31. THIS IS NOT TERRORISM,THIS IS SELF DEFENCE
Lebanese ,   Lebanon   (09.15.06)
Hizbollah appeared in 1982 after israel invading to Lebanon as a resistance force to free Lebanese territory so it will not happen to Lebanon as with Palestine to be occupyed.in this last war israel dropped on Lebanon about 175000 bombs & rockets plus about 2000000 timer bombs , so our children must know what kind of neighbour we have & how criminal he is & must always be ready to defend themselves & their country .If you want your children to live in peace you must respect your neighbours ,give them their stolen lands west bank, golan heights & shebaa farms according to UN resolutions either you can only blame only yuorself when it will be so late for you

Humanity's problem is not our short memory, but our lack of knowledge completely. For example, you don't seem to know that Israel invaded Lebanon in 1982 for a certain reason. You seem to think Israel went in for the fun of it, because we're the vicious Zionists. Well, just to let you know, Israel invaded Lebanon because until then, Israelis were suffering from terror attacks by an organization that you might be familiar with - the PLO. And guess what, they were based in S. Lebanon. Israel had enough of Arafat and his terror, so we kicked him out. You said that Hizballah was fighting a "legitimate defense" in 1982. Do you really think defending terrorism is legitimate?

I do wonder what kind Islam they would want all us infidels to convert to, and what koran would we have to abide by...seems a few different publications. Bet the mahdi did a bunk cause he couldn't stand them. See childrens rights aren't an issue with them either, recruiting cannon fodder, they are still in the dark ages, where anyone however old is expendable.

Love is a long path NEVER paved with HATE or VIOLENCE. Love each other should be the first and ultimate commandment.

38. #36---Marcel. LOVE YA.
Edwin ,   Canada   (09.15.06)
While of course you are right in that love is an ideal, and it is commanded to love ones brother, I suggest you go to Sudan or Lebanon, or Iran, or Indonesia, or Egypt, or Saudi, or any other Moslem country and preach your love. Don’t forget to pack your bible for the journey. Maybe even wear a Star of David to show your equal love for Israel…you don’t want to show bias in your love!

42. And yet the irrational hate against Israel continues?
Captian Obvious ,   USA   (09.15.06)
With the never ending stream of hate directed Israel - why Israel does not get a more a sympatheic ear from the global non Muslim communitty is beyond me? A cartoon of the prophet generates Muslim protest but calls to wipe Israel of the map gets nothing - simply amazing & sad.
43. Dear #31
Josh   (09.15.06)
Your an american admit it. Fact is the "evil" they speak of is not Israel but the infadels in general...hence the "apocalyptic" belief. Also these items existed "before" the war and thus if they really thought Israel was so "evil" they probably would not have provoked them by crossing the border and kidnapping their soldiers. (No they expected Israel to do nothing like before, SURPRISE, Israel responded.) Israel did Leabanon a favor, they taught the a valuable lesson. If they provoked the US, the numbers would have been like Afganistan.
44. #36 Love & Peace
Josh   (09.15.06)
The Torah (ref old testament) has a commandment about love...to love God with all your heart and soul. Should be easy since he gave us everything-right? It also has a prophecy about people who run around saying love and peace, yet because of curses they choose, God allowed man to make war. Even Jesus said to his followers (read christians) who were "the fallen Jews" he was not coming to bring peace but war and called upon his followers to return to love God. So just loving one another is no good if you cannot love and show respect to the creator that gave the world and life itself. The commandments are just a test to see if you love Him. Besides they were loving (in more ways than one) each other when the golden calf was built and it didn't save them either.

And yet , Cathefral College invites Khatami fordiscussions about Civilization and Human Rights, President Carter becomes his Host, and Harvard and othe supposedly reputable individual and institutions invite him to give the world lectures about civilization and Humanity and the Eurppeans want to continue negotiations with these creatures who are in charge in Iran. When are these people and the citizens of this world demand of their Governments to support the plight of the Iranian People who are suffering the most under this regime from hell. ASSIST THE IRANIANS NOW for a change of regime and you would not have to worry about Terrorism or Nuclear Weapons
47. #23 Mahmood, This Hiabollah military training is normal
AK   (09.16.06)
Unfortunate, but true. One only needs to recall the wave after waive of young Iranian boys, some no more than 12, send to clear Iraqi minefields during Iran/Iraq war, armed only with the Chinese-made plastic keys to heaven. Hizbollah, Iran's bastard child, simply follows in its deranged parent's footsteps.
48. #28 Abdul, I do hope that you're a minority

otherwise we do have a big problem. But then again, we do have a lot of bombs. You choose.
49. (44) LOVE LEADS TO PEACE, not vice versa.
Marcel Abel ,   (France)   (09.16.06)
Do you respect Jesus ? I guess your answer is no. And yet you don't know Him ! You could learn from Him . It would not mean wasting your time. And now « When a man's ways' are pleasing to the Lord, He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him ». I am not even your enemy and yet you are NOT at PEACE with me. How is it ? « A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. » « " I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings" (Jeremiah 17,10). « All things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with Whom you have to do, including the thoughts and intents of your heart (Heb 4,13). » Who is your neighbour ? Remember : « A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he fell into the hands of robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, took him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two silver coins and gave them to the innkeeper. 'Look after him,' he said, 'and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.' "Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers ?" » (Luc 10, 30-36)
50. LET GOD BE TRUE ! (37) and (38)
Marcel Abel ,   (France)   (09.16.06)
and Love be Love. You have not noticed that we are living in a mad world. Our test to show the Lord we love Him and all his creatures lies with our capacity to cure madness which is spreading quicker than wisdom ! Dear Edwin, may I advise you on what to do : I suggest that you go to Geneva and share Gabrielle's antinuclear shelter ( As many banks as shelters in that country). And you ? Who you, me ? Wyoming ? No, no, not Wyoming ? What d'you say ? I said nothing ! Don't worry, my Christian Faith is a good shelter here on earth ! And hooray for Gaby and Ed, yippie ! Have a cold and rainy day !
51. ANSWER TO #47
MAHMOOD ,   LONDON-UK   (09.16.06)
Well, AK, you must remember that when it comes to the Shia faith,Hizbullah's or for that matter any other resistance group does NOT derive influence from anyone except what is there in the historical facts. You must read a book called 'The Tragedy Of Kerbala' to understand the Shia belief.Rendering abusive words, I am afraid, gets you nowhere in life.Face the reality and be prepared for the consequences as well.
52. TO JOSH FROM NOWHERE !
Marcel Abel ,   (France)   (09.16.06)
I quote you : ... " (No they expected Israel to do nothing like before,..SURPRISE, Israel responded.) Israel did Leabanon a favor, they taught the (sic) a VALUABLE LESSON. " Cost of the lesson = over 1,000 dead people, including many Christians. No time for children (Lebanese or Jewish, British or American, or whatever their nationality), my heart sees no difference, old enough to die because of war. Just shocking, Josh who is hiding, I tell you ! And very bad TEACHING indeed. Lebanon, dear country to the heart of many French people - one of my best friends, a French Christian theolog, is living there and I don't know yet if he escaped violent, blind, ferocious bombing. David-Lebanon facing Goliath-Israel, strange reversal of history, but same result : DEATH ! Lebanon there precisely where Jesus himself had preached the good news for some time. May the Lord forgive you for the " valuable lesson " !

55. Re: 49 50 and 52
Josh   (09.16.06)
For such a peacful person you seem a bit hot headed. Can't put the finger on the problem try learning your foundations (Judasim). Jesus said to his followers and disciples they do not know him. These followers stood beside him, yet you some 2000 years later claim you do. Jesus said that you don't. He is as I said. I believe he is the punisher. Till you know this you could not know him. As he said, till you return to Hashem you do not know him. Have you returned? If these people were innocent why did they live in a Hizbollah neighborhood, why did they befriend the enemy and not take warnings to get out. People who are biurning churches. If you remain in a war zone you have much to fear. Especially if the combatants use children and elderly as sheilds. Some friends! Only someone like you would be friends with evil men and not wave hi to your only family, because the punisher taught you to side with evil? Isn't humilation by buying bad ideas part of Torah curses? Peaceful you are not. You can't even live by the words you preach, which proves my point. "As you walk as you see fit and speak peace, peace... but there shall be no peace." Deut 29-30 Jesus said he did not come to bring peace but to bring war, so what good news did he bring to any area. Now you see why he readily used the word "fools".
56. to (55) Josh
Marcel Abel ,   (France)   (09.17.06)
No, Josh, you are seriously mistaken. Nobody comes to the Lord but through Him, Jesus. Your not so right phraseology is evidence you don't seem to know Jesus in the text. Why have you silenced, for example, His so profound message that he came not to abolish but to fulfill, not as a " punisher " but as the Redeemer, Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, my sins, yours and the sins of the multitude ? --- As you come disguised and anonymous, I am obliged to play Cassandra Never mind. --- One of my recent posts to relate you to the Book. « " Who has believed our message and to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? 2 He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him. 3 He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. 5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed. 6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth. 8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away. And who can speak of his descendants? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was stricken. 9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth. 10 Yet it was the LORD'S will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the LORD makes his life a guilt offering, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand. 11 After the suffering of his soul, he will see the light of life and be satisfied; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong, because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. " » (Isaiah 53) Another post reads « Rabbinical Judaism fiercely rejected any kind of messianic claim on the part of Jesus. True, most Jews were indeed expecting a Messiah -- but the majority were expecting one who would come as a military liberator after the fashion of David, the ancient and much revered king. When Jesus came more as a prophet --more as an Isaiah than a David --, this became problematic for much of the Jewish community. » --- Josh, you misunderstood following : « Jesus said to him, (An Apostle) "I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me. IF YOU HAD KNOWN ME, you would have known My Father ALSO; from now on you know Him, and have seen Him." (John 14:1-7) (NAS) It's not at all what you said I affirmed. Check if you want. The whole message of the Holy Bible could be summed up in one verse : « For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. » (John 3, 16.) Play it cool, I am not "a bit hotheaded", but in the vicinity of Geneva, I cannot be as cool as I should. Well, I am not the first on the long list of the Lady whose wishful thinking has bluffed more than one.
57. JOSH, SOME MORE EVIDENCE
Marcel Abel ,   (France)   (09.17.06)
OF YOUR ERRING ABOUT JESUS, ABOUT CHRISTIANS AS A WHOLE, AND ABOUT ME. PERHAPS YOU DON'T KNOW THAT " FOOLS " IN THE BOOK DESIGNATE ALL THOSE WHO DO BELIEVE IN JESUS, WE THEREFORE ARE NOT UPSET AFTER YOU USED SUCH WORD AS " FOOLISHNESS ", EVEN MORE I PERSONALLY REJOICE IN THAT PIECE OF GOOD NEWS ! But John, chapter 12, reads : « Nevertheless many even of the rulers believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they were not confessing Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue; for they loved the approval of men rather than the approval of God. » « And Jesus cried out and said, "He who believes in Me does not believe in Me, but in Him who SENT Me. And he who beholds Me beholds the One who sent Me. I have come as light into the world, that everyone who believes in Me may not remain in darkness." "And if ANYONE hears My sayings, and does NOT keep them, I do NOT judge him; for I did not COME to judge the world, but to SAVE the world. HE who REJECTS Me, and does NOT receive My sayings, has one who judges him; the word I spoke is what will judge him at the last day." "For I did not speak on My own initiative, but the Father Himself who sent Me has given Me commandment, what to say, and what to speak. And I know that His commandment is eternal life; therefore the things I speak, I speak just as the Father has told Me." » (John 12, 42-50) (NAS) Reading the Book and allowing the words to come in you and be part of you, the most essential of you will be looking at Jesus, will be as to say Jesus-centered, and not self-centered. What a change in terms of life, of eternal life ! Peace with you, Josh.
58. to Josh, an Apostate
Marcel Abel ,   (France)   (09.17.06)
I forgot this : you asked me if I had returned to the Lord ? Why should I return, as a follower of Jesus the Messiah, His begotten One, I never left Him. But you have been an Christian, then an ex-Christian (therefore you rejected Jesus) before converting to Judaism. According to our faith, you are now apostate. Who of both has committed a crime against the Holy Spirit abandonning his religious faith ? And you wanted to give me lessons ? « Crux sancta sit mihi lux / Non draco sit mihi dux Vade retro satana / Nunquam suade mihi vana Sunt mala quae libas / Ipse venena bibas » (" May the Holy Cross be my light / Let not the dragon lead me Step back Satan / Never tempt me with vain things What you offer me is evil / Drink the poison yourself "). May the Lord have mercy on you ! Salutatio !
59. Josh : my conclusion with JESUS
Marcel Abel ,   (France)   (09.17.06)
"Philip said to Him (to Jesus), "Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us." Jesus said to him, "Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how do you say, 'Show us the Father'?" "Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works." "Believe Me that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me; otherwise believe on account of the works themselves. Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go to the Father." "And whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it." (John 14, 8-14) (NAS)
60. Josh, my last message for you
Marcel Abel ,   (France)   (09.17.06)
(John 3, 13-17) « No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven--the Son of Man. 14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15 that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life. 16 " For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to CONDEMN the world, but to SAVE the world through him." » May the Lord protect you !
