91. To all Christian supporters of Israel
Sami   (09.28.06)
G-d bless you! Ignore the ignorants on here. Also, I think the so-called "Christians" who are bashing you are not Christians at all.
92. 89 - better late than never
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (09.28.06)
you were excessively and incorrectly stereotyping all arabs, even when i told you that you that all arabs are not jew haters and muslim. even though you'd respond with curses and more prejudice, it is only reflection on you. at least you finally admit the truth (because the truth is truth whether you admit it or not). there's no shame in that. better late than never.
93. TO OUR CHRISTIAN FRIENDS
Bechor   (09.28.06)
I disagree with your beliefs, but all the same, I am grateful for the help you offer us. I would also like to apologise on behalf of those Jews who are skeptical of the help that you are offering us. However, you must remember that throughout history very little (if any) true kindness has been shown to Jews by Christians, and this is the reason for their distrust. Even if you disagree with them, I hope that you understand where their distrust is coming from. I admire the fact that even though so many Jews seem to shun you, you still find it in yourselves to forgive them. I thank you once more from the depths of my heart, and hope that we can continue to work together while still respecting our differences. Our faith is our own, and I hope that you understand that certain boundaries should not be crossed.
94. God bless Israel!
eNosho, Evangelist ,   Sweden   (09.28.06)
And YES, I mean it!!
95. Christians and israel soldiers
Barry ,   U.S.A   (09.28.06)
I thought "Christian" meant to be a follower of the Messiah/Jesus Christ. This Jesus preached non violence, that we should love our enemies, and even to feed our enemies. To treat others as we would want to be treated. Jesus foretold that Isreal would be cut off from being God's special people, which occured in the year 70 C.E. when the Romans destroyed the Temple in Jerusalem. The complete Mosaic law was done away with at Christ's death. But most important was the fact that cthristian's would be identified by the love they showed for each other. The world's religious leaders seem to be mimicing the Leader's in Jesus day who declared "we have no God but Ceasar." Hmmmmmm.......
96. #85 YOU Are A LIAR Muslims committed filthy DESECRATION
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (09.28.06)
Jews show mercy and goodness! Israel is the true friend of Christians! It was Muslims who invaded Church of Nativity, Jesus birthplace, and TORE UP BIBLES FOR TOILET PAPER - Bibles on which are written the Laws G-D gave to Moses, as "YOU SHALL NOT MURDER" Who will dare to tear up the Laws of G-D and use for toilet paper??? G-D is a G-D to be feared! Bible, Psalm 119:120 My flesh trembles for fear of You, and I am afraid of Your judgments.
97. #85 is 100% true.
(09.28.06)
98. Linda Rivera, hate appeared in your blood, try to hide it
(09.28.06)
99. Edan 87
Marcel ,   Florida   (09.28.06)
Any Christian zionist will tell you that his love for you and Israel is not his . By nature we would be in line with the rest of those who hate Israel's God and therefore His own. We have all come out of our own journey from slavery in Egypt into the promised land ,but moreso in a spiritual journey by the hand of the same God. The love I have for Eretz Yisrael and the Jews has been planted in my heart by the God of Israel. As for the rapture ,many decieved Christians believe they will escape early ,leaving Israel behind to face tribulation alone. They're wrong. Armageddon ,Zechariah,Joel,Isaiah the Jewish prophet's write on this battle between the returning Messiah and all the nations who gather against Israel. It does look like P.M. Olmert by weakness appeasment and surrender is encouraging Israel's enemies and bringing this Armageddon to a soon reality. Your God is very active for His Israel. He ,not Bush will save Israel.
100. #85, brainwashed..
Connie ,   VA, USA   (09.28.06)
You do not speak for me and I'm sure for many others on this talkback. There are many that claim the title "true christian". You should not be promoting yourself.
101. Benjamin #80 - Sometimes I'm not right, but...
John ,   USA   (09.28.06)
I stand corrected, you're right. Achraffieh was not damaged, but Dahiya is now know as "Stalingrad South." But it's a stretch to say some targets had any military value at all. The power plant in Jiyyeh is an example. The oil slick it the worst environmental disaster in that part of the E. Med. ever. Lebanon is seeking to take Israel to court. It couldn't be cleaned up because of the war, so the oil sank to the bottom of the sea. It's unbelievably bad. Do you think Israel would have bombed it if the ocean currents were going the other way? Certainly this didn't stop Hezbullah attacks on Israel. Anotherr example the Liban Lait dairy plant in Bekaa. I was reading that the UN regularly inspects this place since it is was the main supplier of dairy products to the UN in the Mid East. Before that the UN was buying from someplace in Israel, leading some to speculate that this was a "sour grapes" attack. Then there was (I think!) Dalil prefab housing plant, of which 80% of the output was to supply the US effort in Iraq. It was completely destroyed. The Mr. Dalil is now rebuilding in Bekaa, and opening a plant in the US since it's safer. Then there now famous use of cluster bombs along the border, which it can be argued was a way to keep Hezbullah from redeploying there, but of course the effect is that children wind up playing with them. It was a violation of US law to shoot those in civilian areas, and is now under investigation by the State Dept. Yes, you're right, most Lebanese have no love for Hezbullah. But it is clear that Hezbullah got a lot of traction and good will after Lebanon got bombed. Israeli jets screaming overhead has been a fact of life for most people for more than 30 years that I know of. Sure, Israel could have destroyed Lebanon easily, everyone knows that. It's the political fallout that they can't afford. So the question in my mind is how do we get the Lebanese to defang Hezbullah without destroying the country and creating more hatred and animosity toward Israel. Clearly, the "we had to destroy the village to save it" approach simply did not work. The Lebanese are too fractionalized and politically weak to do it. Lately there was some political overtures toward Syria, but it seems Syria is still not ready to bend a little. And why should they? Hezbullah clearly humiliated Israel. It was the first time the Arabs didn't clearly lose in the end. How about some new ideas instead of threats and provocations. When you dig yourself into a hole, the general rule is to stop digging.
102. Steve G
Mark Pung ,   Lansing, USA   (09.28.06)
You won't enjoy them very long when God's wrath is being poured out upon you. Laugh now, while you still can.
103. Linda #96 How narrow minded
John ,   USA   (09.28.06)
Don't forget that in the first Crusade when the Christians sacked Jeruselam and killed everyone (Christians, Jews, and Muslims) that the Jews fought alongside the Muslims against the Christian invaders. All is not black and white, only an incredible assortment of greys.
104. Converting Jews
Robert Martin ,   Minot USA   (09.28.06)
If the conversion is through your own choice, by acknowledgement that Jesus, Son of Mary is the long-awaited Messiah, in fufillment of your own prophecies in the Torah, why is this a bad thing? Why is there such hostility in your post? The Jews have been persecuted throughout the ages, yet Israel exists and thrives--read the parable of the fig tree and consider that the time is nigh for His return. May G-d bless and keep all of His children, of both faiths. RWM
105. Christians supporting Israel
Pat Packer ,   Crestwood, Kentucky   (09.28.06)
As God's chosen people, it must be our desire and honor as Christians to support our Jewish brothers and sisters.
106. Evangelicals are NOT trying to convert Jews!
Suzanne ,   Glen Rock, PA, USA   (09.28.06)
I cannot claim to fully understand the deep pain Christians have repeatedly caused the Jewish people. All I can do is explain in the most heartfelt way I know how that we are NOT trying to convert Jews to Christianity. True Christians are COMMANDED in our Bible to love and protect Jews everywhere, especially in Israel. We have the deepest love and respect for Jewish traditions, culture and, most of all, the incredible mission given to the Jews by G-d Himself, as His Chosen People. As a devoted Evangelical Christian, I pray very often for the peace of Jerusalem -- and I mean it. Peace & love from America.
107. evangelical christians
thomas martin ,   kottayam india   (09.28.06)
who are these evangelical christians. for sure i am a christian.and i can not and i will not support the israeli atrocities being commited on palestenions. that is because i am christian. so these groups who claim to be evangelical christians supporting israel are not christians.
108. Why Christian fundamentalists support Israel
Sam ,   Canada   (09.28.06)
There are Christian organizations that support Israel's right to exist and that oppose replacement theology, i.e., Christians are 'saved' Jews. However, going by this story, some of the Christians showing up in support are really dispensationalists that want Israel to rebuild the Temple, because they believe this will bring the Rapture and Armageddon. By the way, this end-time belief is almost identical to that held by Hamas and Hezbollah. In Christian and Islamic versions, Jesus comes in on their side, and the Jews are all massacred by the forces of "good" and are sent to perish in Hell for eternity. With friends like them, who needs enemies?
109. #106 Suzanne Thanks for your support!
Mark ,   USA   (09.28.06)
Unfortunately, there are Evangelicals (small in number) that are so sickeningly nice to Jews for only one reason. Conversion. I have experienced it and it is so patronizing and obnoxious. I can understand why Jews are skeptical of Evangelicals. The "I love the Jews" attitude is not genuine. It comes across as very very fake.
110.  Evangelicals did not defend Gush Katif
Mark ,   Usa   (09.28.06)
The Evangelicals said they were going to stay in Gaza and defend the Jewish land. 50,000 were going to help the 8,000 Jews. They did not do that!! The Jews needed the Evangelicals at that point but Pat Robertson was too busy blaming Sharon for the expulsion orders. Where was Pat? at the 700 Club begging for money
111. Before converting the Jews
Rick ,   new york   (09.28.06)
We Christian need to take a look at what is the sook of Matthew says in Chapter 27:25 All the people ( JEWS ) answered, " LET HIS BLOOD BE ON US AND OUR CHILDREN ". Isn't GOD a GOD of MERCY. PLEASE TAKE A GOOOOOD LOOK AT WHAT GODS PEOPLE ASKED FOR AND MIGHT NOT KNOW WHAT OUR GOD MAY HAVE GIVEN THEM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
112. Amen #106 & to #51
Cheryl ,   Puyallup, WA   (09.28.06)
Thanks Suzanne. You have expressed my heartfelt views very eloquently. To # 51. Unfortunately, we as "individual citizens", really don't have the power over our political leaders. We suffer at the hands of elected officials due to our society being a democratic one, and everyone having a voice. All we can do is pray for a heart felt change towards Israel. Both US & Israeli governments need to seek G-d first and allow him to lead.
113. #108
Mary ,   Canada   (09.28.06)
Where on earth did you get your information. You certainly have missed the mark. I belong to an Evangelical Baptist Church and do not believe in the necessity of "converting Jews". Neither do I believe that the Jews will all be slaughtered and sent to perish in Hell. The Jews have an everlasting convenant with God! Bless Israel, we pray for your safety always. Based on Genesis 12:3, we would be remiss in doing anything else. Some of us just genuinely want to help and nothing more.
114. Sam, Canada Talkback #108
Yitzak ,   Lancaster, USA   (09.28.06)
Sam, Like they say, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend!"
115. Response to # 108
Daniel ,   Danville, KY, USA   (09.28.06)
In the Christian version (the BIBLE), many Jews will accept Jesus as their Messiah, Lord, and Savior during the great tribulation. Also, it plainly states in the Bible that it is God's will that NONE should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Our God (the God of both the Jews and Christians), unlike other gods, loves EVERYBODY and offers the gift of eternal life to ALL !!!
116. To #87, Edan:
(09.28.06)
My sentiments EXACTLY. That is precisely what I always tell people in regards to Christian support for Israel and the Jews. SO WHAT if it's due to their belief in armageddon. if it's NOT TO MATERIALIZE ANYWAY, then why are we afraid to accept their help? at least they are not trying to re-write history and paint victims a perpetrator's hue and perpetrators a victim's hue. at least they are speaking the truth from a political perspective.
117. WTF
Patrick ,   Deerfield Beach Flor   (09.28.06)
May you all be damned to Hell
118. # 108 : Comments
Suzanne ,   Glen Rock, PA, USA   (09.28.06)
Christian Scripture makes no direct association between the rebuilding of the Temple and the Rapture; one simply happens after another. Actually, most Christians believe the Temple will be rebuilt AFTER the Rapture. We also believe the battle at Har-Megiddo (Armageddon) will happen a little more than 7 years after the Temple is rebuilt. It is simply not true that we support Jews because this will somehow bring about Armageddon. There is no support for this in any of the Christian Scriptures. So it is not true that Christian eschatology is "almost identical" to that held by Hamas and Hezbollah. Most Evangelicals believe the Rapture will occur just prior to, or at the same time as, the fulfillment of Ezekiel 38 and 39, when Russia and Muslim nations such as Iran will invade Israel. Only a very small number of Christians believe in a Rapture after the Temple is built; but even these Christians will readily tell you there is no tie between the two events. They are simply events which must occur near the end of the age. And I say respectfully, we do not regard Jesus as returning "on our side." We regard Him as returning on YOUR side. And neither are all Jews "massacred by the forces of good and are sent to perish in Hell for eternity." Nothing could be farther from the truth. We will continue to be your friends. I deeply regret Christians have failed in the past to show the love we are commanded to show you. Please, accept our offering of peace and support.
119. THANK TO THEM !
Moshe Weinstein   (09.28.06)
120. I agree completely # 17. Well said.
