Think about this...if the fanatic Islamic people have the power to even silence the mouth of the Pope through their death threats and vicious attacks on church buildings...and a nun...then, the world really DOES have a problem that needs to be dealt with immediately. In short: Benedict is laying the religious groundwork for a hundred year fight in the Jihadist War Against the West. His job as Pope is to prepare for epic human wars that span eras. At age 79, he is setting up the foundations for the wars facing the next Pope. He's not watching Fox News, he is planning for the world struggles ahead. and even though Benedict is The Most Catholic Pope, he's a lot closer to being on the side of the Jews than the Jihadists. good post. the catholic church has commited grevious errors in the past and john paul2 et al have made numerous, proper apologies for events such as the inquisition, the crusades etc. benedict16 has publicly stated that not all popes have been good catholics. it's time moslems and other religions took some time to reflect on their past sins. it's also worth remembering hitler was a new-age pagan/ secular humanist, stalin was an athiest, pol-pot a buddist. few, if any, religions or non-religions have clean hands. we need to look to the future.

what the orientalists have been working on for hundreds of years.. you are trying to pick out bits and pieces of the Qora'n in order to suit your interests.. first of all.. in order to understand the Qora'n you should know Arabic and know it very well.. traslated versions of the Qora'n are quite misleading.. the next thing you should do is read the Qora'n as a whole and not pick out bits and pieces.. because the miracle of the Qora'n is the language even a native Arab should read the Qora'n several times over and over again to try to fully understand it.. because the Qora'n was descended for a specific purpose and on certain occasions to tell Muslims what to do on those occasions .. IS FOR APOLOGIZING. Every day since the pope made his comment, his words have proven to be the truest words spoken in this century so far. Muslims all over the world are rising up to kill Christians of any denomination because the leader of one denomination insulted their religion. Is the pope now sorry that he spoke the truth plainly, even as Muslims rise up everywhere to prove his words true? When an imam speaks against Christianity, do Christians rise up everywhere to burn mosques? When an imam speaks hatred against Jews and says they are the source of all evil in the world, do Jews begin a campaign to bomb all the mosques in Gaza? WHAT DID YOU SAY WAS THE RELIGION OF PEACE?

I was answering #9's questions about Qur'anic war verses. These verses do, indeed, exist. Actions speak louder than words. Maybe you should be speaking to your Islamic brothers and sisters who carry out these war verses everyday. Are they wrong to quote these verses, and more, to justify their acts of violent terror and jihad? Please don't answer that only a tiny minority is doing this. Muslim violence on non-Mulsims is global.

Christians didn't participate in mass violent protests in which they burnt down movie theaters or bookstores to counter the DaVinci Code, did they? If you want to object to something please do it in a civilized manner without the need for blowing things up or killing people. I agree with you that protests should not get to the extent of burning and bombing.. especially to churches and other religious establishments.. but it was the Pope's irresponsible and ignorant remarks that had lead to this chaos..
