2. anan's mouth runneth over
alan ,   frisco   (09.05.06)
Iran defied the UN deadline. What does the UN do? Appease Iran. Instead of sending Anan to make another foolish move, we should be sending the USS Abraham L. Ahmad sent tens of thousands of children to their death on mine fields. He murdered these children. He is a war criminal. Anan should not give him the time of day
3. the best
Dr. NO ,   Jerualem   (09.05.06)
Iran can do in order to calm the world's restlessness over its nuclear arms race would be to simply give it up for the time being, stop calling for the destruction of Israel and stop financing Hezbollah.
4. Sure thing, Kofi. Let's leave the Iranians alone...
CK Tan ,   Singapore, Singapore   (09.05.06)
...., bury our heads in the sand and everything will be fine (and of course, the Iranian terrorist government will contribute millions to your retirement fund).
5. not isolate Iran?
Lance ,   NY, USA   (09.05.06)
With all due respect, the international community should in fact isolate Iran. This regime is powered by Satan and/or the arrogance of human free will, a wonderful gift from God abused by those in temporary authority. How sad too many in Iran -- and elsewhere -- will perish because they believe the lies. (see Ezekiel 38, 39) Come Lord Jesus Come!
6. DON'T ISOLATE IRAN.
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (09.05.06)
Now Kofi Annan will be the culprit. So, whoever speaks after reviewing the situation and suggesting something worth pondering becomes a culprit.Well, he is not the only one who has suggested not to islate Iran. Some more dignitaries will follow to say the same.Keep your count, readers.
7. Non Issue
William Ashley ,   Waterloo, ON, ICCD   (09.05.06)
Nuclear bombs arnt the worst thing around; however, I personally think we should be allowed to safely and freely explore technology. It is actually a reversal of the revolutionary anti science stance. It is shameful that we will shut down increase of capabilities. Pakistan has had nuclear bombs and it feels like Iran is more stable then Pakistan. Yet the US sends jet aircraft to pakistan. It is a non issue. If the US and allies didn't develope nuclear defences during the cold war, then this peaceful nuclear technology, or even if it fosters a weapons program the defences are existant to stop such an issue. Meanwhile China and Russia Irans S5 supporters very much do have nuclear weapons. The blatant interference by NATO countries on other countries sovereignty has got to stop, because it deteriates peaceful capacity in the world. Simply in this day and age NATO is the offensive agressor exporting European and American ideologies by force.
8. Annan: Who do you Think Your'e Fooling?
maura collins ,   Ireland   (09.05.06)
The U.N. has been irrelevant for such a long time now I thought that people in the know might have noticed. Apparently not. While Iran goes nuclear, Annan plays footsie with Ahmadinejad and ends up with empty hands. What,if anything, is this useless organisation in existence for? They are corrupt, lazy and incompetent, top heavy with third worlders, and occupy prime real estate in New York that any real estate agency would drool to get its hands on. But no, you can't evict this gang, as they have 'diplomatic credentials' stamped on their forehead, and be it a parking spot or dining out, disappearance of aid money or sexual harassment, they flash those foreheads each and every time they go to the trough. These are the people you think may be in a position to impose their will on Dafur or Iran or BallyJamesDuff? My suggestion would be to banish them to one of the most poor countries in Africa, and allow them to live as the citizens there do. The bright lights of Broadway distracts them, so a bit of peace and quite may help Koffi and Son do what they were hired to do: Work. PS Is there such a thing as an "International Community"? Didn't think so.
9. Oh Yah! and let's isolate Israel....
stude ham ,   outremont, canada   (09.05.06)
Let the gullible swallow the UNcrap... It's ok for Iran to get its nuke armaments... it's not ok for Israel to get cluster bombs... it's ok to keep saying hello to iran... it's not ok to have anything to do with israel... kofi is as much of an idiot as olmert.
10. Isolation
al mann ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (09.05.06)
The only country isolated and condemned before the facts are known is Israel. Iran has nothing about which to be concerned.
11. TREACHEROUS UN Broadcast Israeli WAR Troop Movements
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (09.05.06)
Who will be such fools as to trust the security of the free world with the UN? Supporters and allies of Islamic terrorists, the UN betray Israel and the free world. The UN are a threat to every innocent on earth. Declare the anti-Jew anti-humanity UN resolution null and void. No UN "peace keepers" for terrorists! Israel MUST survive! www.theweeklystandard.com What did you do in the war, UNIFIL? You broadcast Israeli troop movements. by Lori Lowenthal Marcus 09/04/2006, DURING THE RECENT month-long war between Hezbollah and Israel, U.N. "peacekeeping" forces made a startling contribution: They openly published daily real-time intelligence, of obvious usefulness to Hezbollah, on the location, equipment, and force structure of Israeli troops in Lebanon. UNIFIL--the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, a nearly 2,000-man blue-helmet contingent that has been present on the Lebanon-Israel border since 1978--is officially neutral. Yet, throughout the recent war, it posted on its website for all to see precise information about the movements of Israeli Defense Forces soldiers and the nature of their weaponry and materiel, even specifying the placement of IDF safety structures within hours of their construction. New information was sometimes only 30 minutes old when it was posted, and never more than 24 hours old... Meanwhile, UNIFIL posted not a single item of specific intelligence regarding Hezbollah forces... http://www.theweeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/012/622bqwjn.asp
12. Dear Mr.Kofi Annan:
zabarbie ,   raanana   (09.05.06)
Interesting,- imagining the present UN secretary-general in germany in 2. world war. "Hitler has to find a way to calm the world ?" "We should not isolate germany! "might have been your words... Well actually those would not have been your word, considering Hitlers racism against black people. How practical that irans president statements are only antisemitic... You never surprise me, -actually we did not expect anything differnt from you. We are very glad to hear about you in the media anymore after the UN elections, soon.
13. dont isolate them ...do what to them then

14. Iran: Annan's weapon to destroy Israel
Moshe ,   Jerusalem   (09.05.06)
Annan has consistently bashed Israel, made anti-Israel comments, and been against Israel in its attempts to defend itself. He wants Israel gone, as does the multitude of Islamic states in the U.N. Annan is doing nothing but enabling Iran to develop the nuclear capabilities of destroying Israel for him.
15. Quick reaction to Iran threat
Michel ,   France   (09.05.06)
Iran seems very much like Germany in the 1930's: always testing the public's reactions to its increasing aggressiveness. Now Iran is very dangerous: they have a good army and a lot of civilian nutcases supporting their president (again v. much like Germany). So it will cost lives to do something, a lot of lives. Tomorrow the bill will be more costly. Tough peacefiul action must be taken now with diplomatic relations severed, embargo on whisky which should hit the mollahs hard, and more seriously plans to quickly get rid of Ahmadinejad without too much innocent blood being spilled.

17. Koffi au lait Annan: Don´t isolate Iran....
Uziel   (09.05.06)
.... Don´t sanction (commercially) Iran.... .... Don´t attack Iran.... .... Gosh! Iran tested a nuclear device just few minutes ago... ....Oooops, Iran launched a nuclear attack on Israel and wiped off the country.... ....well nevermind it is not so serious...(and that´s why I´m being paid of...)
18. Take a hike Kofi. US acts independently, the Gulf is filling
(09.05.06)
"Lebanese Security" Is ...Pretext The extraordinary buildup of European naval and military strength ...around Lebanon's shores is way out of proportion for the task ... to create a buffer between Israel and Hizballah. ...peacemaking is not the object of the exercise. It is linked to ... anticipation of a military clash between the United States and Israel, on one side, and Iran and possibly Syria on the other, some time from now until November. This ..has brought together the greatest sea and air armada Europe has ever assembled at any point on earth since World War II: 2 carriers with 75 fighter-bombers, spy planes and helicopters on their decks; 15 warships of various types – 7 French, 5 Italian, 2-3 Green, 3-5 German, and 5 American; thousands of Marines – French, Italian and German, as well as 1,800 US Marines. European naval forces cruising off Lebanese shores are roughly ten times as much as the UNIFIL contingents require... especially when UNIFIL's duties are strictly non-combat. After all, none of the UN contingents will be engaged in disarming Hizballah or blocking the flow of weapons incoming from Syria and Iran. ...what is this fine array of naval power really there for? European forces... to prevent a possible Iranian-US-Israeli war...; ...to dissuade ... a second front against American and Israel from their eastern Mediterranean coasts. Numbers ... do not do justice to the immense operational capabilities and firepower amassed opposite Lebanon. ... The USS Mount Whitney (the tallest snowcapped peak in the United States), has the most sophisticated command and control suite in the world. Like the French Charles De Gaulle , it exercises command over a task force of 1,800 sailors, Marines, Air force medical and other personnel serving aboard the USS Barry, the USS Trenton , HSV Swift and USNS Kanawha . ...US Vice Admiral J. "Boomer" Stufflebeem, formally titled commander of Joint Task Force Lebanon, is the uniquely advanced C41 command and intelligence system through which he can flash intelligence data to every American commander at any point between the eastern Mediterranean and the Persian Gulf and Iran. USS Mount Whitney communications are ... unsurpassed ... in the world ... On paper... three commanders: 1. The American ... are under direct US command [NOT UN]. Since ... Somalia, Washington has never again placed its military under UN command. (There is no American contingent in the UNIFIL ground force either.). ... USS Mount Whitney , while serving the European fleets as their operational and intelligence nerve center will stay under the sole command of US Vice Admiral Stufflebeem in all possible contingencies. [Kofi can take a hike!] 2. ...the NATO fleet will remain under NATO [USA IS #1 in NATO too] command, and Israel's air and naval units will take their orders from Israeli Navy Headquarters in Haifa and the General Staff in Tel Aviv. 3. French General Alain Pellegrini is the commander of the expanded UNIFIL ground, naval and air force in Lebanon. ... -------------- http://www.debka.com/article.php?aid=1208 -------------- Islamofacists asked for it. They got it. NOTE: Australia has invited all Islamofacist, muslims and clerics to leave Australia's Christian nation. Hopefully, America & EU will follow suit.
19. Isolate Kofi NOW!

20. Is this a strategy of USA? to work dissociated?
Harissa ,   Argentina   (09.05.06)
21. Kofi Annan has a perverted mind
Esther ,   Jerusalem, IL   (09.05.06)
Kofi Annan has a perverted mind, either he is real evil, either he does not recognize any more the difference between good and evil. This person should be in a psychiatric hospital or just in prison. This is not an attack, but a serious reflexion.
22. Olmert and Annan
myron ,   usa   (09.05.06)
Since Olmert continues to deal with ANNAN, an avowed enemy of Israel, Olmert must resign.
