"there's no point or justification in preventing its reunification." But if left-wingers remain in the party, even Shimon Peres, given his unique weight, will reduce the effectiveness of a right wing program. If Kadima merges with Likud, surely we can all agree that it must expel its Labor-oriented members.

Well, yeah, Mike.
3. The likud should expel kadima activists!
jason white ,   afula,israel   (09.14.06)
They are traitors to the likud and have led us down the path to destruction. There is no point in having kadima in the govt if we want to survive as a nation.
4. On hte contrary, Kadima and Labor should reunite
Daniel Rivkin ,   Atlanta USA   (09.14.06)
The split of Kadima from Likud was good and long over-due. Kadima is composed partially of Labor politicians and partialy of Likud politicians who went over to the Likud after the disasterous Barak administration in hopes of holding on to power. For their part the Likudniks accepted the mass of defecting Laborites hoping that it wold help their party to become more moderate, and so we wound up with a Likud that was right-wing in name only. Now the Likud has been almost compeletly purified, and if it merges with NU-NRP and draws the right wing of Israel Beitaynu and Kadima merges with Labor and Meretz, the voters will have a clear choice between rigt and left
5. Zalman, Kadima is a doomed fad...
aaron ,   ra'anana   (09.14.06)
its a party of arch-criminals and oppurtunists... in the next round of elections HaNegbi, Ramon, Mofaz and Olmert can all be rejected by the electorate... reuniting the likud and kadima is a disaster for zionism and the jewish people. what would be better would be to exile Silvan Shalom and the corrupt Katz to Kadima
6. Likud would be fools to accept Kadima back
T M ,   LJ USA   (09.14.06)
Kadima has lost all of its political support. They have nothing to offer anyone. Likud would get all of its seats back right now, without having to compromise any power sharing with Kadima. And why should it. Kadima's whole raison d'etre was Disengagement, an idea obsolete before it hit the street. Disengagement, a euphemism for negligent apathy in the face of well funded and motivated enemy. Kadima was handed the torch from Labor (Barak), who implemented disengagement in Lebanon. Kadima , then, implemented this in Gaza and now is rushing to give away our land to unified PLO, which means Hamas, now joined by Abbas. Ynet, why do you let these guys blather all over your paper?
7. HELL NO!
Adam ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (09.14.06)
I'd prefer if Likud rose and Kadima sank.
8. God NO!
Ari   (09.14.06)
Why in God's name would Likud reabsorb those people who left? They are all corrupt. Hanegbi, Arik Sharon, Omri Sharon, Olmert, Haim Katz, and all the rest of them are amazingly corrupt. Why reabsorb all those corrupt politicians? Better have the Likud be clean and rebuild itself as a "clean" right wing party than have a fake right wing party that destroys settlements and is corrupt to the teeth like it was under Arik Sharon. Kadima was the greatest blessing that has ever happened to the likud because - like Rafi - it simply wont survive. For those of you who dont know about Rafi it was a party that spun off from Labor and it died a few years after it was born. Even ben gurion who was part of Rafi couldnt get it to work. And let me reassure you all that Olmert aint no ben gurion, so kadima wont survive long term. My prediction is that kadima is a "third way"/"shinui" party, i.e. the a party that exists and succeeds for 2 to 3 elections and then disappears from the political scene. No need to save them, let those leftist losers in kadima disappear into the political oblivion.
9. Time to get away
Francois ,   MontrĂ©al   (09.14.06)
Kadima's losers must resign. After their disgusting failure, this bunch of opportunistic incompetents idiots they must not be allowed to save their skin by being accepted among Likud. These scums choose on purpose to betray their party, so they must sink on their own crappy boat. Moreover, some months ago, they claimedhat they left Likud because it was only a bunch of extremists, they must be consistent with their views and remain with their "moderates" new "friends". Never forget, never forgive.
10. LIKUD WILL NEVER UNITE WITH KADIMA
Adam ,   USA   (09.14.06)
If LIkud ever did that it would be the end of Likud and it would cease to exist! Kadima is weak and has no purpose any longer to be around therfore it will fail with its weak leader Olmert at the helm of the ship! Bibi is no fool and would never agree to join this stupid fake government that is indecisive and does not care in protecting Israeli citizens lives and property!!! LET KAIMDA GO DOWN IN FLAMES AND LIKUD RISE UP!!!
11. Sharon's filthy rich cronies for Kadmia!!!
Johnny ,   Miami   (09.14.06)
12. Time to oust all of them!
Caroline ,   Israel   (09.14.06)
We are sick and tired of Avoda, Likud, Meretz and Kadima. Same faces, same incapacity, same scandals for so long! Whatever the display is, the result is the same. Go home, let new forces raise and try to push this sick country up and forward!
13. Kadima should be left to die. Likud does not need it!
Dudu ,   Kfar Sava   (09.14.06)
14. Why should Likud reunite with the garbage that is Kadima?
Eilon ,   Yerusahlayim   (09.14.06)
