It is strange that the dscussion is one sided. Is there an arm embargo on israel. Is there any guarantee that israel will not attack lebanon. Is there any promise to strengthen the lebanese army so he will be in charge of security and defending lebanon. Hi Casiopea, What you said is true only if you do not tune your radar to the right frequency. Here is a clue: Propaganda lesson 101: The enemies do not want you to speak up because you will tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. I don't mean to be an apologist, but I agree that the Muslim world has to clear the atmosphere and get rid of the bad apples. I also agree that they are not united enough to undertake this huge and responsible task. I can only hope that a "Muslim Body" whether be it the Arab World (Not strong for now) or the World Islamic Organization that they start representing Islam. The problem is that Islam does not emphasis one body representation partly for fear that this body becomes colluded with wrong policies as time goes by. We do not have a "World Church" to speak for all in a manner of saying. But what I mentioned earlier about the "Radar need tuning" is true. I am very aware of many local organizations who are doing just that locally on the city level and among the local interfaith meetings. In the US, I am very much aware that this is happening a lot. But, unfortunately, on the global level, there are hardly any strong voice to speak out in the name of the Muslim world. I would like to advise you to ask questions that you may be concerned with to any local Muslim leader. In the US, the Mosques are now an open convention centers for Interfaith meetings for all people of many persuations to hold open and public discussions. This has proved very successful in diminishing the myth that people have about Islam. Honesty, Fact and Truth should always be the bottom line of any such discussion. As for the Majority of world Muslims, you can bet that what you feel about your own ethical virtues, you can bet that any Muslim feels the same towards you and share with you every single humanitarian issue that you can think of. Dear Esther, DebkaFiles can sometimes be wrong. I have them on my radar for many years. I sometimes learn from them. But, often they claim that they mentioned this and that after the fact. This is their trick. You have to read closely that they wish to make it clear to you that they have the latest update exclusively. They do sometimes, but more often, its just a good political presumption. And it is this presumption that I tend to like as well. It can be an eye opener and may be, just may be true. By the way, I don't think that there will be any more wars between Lebanon and Israel, or with Syria as a mater of fact. Even DebkaFiles have an article about how the SyrianBaath Party members are buying properties in the Lower Golan Heights because of this under the table deal that Israel might be persuaded to trade in Golan and Shebaa Farms for a peace treaty with Syria.
