31. To 18 & 19
Richard ,   Los Angeles   (09.09.06)
To everyone that wants to claim the "Palestinians" are so great, answer me these few questions. 1. When Israel withdrew from Gaza, why did the Palestinians destroy $9 billion worth of industry in a matter of days. They've turned so much progress into a terrorist haven, using it as a terrorist training ground. 2. In 1948 the Palestinians could have had their own state. Instead they chose to fight one war, then another, and another, all the while neglecting progress b/c actually doing something would mean implicit recognition of Israel. Get your head out of the sand. Israel has a right to security and peace, and unfortunately when you're dealing with a culture that teaches hatred and how to blow people up in their schools...well that's not exactly something to celebrate
32. Number 3 is a typical brain washed dump ass american!

don't forget to tell them about the 5 dancing israelis at the WTC during 911.
35. article New Yorker to study about Isreal
dre ,   berkeley, california   (09.09.06)
How is "exposing them (US) to Isreal as we know it and as we would like people to know it" not propoganda and one sided sided statement?. Are you worried its not seen as you see it. Maybe there is something wrong with the way you see it. And how is it not politics? What is this special relationship. because alot of people in the usa keep saying there isnt one, yet Isreali news say their is??
36. How long before suicide cowards?
Robby ,   San Jose, USA   (09.09.06)
How long before we hear about "martyr suicide cowards" in New York schools?
37. #15 - Ireland
Robby ,   San Jose, USA   (09.09.06)
Ireland is part of the curriculum in California, as is most countries. The Palestinians are not, as they have not started their own country yet. Of course we could teach our children how many times they've refused to start their own country.
38. #18 History of the state
Robby ,   San Jose, USA   (09.09.06)
My, my, my - is someone a bit jealous? Perhaps you should find a support group.
39. JZ
J   (09.09.06)
Hey JZ, I wanted to let you know that I respect your opinions that you have displayed in these talkbacks. Taking a non - biased approach without fingerpointing and name calling is the key to working towards peace. I respect you for not resorting to turning either side into a monster. The Anti-Zionists and those who demonize Israel to me are just as bad as the people who deny the existence of Palestinian suffering. I'm glad I can differentiate you from these idiots on both sides.. Thanks for keeping my faith alive in humanity.
40. Good Idea! Keep it up. Anti-Israel sentiment is rampant
(09.09.06)
41. #19, JZ in DC
Alex ,   Washington, DC, USA   (09.09.06)
JZ, I honestly like you....you seem to be educated and sincere in your assessment of a very complex situation. I'm glad you had such experience in Israel and Palestine. It's one of the ways to avoid falling victim to dishonest news reporting and the portrayal of victims as "terrorists". More Americans should stop by the Palestinian territories on their way back to the US from their visit to Israel, to discover the truth for themselves.
42. EDUCATION
joe   (09.09.06)
I remember this kind of propaganda and forming of opinion in the begin of the sixties: Classroom by classroom we were ordered to the local cinema to watch a movie called " The Desert Blossoms" or alike. Well, the whole story was about the poor, hardworking Israelis, who coudn't plow their fields without a rifle over their shoulders because this bad, bad Palestinians were threatening them day in, day out! Oh, and how sory we children felt for this poor Israelis!!! Of course, we didn't know one thing: The movie was produced about the same time, when the commander of the notorious UNIT105, Ariel Sharon, ordered the carnage of Quibya. OOOPS!!!!
43. Save our schools
Janet ,   Medford, OR USA   (09.09.06)
Israels stay out of our schools! Maybe we should send David Duke to Jerusalem to introduce an anti-semetic curriculum.
44. Ethiopian Jews?
jason white ,   afula,israel   (09.09.06)
People from over a hundred countries live here and they pick the ethiopians? Why them?Have they contributed more than any other groups? Or is it a matter of race?
45. thanks for the info.read it.so sad

47. Huh? Which planet are you on?
Bango ,   Earth, Solar System   (09.09.06)
Ummmm, 70 years is about the age of the so called "State of Israel" that was created with the help of Zionist terrorist organisations like the Ergun (who would torture, bomb, rape and pillage towns and villages). Palestinians (and hence their identity as you put it) existed there for hundreds of years!!! Please double check the planet you are on!
48. Ellie Khouri
Jessica ,   USA   (09.09.06)
Ellie, Do you think you could fly to the U.S. and give all the members of the Bush administration brain-ectomies? If you did, history would remember you as one of the great heroes of all time. :-) I have yearned for a military coup ever since Bush started the Iraq war. Alas, my hopes have been dashed.
49. Bango
(09.09.06)
Why don't YOU double-check the planet you live in? I neve read so much bull in one post. The Jewish people hav e been living there for over 3000 years. You heard about the KINGDOM OF ISRAEL and the KINGDOM OF JUDEA you moron? King David, King Salomon and the other kings? You heard that 2000 years ago the Roman exiled most of the Hebrews/Jews from their land? Well, they're back now on their ancestral lands and are there to stay. Study history, the real one!! This land NEVER belonged to so called "Palestinians". Arabs and Jews lived there are are still today. Why don't you go back to the solar system you claim you came from. How about Mars? I hear it's not bad over there. It would rid this earth from one more moron.
50. Not Anti-Israel - Pro American
W Brown ,   IL   (09.09.06)
The outrage American's feel towards this isn't Anti-Israel, it is pro American. If they are the same thing, then I choose pro American
51. you've got to be kidding
eleven bravo ,   USA   (09.09.06)
So now we have a foreign country known for spying on its only benefactor to the tune of millions if not a billion or more influencing our education curriculum. We readily accept a foreign country's propaganda and integrate it to our education system. Wake up, sheople.
52. the goyem must be educated
(09.09.06)
yes, that's right. the chosen people need to educate the goyem masses.
53. Time to take action
V-Man ,   NYC USA   (09.09.06)
This is an outrage - foreign govt slyly and shamelessly trying to influence the minds of the impressionable. It amazes me that this news is not even mentioned in NYC media. One must also understand you're dealing with a city whose public schools have 1-3 days/yr off for "Jewish holidays." Non-Jewish religious holdays (i.e. Christmas) are not named and are buried within "Winter Breaks."
54. A teacher's perspective
M ,   USA   (09.09.06)
I wonder if they will discuss in the classes the fact that Israel has no constitution, is in violation of numerous UN resolutions, is a 1st world country that receives 3-4 billion in US aid every year, and does not recognize Jewish and non-Jewish marriages. This is but the tip of the iceberg. will children benefit from this education?
55. 34
(09.10.06)
pALESTINIANS WERE DANCING IN THE STREETS TO CELEBRATE THE TRAGIC EVENTS OF 9/11. THEY SANG AND DANCED AND DISTRIBUTED CANDY. EVERYONE SAW IT ON TAPE WHILE IN ISRAEL PEOPLE LIT MEMORIAL CANDLES ,MOURNED AND CRIED IN THE STREETS.
56. 43
(09.10.06)
iSRAELIS ARE TEACHING US HISTORY IN THEIR SCHOOLS. WHAT ARE YOU SO AFRAID OF?
57. 54
(09.10.06)
No country is perfect. The USA included. If you want to list whatever is wrong with Israel, then you should be ready to list whatever is wrong in your own country, the history of which is taught in Israeli schools and no big deal is being made about this by the Israelis, plus it's not being called"propaganda". The reaction from some Americans here is shocking to say the least. You should not be afraid of knowledge, being a teacher yourself. Shouldn't you keep an open mind? you probably don't mind it for the history of France or Greece to be taught in your schools or any other country for that matter.
58. More Israeli Social Engineering
M ,   Baltimore   (09.10.06)
59. Teach everything about Israel
John ,   LondonUK   (09.10.06)
Children should be taught complete history of Israel, right up to date including the very latest defeat at the hands of Hezbollah. They should be told how the mighty army was unable to free its soldiers and therefore was reduced to beg for their release, giving up hundreds of Hezbollah's men in exchange. Israel's history up to 1982 is fine. After 1982, it has faced repeatedly humiliation from Hezbollah.
60. Rebuttal to 54
Shai ,   Israel   (09.10.06)
I wonder whether you are aware that neither does Great Britain have a constitution (but nobody claims they are the less for it), that the only UN Resolutions that are relevant are Security Council Resolutions, and that these do not only demand cessation of belligerance by Israel, but also by the Arab countries, and that the Arab countries are obviously no less in violation of those same Resolutions, and that Israel DOES recognize Jewish/Non-Jewish marriages that have been performed outside of the State of Israel? One wonders what other nonsense you've got under that iceberg of yours, and what kind of poor education you benefited from such that you couldn't do the research on the web that would have yielded you precisely the information I just laid out for you, If you were my student, I'd make you stay after school and write 100 times on the board "I will do my research before commenting".
