed war between some lebanese some arabs and america and israel
26. A Valued discussion...
Maz ,   United Kingdom   (08.30.06)
After I've posted #15, i felt an urge to post another response, #22. Now i feel i want to write more an more, for a simple reason. As a Lebanese, I am pretty confident that the level of the discussion we run here is at an extraordinary level, in fact it is more peaceful, intellectual, consctructive, and good-willing than all those political discussion going on between the two countries. Third eye, #23, thank you, Cyprus has always been there for Lebanon, and many other neighboring countries regardless of nationality. It's also a beautiful place. Scott,#24, may God bless you too. Like Lebanese and Israeli cities and villages, Haifa paid a good price of this war as well. I hope you were able to come safely back.
27. Elana's Response
Elana ,   USA   (08.30.06)
Let me state my observations, as I see it (again). 1. There is a Geneva Convention, whether or not Lebanon observes it remains to be seen. 2. Nasrallah, is dancing in place, saying that he would never have ordered the cross border raid/murder of Israelis (two of whom remain under there control) 3. And in the very same breath the television decides to air a film of Ron Arad! This has got to be the most calculated and abusive images used in the media (not incuded the 'green helmeted man' who was photographed in too many scenarios) and later discredited along with REUTERS. 4. If Lebanon's is a puppet, then its puppeteer is not only Syria, Iran, but also France, who did Lebanon a diservice by not providing the support militarily and economically that was needed. Alors, France would sacrifice its first born to keep themselves out of harms way. 5. There is no doubt war is difficult, ugly and somedays ruthless. This fact, in no way, is to be interrpreted as to give anyone the right to dangle images of a missing man (Ron Arad) in front of children, who have not seen him, nor his extended family. 6. All or some of you may quote facts from the present or past, but the realities bend the facts on the ground. Finally, if you think that Lebanon was failed - you can blame the UN/UNIFIL as they watched Hezbollah build bunkers and fire Katruska rockets for years. THEY certainly had to know that Israel would finally defend herself. Since most members of the UN are not pro-Israel nor pro-USA, I was hasten a guess here that they rather like the fact that Lebanon is used as a political football. SOLUTION: Lebanon would do well to politically align itself with the West (the east has turned their backs on her).
28. Reply to Elana-Part 1
Maz - Lebanese ,   United Kingdom   (08.30.06)
Elana, thanks for the response. I though of replying to your points, one by one if you don't mind. 1. Concerning the Geneva Convention, bear in mind that this agreement applies to all sides, not only Lebanon... and please note... the Lebanese government is not the one who is imprisoning Ron Arad or the other two Israeli soldiers!! the Israeli newspapers and politicians even said that!! the people who have the prisoners are MILITIAS, i.e. non-gov. entities who have access to weapons and who excercise force without the approval of any government or convention. 2. Concerning Nasrallah, he'd better regret it!! he caused trouble in the region; he stated that he intended the kidnapping of the 2 soldiers to force the Isareli side to exchange Lebanese prisoners in Israel. Anyway I do not and will not support him. I have no idea why you mentioned Nasrallah and this war, what does this subject has to do with Ron? 3. Concerning the television, LBCI: a private media company in Lebanon; they were intending to air the video four months ago not now and the video was prepared long before the fight, (Check Haaretz and Yediot newspapers, they said that as well.). If you mentioned something about the same breath, LBCI is Christian oriented, founded by a Christian force which till now, opposes Hizbullah. After all, consider that the video was aired (supposed to be aired on Monday), doesnt such kind of release of information induce a drop in the pressures between the two sides, Hizbollah and Israel? Remember, Hizbollah wasn't giving any PIECE of information about Ron for the past 20 years, i.e. unfortunately they were using him as a strategic option, Now, giving more information about Ron, doesn't that imply that this militia is giving up some military tactics? Concerning the abusive images, with all respects, why don't you see the images and videos of the victims of the war? try googling: "From Israel to Lebanon", I guarantee that you will have a trauma for a full day. Also, check the images and videos about the casualties and damages in Haifa, Naharayya, and lots more. You will see much more pictures than the ones discredited by REUTERS.. :) 4- Concerning the "puppets" it might be wise to show some respect for a country. The Syrian "puppeteers" are no longer there because we ran a 1.5 million man march against them and succeeded. Iran has authority only on Hizbollah. Did it ever occur to you that the US and UK forbid the supply of arms to Lebanese Army? Who said that we didn't place buying offers? You know what US agreed to sell us? 12 helicopters that were used in the VIETNAM WARS! that is the airforce we're allowed to have. hehe. Alors. France was a contributor to force Syria out, it was THE major contributor in the rise of the economy from 1990 till now. Donc (French, like Alors), again I tell you, research my friend :). By the way, Are you a republican? :) --Allocated words over, continued on the following post--
29. Reply to Elana-Part 2
Maz - Lebanese ,   United Kingdom   (08.30.06)
........................ 5. I repeat much of my 3rd point. A video of a man alive is much better than images and videos of 3-months old babies and innocent women torn into pieces. The images still haunt me in my sleep for Christ’s sake. Besides, that might be a good sign for Ron's family to see him alive. Besides, his children would see their dad, a hero, wouldn't you agree? 6. For this answer, check Resolution 425 and 426 which approved the formation of UNIFIL. Check their responsibilities and their authorities. THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO FIRE A SINGLE BULLET! I blame the World opinion and conscious! Not only UNIFIL! I won't discuss the motives of the firing of Katyousha(not Katruska) rockets because its another huge story. Don’t believe what ever you see on TV, see the other side of an argument too. SOLUTION: Very simple, LEAVE LEBANON ALONE! Who told you we’re not aligned with the west? The west is not only the US, it is also others, like France (whom you mocked). We have great diplomatic relations with the States but they won't seriously help us for free... it's a beautiful place with lots of educated people down there, we have a kick ass tourism industry. Lebanon has survived a lot and this country is still booming in economy. It is not a desert country where tribes slaughter each other. The militias will be disamred by negotiations and they will, the Israeli PM said that himself!... But at the end, no matter what haters do, we will make peace with Israel, and it will be greater than all optimistic and pessimistic (which is your) expectations. Peace will arrive to the Middle East, at least between Lebanon and Israel... it will be a true peace agreement. In the meantime, perhaps it's logical to stop killing each other and exchange the prisoners, as a kind gesture?:) The Lebanese and the Israelies have the right to live in peace as well. Give peace a freaking chance! All the best Maz
