1. War in Lebanon
Patte ,   USA   (09.03.06)
Please read this article - it's so true! http://www.menapress.com/article.php?sid=1479 "The most hypocritical people on earth"
2. So How Soon Can We Expect This Gov't To Become ACHORA?
H ,   Jerusalem   (09.03.06)
3. Yes, but
Sidney ,   USA   (09.03.06)
It is certainly true that this government must be replaced, but let it not be forgotten that the previous Likud government shares much of the responsibility for the lack of preparation for the war. Even if you believe that were Ariel Sharon still in charge the outcome would have been different and better, he is responsible for chosing a lot of mediocre, yes-men as his top aides.
4. This Kadima Coalition Must Fall!!!
stude ham ,   outremont, canada   (09.03.06)
it demonstrated an incompetence that has vastly harmed Israel. It cannot be allowed to continue.
5. To Patte , RE #1
Gegorge ,   Atlanta, GA   (09.03.06)
It's a good link. However, with all the good, a lot of bad undoubtedly came to light about Olmert's bunch handling the war. And apart from the embarrassing for any Jew anywhere incompetence, the worst thing that happened was the missed opportunity to dramatically change strategic balance in the area. Instead, there will be the second round - more difficult and unnecessary one. And, to Olmert, take all of your people and go away.
6. Finally !!
malcolm   (09.03.06)
The Bibster is finally making his move. Get Shas to pull the plug and it's Showtime. Bring Arens into the picture and it's a done deal. Livni and Olmert will be back behind a desk somewhere practicing law where they belong.
7. Kadima
mark ,   tel aviv   (09.03.06)
to hell. Nothing less.
8. to #3, the previous likud gov't was run by kadima
aaron ,   ra'anana   (09.03.06)
Sharon, Livni, Olmert, Mofaz, etc... while its very convienent to blame Bibi for everything, you can't blame him for Oslo, the unilateral abandonment of south lebanon, and the disengagement and turning gaza into a Hamas terrorist state.
9. and Silvan should be exiled to Kadima...
aaron ,   ra'anana   (09.03.06)
he's Olmert by any other name...
10. Dalia Itzik speaks for Kadima
Coon ,   USA   (09.03.06)
I did not know until I looked her up. Dalia is the 17th Knesset speaker since 1949, Joseph Shprinzak (Mapai) being the first. If Likud is wise, Likud will not to join this government. Will Likud go back into the political wilderness yet again? Likud stayed and stayed in the Sharon coalition. Even when "disengagement" was a certainty. Likud has suffered for it because they let their base down terribly. Why would any party that supports the integrity of the land of Israel join a government bent on uprooting Jews from our land and giving it to our enemies?
11. GREAT ARTICLE PATTE THANKS (end)
the rest of us ,   pennsylvania, usa   (09.03.06)
12. Either Kadima Goes or Israel Is Done
Jerry ,   NYC, USA   (09.03.06)
Israel cannot survive with the inept criminal cowards that comprise Kadima in power. It is a matter of national survival that Kadima/Labor go.
13. And what did Netenyaho do when he was PM?
fadi ,   lebanon   (09.03.06)
Did he have the courage to go to an all out war against hizbollah same like olmert!? nope . Why you should ask him !?? Big mouth no action !? and now that olmert was stupid enough to carry out war he encouraged him cause he knew of the consequences. Now hes letting him to fall down in order to become PM again. What would u expect from someone who was doing all his best to bring sharon down just fo him to become PM!??? As long as israelis are doing this to each other we just have to sit down and watch
14. #8, your defense of Benjamin Netanyahu
steve ,   USA   (09.03.06)
I am still very disappointed in Mr. Netanyahu. Is he better that many? Is he a man of Jewish courage and conviction? He abandoned significant parts of Hebron, shook hands with the mass-murderer of Jews, Yasser Arafat and signed the Wye River accords in the presence of the treacherous Bill Clinton. Has he learned from his mistakes? He stayed in the Sharon coalition, voting for budgets that funded the Gaza expulsion. Yes, he did finally resign as Cabinet minister but he waited to the very last moment. Has Mr. Netanyahu learned? Please tell me and I will support him. He is a knowledgeable and intelligent man but does he have integrity?
15. Let this miserable useless government fall!
Avraham ,   Netivot   (09.03.06)
16. Bibi & lieberman must not save the disengagementists!
Joel ,   Ramar Gan   (09.03.06)
Only real solution is elections soon! Olmert should join his family in Hul
17. #8,#14
Sidney ,   USA   (09.03.06)
My comment was not about Netanyahu, but Likud. My personal preference would be: Benny Begin-Prime Minister, Moshe Arens-Defense Minister, Netanyahu- Finance Minister.
18. To #13 Fadi, Lebanon
Christian Bianrossa ,   NJ, USA   (09.03.06)
And you don't have problems within the Lebanese gov't? You are a funny girl Fadi. Anytime there is a Lebanese anti-Syrian parliament member he gets killed by the Syrians and you consider the Syrian regime your friends! Lebanon is on the brink of collapse, I'd spend less time at YNET and more time at the Daily Star if I were you Fadi.
19. Au revoir Olmert, see you in France
Jenny   (09.03.06)
20. Let the goverment fall.Great idea.BUT---
ERIC,,,,,, ,   ISRAEL   (09.03.06)
the big question who is next?Bibi and his pals, big mistake.Bibi and the rest made more blunders than this goverment that we have today. But the war in Lebanon put the brakes on a goverment that had potential. What we need is new faces. We have such brain power in this country, its sad its not used.Bibi is a obnoxious, arrogant politician. He shows no compassion for the poor. The Likud with Bibi as leader and his cronies is a bad option for Israel.
21. maybe the likud
aaron ,   ra'anana   (09.03.06)
I have never voted for the Likud and I agree that Netanyahu's Wye agreement was not so great but I think he's the most elequent statesman the right wing has got. Until the country is ready for Effie Eitam or Benny Elon as prime minister, Netanyahu is a uniting choice for all zionist parties. On the other hand I voted for Sharon (against Barak) and in retrospect I really regret it. But who knew Sharon would use the disengagement gambit as a cynical ploy to escape his legal problems.
22. #20, But for the war, this government had potential?
steve ,   USA   (09.03.06)
You wrote: "But the war in Lebanon put the brakes on a goverment that had potential." Yes, we know had there not been a war in Lebanon and had it not gone poorly for this government, this government would be making war on the fine residents of Judea and Samaria, uprooting tens of thousands. Like the former residents of Gush Katif, our Jewish brothers and sisters would be languishing in tents and trailers. This is potential? Rockets would be falling on the cities of our coast from Ashkelon to Haifa and on the Ben Gurion airport. We would be besieged on every side, in the north, the south and on the east. Why do you call this potential?
23. a change from kibbutzniks; who knows may be!
(09.03.06)
24. Steve#22.You read the future pretty well.
ERIC,,, ,   ISRAEL   (09.03.06)
I disagree with you a little.I am not a fortune teller, but who knows.I dont think that we are that dumb. Thanks for reply and have a good day
25. Thanks Eric
steve ,   USA   (09.03.06)
That's what I like about Talk Back. It gives us a chance to dialogue. G-d willing, I'll be joining you permanently in Israel in a year or two. Then we can discuss face to face.
26. THE PLAN OF THIS WAR WAS MADE BY NETANYAHU
observer   (09.03.06)
when he met in washinghton with cheney in the beginning of this year & after he convinced olmert . Now netanyahu is trying to get benefit to himself from even the negative results of this war .It's disgraceful from him to get politic benefit from the pain & blood of israelis
27. Opportunists. The Whole Rotten Bunch Glued To Their Seats
Adina Kutnicki ,   US   (09.03.06)
There certainly is an emergency in Israel's gov't. The emergency is to topple the regime, not to save it. As to who will be more qualified (less corrupt) to run the regime, that is the open question. If Israel does not change its system of gov't from the corrupt party lists to direct representative elections, the gov't will fall under its own corrupt weight. Time will tell.
28. #25
advisor   (09.03.06)
you better stay in USA as wise people (olmert) do by keeping their sons in USA so not to endanger their lives
29. Kadima, Kadima
Marya ,   sacramento, USA   (09.04.06)
Straight to HELL!!
30. #28 What is wrong with this picture?
steve ,   USA   (09.04.06)
Advisor, Isn't there something very wrong with this picture? Why would a Jewish prime minister keep his Jewish sons in the USA so as not to endanger their lives? What kind of a prime minster would do this? What kind of example is he setting for the nation?
