Skinheads attack 2 Israelis in Belgrade     Associated Press
1. MSM
well, reuters, AP, AFP, CNN, BBC, and all the rest of you, corrupted news outlets, you must be really proud of yourselves now

2. Growing anti-Semitism in Hungary too
It's very sad!!! Unfortunately similar attacks may happen in Budapest too. Last time it took more than a week until anti-Semitic graffiti -KILL THE JEWS!- in Budapest's city centre coud disappear. Since the Lebanon war anti-Semitism is growing each day. Neo-Nazi party - MIEP - used a Lebanease flag during its demonstration on a national day in order to show the public Muslims and Nazis in Europe are "good friends" as they share the same enemy.

3. I've said this numerous times
and I repeat again: all Jews outside Israel should ALWAYS carry devices for self-protection: from truncheons to Mace to stun guns to firearms. I wear a kipah and have experienced several sticky situations and nearly got myself beaten up or worse but was always able to repel my attackers.
Michael Steiner   (08.29.06)
4. jews in serbia should carry guns or stun guns
so they can protect themselves, especially since the police do nothing. that makes serbia a lawless country where jews are in danger.

Another "unpleasant" warning from Hashem for Diaspora Jews to come home to Eretz YisraeL !!!!

6.  To #1
Did they exist in the thirties too? The media has nothing to do with this. Biaised reporting there is but skinheads do not become violent because having watched a documentary on Fox news or the BBC. I can imagine that if an arab came up, they would not be that kind either. Here in Slovakia, a long haired student was murdered by skinheads. He was neither a Jew nor an Arab nor a Gipsie...And there was no report against long haired students on Fox or CNN. Hatred against Jews goes a long way. If we listened to extreme Christians and Muslims, we are responsible of all that goes wrong in the world...

Add Seattle to your list of dangerous places for Jews.
Mikulas ,   Bratislava, Slovakia   (08.29.06)
8. #3 is right
It's unfortunate but necessary that Jews everywhere know how to defend themselves. I go so far as to suggest that Community Centers offer self defense courses and martial arts classes. To simply expect for police or bystanders come to your aid is naive and dangerous, however sad. A few thousand years of this abuse confirms this.

Have you read #2? The media nowadays (and I am talking about news items, not documentaries) are practically collaborating with terrorist organizations. Certainly almost everything coming out of Gaza and Lebanon is Palliwood or Hezbollywood produced. Take a tour of You tube and see for yourself.

11. What are 2 Jewish boys doing...
at a rock concert in Serbia, no less! That's inviting trouble.
bill handel ,   brooklyn,usa   (08.29.06)
12. did you check the news?
Well, they were not attacked by skinheads than ONE American citizen of Serbian origin!! Mr. Avram has a light injury, Mrs. Petkovic was not attacked, and it's not true that police didn't react. It was so-called "men fight" during rock-concert, and Mr. Avram refused to indentify the attacker to police. So, this kind of journalism here in Israel is not helpfull too, and makes enemies with no good reason. I am Belgrade Jew, who now lives in Jerusalem, so I know how good and safe it is to be a Jew in Serbia. These informations are officialy published this afternoon on Serbian national TV. Stop with general paranoic behaviour.
Bibi, Jerusalem   (08.29.06)
13. #4 everybody, everywhere should be allowed to keep/bear arms
for self-defence. The right to self-defence - and the right to possess the arms in which to exercise it - is a basic human right. You can start at home by abolishing Israel's illegitimate gun-control (aka "victim disarmament") laws, as imposed by the illegitmate British regime, that would have left the Jews at the mercy of invading Arab armies in the war of 1948, and that today leaves innocent Israeli citizens at the mercy of terrorists, criminals and depressed "Basic Training" dropouts. http://www.jpfo.org/jewsandguncontrol.htm

14. Understanding Skinheads
Skin heads are angry and full of hate. They are individuals who choose to join a group to express their belief that it is someone elses fault - Jews, Blacks, etc. The reason they are looking for someone to balme is that the footfalls of God's curses keep blindsiding them. This leaves them confused and scared, very scared. They can't see Hashem because he is hiding from them as a curse in itself. They know something is wrong and they feel the sinking as they slip into the dark abyss. They have no choice in their confusion but to blame it on something or someone they can identify because they have lost connection with God and blessings. Poor confused souls. Who can give back last night?
Josh ,   Tel Aviv   (08.29.06)
15. today I feel shame
We (serbians) have done some very nasty things during the 90s, but we were NEVER in our history anti-semitic. This was a very big news here in Belgrade. You can find out more about the history of the Jews in Serbia here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Jews_in_Serbia .

23. #21 jj
What price should Muslims pay for speading hate and trying to kill anyone who disagrees with them. What price should Muslims pay for trying very hard to kill ONLY civilians. I am fascinated by the frequent argument that Jews think one Jewish life is more important than a hundred Arabs. Jews do not have to apologize for valuing their own lives in the face of an adversary who "loves death" more than life - others or their own.

What do you imagine, primitive muslim, will be the price islam will must pay for killing people (christians, jews, hinduists) who don't believe in your barbaric religion?

25. #21, spoken like a true terrorist!
What Israel did in Lebanon was a response to terror. The fact that Hezballah cowards hide among civilians is not Israel's fault. Maybe you should condemn those who put women and children in harms way??? I guess your brain doesn't worl like that though, does it? Maybe it doesn't work at all.

26. An apology from Novi Sad, Serbia
Dear friends, (and I'm glad we still have friends in Israel and amongst the Jews worldwide) I'm a Serb from Serbia, an Orthodox Christian and a Serbian patriot and first of all I want to say I'm very sorry for this unfortunate and shameful event that occured a few days ago in Belgrade. I DO APOLOGIZE, on behalf of my people, to Mr. Jariv Avram and Mrs. Bojana Petkovic for this awful incident, and to all others who may be offended by this shameful act of a very few of our nationals. I am assuring you that Serbia is still very Jewish-friendly country - just as it has been throughout all of its history, ever since the Jews had come to these grounds. And please, let me remind you that Serbia is still the country with minimal amount of anti-Jewish incidents in Europe. For instance, in the year 2005 we had only one anti-semitic incident, involving some graffiti writings and anti-Jewish slogans. This one was the first in the year 2006 (and I really hope that was the last one, at least for this year). And, as far as I know, neither one Jew has been killed in anti-semitic incidents in Serbia in the last 20 years, which, unfortunately, hasn't been the case in some "beacons of democracy", like the UK or USA. Yet, only one anti-Jewish incident in Serbia is one too many, 'cos our two nations have always been living in peace and mutual consideration and respect - and dying together, too, on the same side - whether it was in NDH's Jasenovac, or in Nazi occupied Serbia in WWII, or even in the recent years, under the NATO bombs or KLA terrorist attacks in Kosovo and Metohija. That's why I am truly sorry that some of my people perceive Jews as enemies, while at the same time embracing the ideology of Nazism that cost us 1 500 000 souls in WWII. But, the story of emerging antisemitism in Serbia is yet to be told. Thanx to Bibi and others who took an objective and impartial approach on this issue. Sincerely, MeahevServi :)

27. I was born and raised in Belgrade,
and now I live in Israel. Belgrade (and old Yugoslavia) was one of the few places in the world where anti-semitism was NOT an issue. I lived there and went to school until I was 25 and I never experienced anything even similar. I think dumbheads can be found everywhere, even in Israel. What I do when I am not in Israel, I just don't bother telling people where I come from, because one can never know. That's all. As I can see in other talkbacks people are calling for Jews to carry guns and other weapons when not in Israel. In my view that can only help identify Israelis in the future. After all we are like all other people, just people, and history did show us that wearing "signs" that can easily identify Jews was not a good deal. Moreover, to carry weapons does mean one should be ready use them and then, well, think for yourselves what would be written in the news. "Two drunk and gun-happy Jews kill 4 Serbians in a bar brawl." This is an unfortunate incident and I do feel for the victims, but as I said, nobody can and should know if I am Jewish or Israeli, if I don't tell them or show it in some way.

28. No Place is safe for a Jew.
All though Israel is about as safe as it is going to get. An interesting book to read is "The Secret War against the Jews" ISBN # 0-312-15648-0 by John Loftus and Mark Aarons. If any American Jews think we are safe in the US, better think again! In the next 15 to 20 years, we'll get kicked out of the US or be arrested for being Jews. The writing is on the wall. It's all about Greed, Money, and OIL.

29. Not really ...
Attacks on Jews are isolated incidents. Serbia is recovering from total collapse of civilization that happened during the ex-YU wars. Police is cleaning the streets, but it will take some time. P.S. Serbs think of Jews as their friends, we shared the same fate in Jasenovac.
