Close encounters of a third kind     Ines Ehrlich
31. Think, please.
You goddamn hipocrits. If you fail to recognize that a human being is a human being, no matter what the color of his skin or the name of his god, and no matter what he does, then you have failed, miserably at that, as a fully-functioning member of the human community and should promptly revise your ignorant and abusive intolerance in hopes of finding a shred of humanity before spewing your irrelevant and incoherent fragments of verbal dhiarrhea on those of us who find it quite offensive. With all due respect ( which is surprisingly low for some of you ), there are those here who have proved to me, beyond any shadow of a doubt, that reincarnation is possible. Noone can get that dumb in one lifetime. You are living, breathing ( miraculously ) proof that dumb people shouldn't breed. Having put that aside - why can noone put away what their parents branded on their rear ends and try to understand that nobody threw the first stone, and trying to blame someone for it has long-since been pointless. Both sides have lost enough, both sides have had enough, and both sides are stubborn enough to refuse the other a decent foothold to compose itself. How many more people must die? How many more tears have to be shed? How many more bullets will it take till we understand that the problem lies not with our beliefs and the differences therein, but rather the fact that we, for some reason, are incapable of shutting off the faucet of blood which has been opened; deep, dark, rich blood which now runs amok in our streets, unhindered. It is terrorism when an Islamic terrorist with no ties to any representative state commits a heinous act of murder against a civilian, but it is collateral damage when governments return fire at that same terrorist and civilians are hurt. And the sad part in all this - is that not only both sides, but indeed the majority of the world deem this behavior as not only justifiable, not only understandable, but necessary - a thought which makes me keel over, sick at the thought. It is murder when a terrorist does it, yet collateral damage when a government does it - the thin red line being intent. Well that's all good and well, I suppose. Tell me - if the only Jews you've ever seen were armed to the teeth in military gear, how quick would you be to understand that there are Jews out there who do not hold rifles? It is very easy to condemn a whole nation based on the actions of few, especially when those few are the only majorly-publicised representation of that group's peoples. Just as the Israelis and indeed most of the Western world view all arabs as terrorists and as lesser human beings ( if at all ), so are many arabs shrouded in the same deceitful webs of modern-day politics. And it is sad, so sad that I at times must hold back my tears and continue my debates with renewed vigor. Try to understand - we are all human beings, but only those who can understand that act in a human fashion. Politics act on momentum - all it needs is a bit of a push in the right direction and I firmly believe we are all capable of empathy. We must be. For if I'm wrong, we are all surely damned, and the world has fallen into chaos.
