Olmert's a fine one to talk about arrogance! He's the most corrupt and arrogant PM Israel's ever had! Israel needs a strong, democratic government, whose main concern should be the protection of the Israelis, not the opinion of internationals, or filling their own pockets. Israel needs patriotic, solid leaders, who will implement a proper constitution, change the way elections are held, and allow Israelis to have proportional voting by electing their local MKs, instead of voting for one party. If this happens, a lot of corruption will disappear overnight, because no-one will vote for anyone with dirt on their hands. Get a new government who will protect the people, the land, and won`t be manipulated by the international leaders who don`t care about Jews!

This whole argument about whether the political echelon made the right decisions during wartime reminds me of something that happened over 50 years ago. When I was a soldier in the US Army during the Korean War, the Chinese army crossed the Manchurian border with over 1 million soldiers. We were badly outnumbered and General MacArthur wanted to bomb the Chinese supply routes over the border in China, even advocating the use of tactical nuclear weapons. President Truman would not permit this to happen, and roundly fired MacArthur. We, as soldiers, were really pissed off at Truman, and blamed the resulting cease-fire (instead of victory) on him. Now, 53 years later, there is still only a cease-fire. Remarkably, Truman today is fondly remembered as a good president, with many saying he was one the the great presidents. Maybe the result of bombing China at that time would have resulted in a world war. On the other hand, maybe it would have resulted in complete victory for us, and the menace of North Korea wouldn't have existed today. So who really knows what would have happened if anything different were done in Lebanon. I personally think we shouldn't have stopped the all-out attack when we did, but, as I said, who knows what would have happened. Maybe the Syrians would have entered the fray. Even though we can kick Syria's ass, they do have thousands of missiles, with chemical and biological warheads. So we could have had thousands of civilian casualties. So, you see, being Prime Minister of Israel is no easy job. No matter what he does, he'll be condemned by groups of people. Personally, I'll vote for Bibi as soon as elections are held, but I'm against all this talk of Olmert resigning. I can't imagine Bush resigning before his term is up because people don't like his handling of the war in Iraq. We Israelis and Americans both live in democratic societies, and changes are made in the voting booths.
