5. Support the "Red to Dead" project!
Sheikh yer Bu'Tay ,   Dar al-Harb   (09.22.06)
Does anyone in the Middle East want peace? It can be had by all if only everyone will recognize each other and co-operate. A project is currently being studied that will pump Red Sea water over the Sinai Desert and into the Dead Sea. It is called the "Red to Dead" Project. The water will be de-salinated, produce hydro-electric power, and revive the tourist industry around the Dead Sea. The fresh water can be used to make the Sinai bloom! Water for everyone, land for everyone, electricity for everyone, peace for everyone. Any takers?

David ,   St Louis, USA   (09.22.06)
Sure the govts of Bush and Olmert might be nearing their ends, but that is democracy. Israel is strong. Olmert might be done, but then comes Bibi or Lieberman, or whomever. Bush may be done, but then comes Newt or Hillary or whomever. Israel and the USA are here to stay - get used to it!
10. Olmert at the helm of a "crumpling" Israel
malcolm   (09.22.06)
If Olmert and Livni would stop acting as if they are on Tehran's payroll and just step aside, Israel can recover. Israel needs strong leaders not wanabees.
11. Bibi Will End Iran's Mouth
Dave Levi ,   Burbank. USA   (09.22.06)
There are millions of "Jews and Infidels (Christians)" who are willing to go and help Israel fight this worldwide Jihadist movement of radical and not so radical Muslim states. But, are we really needed? Under Bibi, or Hillary, or McCain, Iran is doomed. Fleets of B1s, B2s, B52s, with Tomahawk Missiles, and Israeli F15s, F16s, and Phantom 2,000s, will take care of the Iranian airforce. Iran's missile sites will be bombed with smart bombs. If need be, US and Israeli tactical nukes will finish the job. Iran needs immediately to overthrow these idiots in power..before they see their country obliterated. Hitler lost ultimately with 500,000 SS and 14m army. The mad mullahs will be destroyed in 1 week...we have G-d on our side.

Once again, You cannot and will not be able to sustain such brutal force on the native inhabitants of Palestine. It’s about time that the IDF and the Israeli mentality heed the natural law of the Middle Eastern culture. Shift you policy now or the tide of history will repeat itself. It will.. no joke about it. The current political game in Palestine is to occupy the whole of the land by slow displacement over the years. This is done under the watchful eyes of the UN and the World. Israel will not allow any Palestinian or Arab to live in the land. This is survival at its best. Naturally, the Palestinians and their allies will defend their natural right by any means. The forgoing tension will not ease. Simply look at the placement of the "Settlement" along the West Bank and around Jerusalem. The settlements are strategically being built on higher grounds and access to them is being carefully drawn so as to look as natural to an outsider as a normal existence with regard to its surroundings. This has been going on for years and none of the Palestinians are allowed any permit to build on their own land. And if they did, the court will put them in jail and will send bulldozers to demolish any Palestinian house. This is an endless extortion against any efforts by Palestinians to regain any rights or deeds to the land that they are currently living in. Slowly but surely over 2, 5, 10 years, Palestinians are gradually being displaced from one area to a remote area, and thus, bringing all the settlements closer strategically in and around Jerusalem. And before anybody knows it, the Israelis will claim natural rights over the whole West Bank. Time will tell if this game will materialize or not. This is by no mean a civilized way to carry on "Population Transfer" as Ben Gurion put it. The Romans came and left, so did the Crusades and it will remain to be seen if the aggression will pay. Once again, it’s simply theory that many in Israel fail to observe; The Middle East Culture is much stronger than the court decision or the bullets of IDF or the words of the Jewish-Congress. My advice, settle now before the ME culture gains a new Middle East Inspiration. The land of Middle East holds much temptation for the invaders from outside. Again, as we have learned from history, there is always an element of surprise in ME. Just be on the look out. It may take few decades, but it will be back to normal, as normal as ME culture dictates by the spirit of ME and not by the bullets of the settlers from outside who claim to be part of ME. This is not an unreasonable statement. It’s a reflection of the culture of the Land. If you don not know this culture, then you are the one who is an alien and not the Palestinians. Peace for all Amir

What a one-sided sorry reaction to a news item. Listen folks, 34 days of war and the so-called mighty Israeli army couldn't even free two of its soldiers. Remember it was the lions who trained hizbullah and while the IDF infantry were fleeing the war fronts, nobody in the US came to their aid. So be realistic and objective. London is not a safe place because of these US cowboy policies. Is Israel safer after the 34-day war? I don't think so. We must sit down and talk to people. Remember it is 21st century and we are not living in a jungle. We cannot bomb a country or people into submission because they don't agree with us. Peace is the best proposition. Radicalism brings blood and destruction. Wake up guys, we're not talking about computer games. Real people are dying in Israel, Lebanon,London and elsewhere.

chuck moody ,   Grangeville, ID   (09.23.06)
Why, whenever I read about the latest macho posturing of an Islamic talking head, do I hear this small voice saying: "Methinks she doth protest too much"? And the background music was penned by Rod Serling for "Twilight Zone". Real men don't have to raise their voices.

MIKE SMITH ,   TX,USA   (09.23.06)
THE REASON WHY I AGREE WITH SALHI IS THAT JUST BY LOOKING INTO ISREAL GOVERMENT.YOU CAN FIND MORE JEWISH TRADERS THAN ARAB ENEMYS IN THE BATTLE FILD.SOME OF THESE TRADERS ARE MORDECAI VANUNU,YOSSI BELILIN,ZAHAVA GAL-ON.THESE ARE SOME OF THE WORST BACK STEBERS IN ISREAL.SO WHEN ATALLAH SALHI TALKS ABOUT ISREAL BEING DESTROYED HE IS TALKING ABOUT HELP HE GETS FROM INSIDE ISREAL.SO THIS IS THE REASON WHY I AGREE.
