Close encounters of a third kind     Ines Ehrlich
1. Noble Soldiers
This is a wonderful article. And while I find it hard to accept Israeli Soldiers refusing to fight due to political considerations...if they join this group...and ultimately stop even one potential suicide bomber from carrying out his "mission" ... then these soldiers have nobly defended our country.
Eileen ,   Ra'anana   (09.14.06)
2. Why Do Jews Make The 'Phased Plan' Easier For Arab Muslims?
Why are Jews ALWAYS the losers in the 'mythical peace' dialogues? Why do Jews have to give up their land and return to the Auschwitz borders, give up their holy capital, all in order to 'talk peace'? Does anyone find it unsettling that so many Jews fall for this delusionary vision? Hasn't the war with Hizbullah/Iran (totally in synch with the PA 's aspirations) shown these peaceniks that occupation/land is NOT the issue, but Jews living in ALL of Israel is the issue?
Adina Kutnicki ,   US   (09.14.06)
3. These stupid leftists think they are sooo smart
They pity anyone who can't think in their absurdly close minded ways why saying they are trying to broaden your horizens. Peice is what the palis want, not Peace. Thier religion is false if they do not get every dunar of land back. Israels existance proves their religion is weak and failing. This is a religious war simply put, and Muslums don't want Jews having authority over them in any why. As long as one Jew remains in this region of the world, they will cry "Occupation". And try to kill you.
Allen   (09.14.06)
4. Mr. Broza is another proof that road to hell is paved with
good intentions. Going to the West Bank without a gun? Tell it to the parents of that murdered 17-year old boy or to the ghosts of Hutel children. Mr. Broza is old enough to remember that Arab terrorism or Arab claims against Israeli Jews have not start in 1967. Under the guise of tolerance and cooperation he really is working to deliver the coup de grace to the spiritually weaken state of Israel. Israel was given to two people? Which two people? Aren't we really talking here about doing away with Israel, whereafter the Jews can revert to being persecuted, vulnerable, stateless and powerless dhimmis, living in the Moslem land? Don’t we have enough literature to know the plight of stateless Jews in the Muslim lands, or Christian lands, for that matter? When every sign in the world points to the ummah setting out for the major war of conquest against the West, Israeli deluded dreamers are willing to swallow any s**t served by Muslim pragmatists, provided it is well sugar-coated with terms like “human rights.” I suggest that Mr. Broza look around the neighboring Muslim countries and choose one where he would really enjoy living with his family, and that goes for the rest of Israel’s peaceniks. Do they expect another "promised land," under sharia, or do they still aim to become "citizens of the world" a concept, which when stripped of false veneer really means homesless, rootless, aimless and in search of a cause?

5. I don't get deluded with this type of rhetoric anymore!
They may being sincere, but in fact they are deluded. Of course,it is not the way to jail, kill and opress palis, but ,on the other hand ,if Israel releases its strong hand, palis mount in Israel like mads! And ,let's not forget that in 1948 there were not "occupied"territories and eventhough arabs atacked Israel. Why would they change like that,in a sudden? No,it will not happen! Besides this fact, there are the mad international interests that ,in a demented manner, find it right to keep ignating both people. And the mad muslims are there too to play their role in this all. Israel is very small and has ,for Jews,a very significant meaning. For palis ,this meaning doesn't exist;they are just pushed to be mad against Jews, because of their leaders and,as said, for foreigners interests . I keep believing the solution is ,in a human manner, make palis leave Jewish lands and join their own brothers. G'od has NOT written that this land was given to two peoples to live on it side by side,as they say.G'od gave these lands to Jews,if they want to talk about G'od. Don't get deluded!See reality!Reality is that there is no way for these 2 people to live together in such a small place. One day,who knows, one can visit the other in the respectives countries, but living together will NEVER work! Note:And It is better ONE severe and drastic resolution than this every day little drop of blood and hate.I see so.
Keren ,   Sao Paulo   (09.14.06)
6. Do not want to serve, then the firing squad.
Enough with this crap! If soldiers thought like that in WWII,then the nazis would have won. What goes on in their sick minds? Others serve till they are too old or even volunteer after the age of 45. But they are sick of it! They are tired of defending their families and country. What a bunch of sick fools. The arabs are entitled to nothing.Futhermore what are palestinians doing in Israel? Who the hell is david bozo?Another musician who thinks his I.Q. is larger than his hat size.

7. "In a nutshell,
Combatants for Peace calls for the end of the occupation and violence, the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with its capital in East Jerusalem alongside Israel, and return to 1.967 borders." Which means accepting what they´ve already refused and instead begun a terrorist war. This is a trap, which shows that some (nominal leftist) jews are not intelligent, as even themselves think, b/c there´s no mention of the "right of return", that nobody in the fakestinian side is ready to relinquish. And if there´s not such a mention it means that the fakestinian side is misleading again the Israeli ( a part of the) society, that is acting like a Trojan Horse. If the fakestinians succeed in obtaining this premise, it will be indeed the Phased Plan, and from the slopes of the Jordan valley these same terrorists, Osama Karsh, Suleiman Al Himri will take their guns and be in the forefront of another, and maybe the last, aggression.

8. asayad say G-d has written this land was given to
to two peoples. I think the rubber bullet that hit him in the head must have scrambled his brain. What bible have you been reading? This land was given to the Jews and not to you.We were here when you all were just a twinkle in a camel's eye.

14. I suggest that the next meeting must be held in Nblus
There the Israeli Mr. Shapira can get aquainted with the, previously from Brooklyn, Mr. Adam Shapira, who had found his true calling through a "peace movement" not unlike this one and found his true home in, I forget, Ramallah, Jenin, Nablus, but definitely on the anti-Israeli side of this war. Fortunately for Adam Shapira, he still holds his American passport, so when his ideas don't work out , he can always scamper back to Brooklyn, where his forgiving, Jewish parents will take him back in. But what will the Israeli Mr. Shapira do if he gets his wish and it blows up in his and his kid's faces, does he also have the U.S. passport?

15. To (#2) Adina Kutnicki , US
Dear Adina, I am just asuming that you are 5 y/o. You have no idea what it means to be defiant to ones country like these soldiers were. Just call one of them and he'll be more than happy to lecture you on the reality of life on the territory and what one has to go through. Amir

16. To (#3) Allen, Bozo land
Allen: You said, "This is a religious war simply put, and Muslims don't want Jews having authority over them in any why." It all started 4000 years ago. Revisited 2006 years ago, and got another holly visit 606 years ago. And today, its starting all over again. Darling, its a vicious cycle and I wouldn’t go there if I were you. Amir

18. To(#4) AK --> "KKK" member
Dear Mr. "KKK" You sound like the Southerner in the US prior to the US civil war. You are the kind who think that North will attack the South and obliterate them till kingdom to come just for fun of it and for no other justifiable reason. Stick around a little longer and you'll regret what you said. You can now wash your mouth with "Listen and read" mouth wash. Amir

19. To (#5) Keren , Sao Paulo
Dear Keren, You said, "Don't get deluded!See reality!Reality is that there is no way for these 2 people to live together in such a small place. " If I am not mistaken, God made your father live with you mother in the same house. Tell me if I am wrong? Amir
Amir AL-Safir ,   Lebanon   (09.15.06)
20. To(#6) Jason White, afula, israel
Hi Jason, Jason White is not a Hebrew name. Correct me if I am mistaken. There is this desert called the Sinai desert and people usually get lost there for sometimes before they get to their senses. What irritates me about your argument is that its full of irritants. Amir
Amir AL-Safir ,   Lebanon   (09.15.06)
21. To(#7) Uziel "you mean.."
Actually, its "Fukistinian" to be proper with English literature. Let me draw you to a painful conclusion: What is a Hornet doing in an ants colony? Another question: What would happen to the hornet if it stays too long in the ants colony? More question: Do you know that you've been living in a protective cocoon all along and you did not know it? Just stay inside and don't leave the safety of your dream. Before you know it, when you look outside your window, you'll see Taliban bozos selling you chewing gum round the street corners where you live. So my friend, it’s either the "Taliban" or the Palestinians that will be your neighbors... your choice really... Amir
Amir AL-Safir ,   Lebanon   (09.15.06)
22. Amir AL-Safir, you are an idiot, and you know nothing
KKK came into being after the Civil War, not before. Of cause, like all people of limited intelligence and inflated ego, when you have no valid argument on the topic at hand, you resort to silly personal attacks. Am I surprised at your behavior? No, it’s what I actually expect of you, including threats.
AK   (09.15.06)
23. To(#8) jason white , afula,israel
Hi, we meet again, I am sure you were reading from a ferry story that your grandma keeps on a dusty shelf. Today, we have Amazon.com and Barnes&Noble book stores. I assure you, from the bottom of my jaw, that you can find a better ferry story than you've been reading. It’s easy to buy books on the internet these days. You just need two things; to be 18y/o and to have a credit card. Jason, there is no place for you in Middle East. Not your kind of individual who does not know who the Jews and Palestinians and Arabs are. Your Radar sees only, "Jews, Jewish, Judaism, Yahud, Moses, Jerusalem... and the rest of the lengthy scrolls. Wake up man... You sound like the "Essins" who lived up with men in the mountains few thousand years ago.. and just scribing things on leather for the rest of their lives. Amir
Amir AL-Safir ,   Lebanon   (09.15.06)
24. very nice but ..
I think that the idea of people from all walks of life getting together and learning about each other is excellent. But .. Imagine if every member of the IDF said 'sorry I'm not willing to do this but I'm willing to do that' ? Not workable ! Be nice if the world was a peaceful place and no one had any enemies that wanted to destroy them but that is not the case. I used to go and eat in Jericho once a month and in Jaffa at least once a week at 2:00AM but I don't do either anymore because of the mistrust. The Arabs would like our business back and we (or many of us anyway) like their food and some of their markets and would love a return to the pre-intifada days. So building trust - excellent! Refusing orders in the IDF – jail !
michael ,   tel aviv & london   (09.15.06)
25. Only way to bridge the divide ....
The only way to bridge the divide is by putting arms aside, otherwise there will be no mutual trust, but yes I agree that it would be problematic for all to "refuse" service although I understand it is a refusal in the West Bank and Gaza only.
Danny ,   Tel Aviv   (09.15.06)
26. To(#22) AK --> OK, lets talk!
I know I am an idiot, that's why I am here :) Hi again, I know what KKK is all about. I did sound like a challenger to you. But I wanted to draw your attention that like many on this forum, hate and intolerance seem to be the order of the day. There is a true problem in Middle East and I hope you realize this. If the Palestinians do not get back to their land, then the problem will only become more global. You should agree with me by now that Israel have lost the war in Lebanon. I am against violence and I deplored what Hezbollah did at the beginning. But what the IDF/IAR did to destroy Lebanon, is but a proof that Israel will not resort to negotiation but rather to violence inorder to teach the bad guys a lesson. And in doing, my friend, many innocent Lebanese lost their lives. The IDF/IAF claim that they are hitting the militias but also, they hit the Lebanese as in collective punishment in the hope that they put pressure on the Hezbollah. Well, 32 days later and you still haven’t gotten the soldiers back. It’s a sad story for both sides. But violence is inherent among the Chivalry population that is on military Viagra every year. This is only because Israel is on a borrowed time and land. Don't blame me, this is history. It’s the history of my land, it’s the history of my Jewishness, my Christianity and my Islamism. This is the land that have seen so much over the centuries and I just would hope that you understand that you only came here from the US and your folks came here just recently (1930's onward). But the MiddleEast is full of surprises. You should read the history book. My friend, Jerusalem is not only Jews, Judaism, Yeshiva, Yehuda, Kibbutz, Moshe, Abba Iban, Shamir, Sharon.....etc. No, if this is the only radar or telescope you are looking through, then I think you are being misled. You have been creating an artificial safe haven without paying attention to the reality of the Land that you have occupied. You are on an occupied land my friend. This is not the story of God given land, it’s the story of ethnically cleansing the land from its inhabitants. You guys came from Europe. You cannot expect Chinese of Christian persuasion to come and take a quarters in the holly Sapluka Church… what a joke anyway. Middle East is a mouthful. You are only here since few years. It takes thousands of years for you to even contemplate what’s going to happen next. If you don’t lay down your arms and ask the Palestinians to come back to the very land you have so inhumanely deposed them from, then do not blame me if tomorrow, you start dealing with “Taliban”. I told you, Middle East is a Jungle today. More radicals are joining forces against the US and the rest of the West. If the “Roadmap” is not faithfully reopened, this will mean more misery for all living in Middle East. I am reading from the same news sources as you are. Don’t tell me you are reading and understanding the same issue differently? Sometimes I am not surprised. I am not saying you go to the beach and swim, and keep swimming till you reach the English Channel. What I am saying, enough of this stupid occupation of Palestinian lands and its time to let them rule their territories. Get out of the West Bank, get out of Gaza, let them have their own airports and rule their own people. We all have suffered under the Ottoman Turks, and now, it’s the Israeli turn. Tomorrow, it will be back to Osama and Taliban if you don’t work it out today. Heaven forbid.. Just do not underestimate what the little ants can do over a period of time. One bite here, one bite there, more bite here and there, and you’ll be full of put holes. Peace for all Amir

I'm quite certain that ehud would go running to teheran, whatever reason, if only invited, his stylish wife getting herself into a brand new burkha; but mahmud would gladly come to Jerusalem for Rosh Hashana only atop a tank, celebrating victory. Egyptians had already tried to make it to Jerusalem for Yom Kipur, so Rosh Hoshana would suit Iranians fine.
