1. The Clown Puppet's Do One Thing Well
Marcel ,   Florida   (09.27.06)
They talk and they talk and they talk about what they are too afraid to do and assume that the public actually believe them. The liars are go at only this. We know their hands are tied by their master Geroge and his plan to reward Islamic terrorists with more of Israel's land. Puppets who talk tough and do nothing should be sent back to the carpenter shop for more useful service.
2. HALUTZ,PERETZ & OLMERT DIDN'T TAKE A LESSON FROM LAST WAR
Lebanese   (09.27.06)
you were warned clearly by Sheikh Nasrallah that patience for violating 1701 resolution sometime will end & there will be a response as Hizbollah will consider , you were warned before about leaving our prisoners either Hizbollah will kidnap some of your soldiers ,you didn't do that till the last war happened & you made the parents of kidnapped ,killed & injured soldiers suffer plus 1500000 israelis who left their homes & on Lebanese side also much suffered of your stupid policy, now everything is being repeated ,.there was a UN resolution which you accepted & we too, you are warned to stop violating this resolution because this time if a war will start again ,maybe all Lebanon will be in ruins but you can be sure that israel too & there will be no safe place in israel not in TA ,not dimona & not in any other place
3. Keep talking halutz
(09.27.06)
Thats all you're worth now You wouldn't need to be stating this if you had done it right the first time. While I believe it is our duty to remove hizb'allah from our northern border at all cost, even if it means wiping lebanon and syria off the map. You are not the man I would entrusts this. It is better we take these spits in the face, so that men better than you can come and take your place along with the loser battalion of Kadima and the current coalition. Once these men have put the proper changes into the army, technologically, logistically, tradition (you shouldn't be commanding from a plasma screen), ethic (it sucks but more training for reservists), and just plain leadership at all levels. When this happens, we can go to war, because then I know and every other Israeli knows that the soldiers being sent are their with a mission, training, and leadership needed to complete what is needed to be done.
4. what, no discussion of rockets?
alan ,   frisco   (09.27.06)
rockets are coming into Lebanon and the cabinet says nothing about how it will react. oops. we know the answer. they will do nothing. no almonds, cashews, or peanuts left. when will the people demand this cabinet resign?
5. I bet the Arabs are quaking with fear at Halutz's threats!
Dudu ,   Kfar Sava   (09.27.06)
6. I am sure they are very scared
Jew ,   Israeli   (09.27.06)
You Jack***ses didnt even target Nasralllah at his victory parade. You call that moral, I call it cowardly and a ghetto mentality. Are you free of the exile or are you still in it?
7. Stone to Stone, Plastic bullets for Stones
Tayfun_Turkey ,   Istanbul   (09.27.06)
Again that is a thread for escalation by IDF. Do not think I find any justification in throwing stones under a ceasefire. But Israeli security forces instead of killing them may reply with plastic bullets or by other means to those people who show cheap courage throwing stones to IDF. In final analyisis Lebonanese people is right to defend themselves and also they may be justified to struggle to get their land back from Israel but they should keep their promise at least for sometime. By the way: I think main underlying factor is Oil prices, for sometime oil prices fell significantly and both Arabs&Iran and US Oil cartels needs some escalation of event to push oil prices up again. Throwing stone and lebonan side provactors may be moved by Arab&Iran part of that oil issue but such ready to escalate counterpart in IDF is moved by oil cartels. What a theater scene!
8. ud do much better as a market broker. sell ur shares b4 u
fadi ,   lebanon   (09.27.06)
do that u idiot!!!! did u consider the idea that hizbullah might fire back !!!!! OOOH did that surprise you ... or u belive ur own lies that u detsroyed 75% of hizbullah and their firepower. Well instead of the regular gatherings of 400,000 in hizbullah rallied, the last rally was 1,500,000 (yes count the zeros carefully .. 5 zeros)... and instead of 13,000 missiles b4 the war now they have MORE THAN 20,000. So come on why dont u just try and do it !!!
9. INVADE!
(09.27.06)
10. Look out! Existential threat of the day
George W ,   Chicago IL   (09.27.06)
Oh no!!!! Lebanese kids are throwing rocks! As everyone knows, rocks thrown by little kids can blow right through helmets, kevlar vests, and the walls of armored personnel carriers. The IDF has no defense against these deadly weapons. Better to shoot everyone now before they can throw rocks. There are other weapons as well that the Lebanese have at their disposal. What happens if Lebanese kids throw frisbees at IDF soldiers? While frisbees do not have the powerful impact of small stones, they have a deadly spinning action that can cut a man in half, and they have a much longer range than a stone. Also, Lebanese kids could shoot rubber bands at IDF soldiers, piercing their bodies with deadly rubber band action. Maybe the kids could fart in the IDF`s direction, violating the Geneva Conventions against chemical warfare. Bottom line; IDF soldiers should be able to shoot all Lebanese kids under any circumstances at any time, because apparently IDF soldiers are made of fine china and can be destroyed by stones, rubber bands, frisbees, and farts. If Halutz seriously expects the rest of the world to believe that stones are a deadly threat, then there is nothing those kids can do that is not a deadly threat. Are you guys the biggest crybaby wimps in the world or what?
11. They are allowed that close?!
Josh   (09.27.06)
What type of military perimeter does Israel setup that allows people that close. Ever hear of buffer protection zones? Back those idiots up so that they pose no threat. Especially in a terrorist based demonstration, you should never allow agressive crowds within stones throw. Its a good way to loose more of our soldiers. Start doing you jobs by the book and not by the seat of your pants.
12. Back At the Border???
david ,   philly, USA   (09.27.06)
That's it?! Hizbullah has not been "destroyed", has not been "severely weakened", has not been "disarmed", and a mere month after the war, they're back at the border? Can Olmert and the rest of the career politicians cite a SINGLE gain from the Lebanon debacle??
13. Not a roadmap to peace BUT a stepping stone for terror…
LeoP ,   Moscow   (09.27.06)
Halutz is a man tired of the situation, much like the rest of us in this world… and I give him a lot of credit for having first hand experience and for standing steadfast in the face of liberal leftwing pressures… but I digress. Barghouti is trying to say that more kidnappings will come if he isn’t released. Justice should be blind, it should not discriminate, but it by no means should justice be disabled… but I digress. The question I’d like to pose is, why is it so hard for the world to understand that liberation and freedom is not akin to terrorism. A quote I heard from an American friend of mine can sum this up the best: “fighting for peace is like f*cking for virginity” And so, what exactly is terror fighting for. They’ll argue they are fighting for peace; but I dare them to point out how productive that has been. Look at the Lebanon war. The winner of this battle does not concern me, what concerns me is that Hezbo added nothing to Lebanon (in fact the war lapsed it back two decades). Iran lost a strong hold in the south, and Israel will walk away a stronger army from this experience. Hamas’s victory in the pali government was donned as a victory for terrorism, their acts were so wildly supported by the palis that hamas became a political institution. But, again, is that a victory, terrorism only brings more pain to the palis. Hamas only brought with it more hunger and strife. Palis as a nation have given up, they have instead thrown their support behind terror organizations that display themselves as saviors and martyrs. Religion is not the obstacle. Religion is just a tradition and a belief in god. Palis, by giving up and failing to establish themselves as a nation, have given up the most sacred god given right… the right to self preservation. They die for hamas, not for territory. Remember this, without Isreal, there is no need for terror. Without terror there is no need for Hamas. If Isreal goes and Hamas stays, there will need to be another target, another problem… Hamas will need to justify the terror. Without terror people will start thinking about democracy, food, jobs, education, public services. If people start to think this way, Islam will force them to back track. Terror has hijacked Islam and it uses Islam to take people back to the dark ages. Back to cave dwelling and farming. WHY? So that terror organizations in power today can continue to prosper. The funny thing is that terror has learned about this god given right called ‘self preservation’ and like a virus it requires its host to die. Today this host is the Palestinian peoples… tomorrow this host will be the world. Kill the virus…
14. #2 truley pathetic how the Arabs consider this a big victory
Roee ,   Israel   (09.27.06)
over the "Zionist entity". The only way guys can win us, is by adopting western culture and advancing to the new world - but I’m sure, like in Europe, by the time you adopt all the modern values you’ll decide to drop your arms so we could all live together side by side. Till then, keep supporting your small guerilla groups, that’s the only way you guys can fight... hiding between your women and children and then crying about it in CNN, to think you’re the same people who killed a 100,000 of their own 20 years ago makes you look even more hypocrite than you already are. I hope you wake up from your dreams and start a quick change in mentality (before the Oil runs out), so there wouldn’t be a need to start another Lebanon/Arab Israeli war.
15. #7 Im trying to understand tour logic, please answer...
Roee ,   Israel   (09.27.06)
Q1: How is throwing stones like *****n Neanderthals is defending yourself? Q2: How is kidnapping soldiers and shelling stronger state town’s is defending yourself? and last but not least, Q3: why do you guys keep comlaining even when were in the *****n UN recognized borders?
16. To No. 2, Deluded Lebanese
New Yorker ,   New York   (09.27.06)
It's simply mind boggling to read such nonsense like you wrote. Dear deluded Lebanese, the next time there is a protracted armed confrontation between Hizballah (read Lebanon) and Israel, NO restraint will be used by the IDF. You may keep yourself occupied talking about ruined Lebanon. You know precious little of what you are talking about. There won't be ruins similar to what we've seen during the last conflict. It's thanks to the indecision and incompetence (?) of the current Israeli leadership that your country have largely been spared the real horrors and destruction which the IDF is capable of inflicting. Don't delude yourself. The next time it comes down to war, it will be a real war. Did you hear - REAL, the REAL hell for you and your countrymen. If even one rocket strikes Haifa (forget about Tel Aviv), the response will be such that your usual nightmares will seem more like the stuff from The Thousand and One Nights by comparison. By that time you and your deluded countrymen should fasten your seat belts because the ascent to heaven will no doubt be like a rough rock'n'roll for you and few of you are accustomed to that. So keep up a good practice, just dance away.
17. To No. 10, George W. from Chicago
New Yorker ,   New York   (09.27.06)
I challenge you to approach the nearest U.S. army base with a load of stones and start throwing them in that direction. And then let's see what happens. You should have your last will and testament ready by then though.
18. Proportionality
observer   (09.27.06)
This is exactly an under-proportionate reaction; look how big is a stone and how small is bullet !

Ha, ha, ha, ja, ja, jack
21. to 17
chad ,   usa   (09.27.06)
Hesbollah is not going into Israel and "throwing rocks" at Israeli bases. Bad analogy there. And military action for throwing stones over the border fence? What kind of childish rationalization is that? Why don't you get out of their country first before you blame them for throwing rocks over a border fence. Warmongers.
22. hypothetically speaking
observer   (09.27.06)
What will happen, if the Lebanese manage to throw back a tiny fraction from the 1,000,000 non-exploded Israeli cluster bomblets instead of the stones? Will the Israeli react by throwing them with the maps of the cluster-bomb-stricken sites in S. Lebanon?! What will happen, if Lebanese managed to throw back a tiny fraction from the 1,000,000 non-exploded Israeli cluster bomblets instead of the stones? Will the Israeli react by throwing them with the maps of the cluster-stricken sites in S. Lebanon?! (The IDF had issued a warning to the Lebanese army that any use of military equipment in the area, including intelligence means, would constitute a violation of the ceasefire resolution.)... Perhaps the IDF confused it with so called its right to fly spying aircrafts; where?! On Lebanese or on Israeli territory you mean?
23. #16 OHHHH how right you are
Bob B ,   Vancouver,BC   (09.27.06)
They just don't get it , but hey if they stay on the path they are on they will GET it.
24. To No. 21, Chad
New Yorker ,   New York   (09.27.06)
Rather than arguing pointlessly it should be made clear: anyone attempting to throw stones in the direction of military installation or military personnel will be fired at with live ammunition. No excuses. Period.
25. proposal
(09.27.06)
(They walk around with a yellow shirt and wave flags. In one incident they were dispersed by UN soldiers. After the second incident, we made it clear to UNIFIL and to Lebanon that we will use crowd dispersal) Why not making counter-demonstrations on your own side with the IDF soldiers wearing and waving with the star of David.
26. TO DUMB AMERICANS #16,#19

according to your mentality i can suppose that in 1983 you were sucking milk from your mama's breast 243 US marines were blowed up in one moment ,so now it's your turn to try your chance instead of write stupid commentaries on Ynet come to Lebanon to fight as men.
27. To No. 21, Chad
New Yorker ,   New York   (09.27.06)
By the way, it was Hizballah's actually going into Israel and murdering and kidnapping Israeli soldiers (only to mention the latest incident) that sparked the latest fighting. Now, even though such a policy should always have been in place, thowing a stone will bring back a hot live bullet. This simple. All complaints should be directed to allah, or Koffi Annan for that matter.
28. To No. 25

Because this is not a circus or vaudeville but a heavily militarized border between two hostile, very different countries.
29. Get rid of olmert, peretz and halutz!
jason white ,   afula,israel   (09.27.06)
We were cursed with this govt of cowards. From the barak govt till this regime we were lead by spineless cowards. When will we rise up and demand new elections? When will we demand only people who served honorably in the I.D.F. be allowed to vote for the knesset and sit in the knesset?
30. Salut to you, brave babysitter!
Leo ,   Toronto, Canada   (09.27.06)
My dear brave George W! I do presume you've just got back to IL from that piece of border between Lebanon and Israel. And I'm sure you were among those Israeli solgiers who are crying ducking every little stone thrown on them by unwitty kids. You were looking at those kids and smiling.. Or were you?.. Because of you and your likes, brainless pacifist, these kids, as you call them, killing people in your country and around the globe! I wish you were there to judge Israelis, oh, boy, I wish!
