Officials: Palestinian issue 'dead' for now    Attila Somfalvi
1. Innocent Palestinians are caught in the crossfire
There are no innocent Palis. They voted in Hamas. They love Hezbollah (Party of Evil). They want to kill as many Israelis and Jews as inhumanly possible. In other words, Rice come back home without trying to force the innocent Israelis to do anything.
Preston ,   USA   (10.04.06)
2. just one more homicide bombing by palis for palis
Arie ,   Afula   (10.04.06)
3. i like the brotherly love, democracy in palestine..awesome
dont you think that there is always repercussions for any act..well te pales are getting it now, they should gone for the cards on the board that the west and isreal tendered and not listen to hizbo-ass, syria n iran.
ken ,   california   (10.04.06)
4. #1: You don't know what you are talking about
Less than 50% of Palestinian voters voted for Hamas. They received a plurality, not a majority. There are many innocent victims in this story. The situation in Gaza is much more complex than you portray it. I've been there and talked to Palestinians--Have you?
Yehudit   (10.04.06)
5. All the same
PLO=HAMAS=AL KAEDA= HIZBOLLAH Wake up it's all the same!
Sane Jew ,   Israel   (10.04.06)
6. Giving up is Not an Option
Mark ,   USA   (10.04.06)
7. #1 relax.
There are indeed innocent Pals. There are families who are not Hamas supporters, and there are kids who are not interested in being suicide bombers. Hamas wants all of us to think it has 100% loyalty from all Pals, but it is lying there too. I am a strong supporter of Israel, but let's treat each person as an individual. If he shoots rockets at Israeli schools, kill him. If he makes those rockets, kill him. If she hides the rocketeers in her house, jail her. And if she's just a little kid, protect her against the lunacy of HAMAS, if possible. Israel is in a rough neighborhood, and that calls for aggressive tactics. But in fighting Palestinian terror groups like Hamas and Fatah, we must never lose our own culture and adopt theculture of blind, stupid hatred that they are trying to impose on their own people.
Zvi ,   USA   (10.04.06)
8. The US promoted free elections.
The US promoted democracy in the Mid-East and now it does not like the results of their own policy. Pathetic. They started the road map and must finish it! No is not an answer. They need to work on their road map.
MARK ,   USA   (10.04.06)
9. 4 Just like in the USA youre just with what
you have voted for. To me Fatah is not much diffferent than Hamas.. ITS ALL ABOUT MONEY in Gaza.. Its not about a cause, its about thugs using religious intolerance... ie.. Arafat to line their pockets while the average Palestinian gets royally SCREWED..
freedom ,   canada   (10.04.06)
10. Bush promoted a 2 state solution
He said G-D told him to create a 2 state solution. I am holding him to his words! The Quartet has to do its job. They need to get actively involved.
MARK ,   USA   (10.04.06)
11. What happened to MEFTA?
Only business will bring peace." Adnan Kashoggi, Saudi billionaire businessman
Mark ,   USA   (10.04.06)
12. #4 They Can't Hear You!
Yehudit, you may have to go back and yell even louder tot he Palis! Obviously, they are not hear you! The fact that you may have goner into Gaza and have spoken to many Palistians, does not negate another person's point of view who may not have had that partricular experience. In tnis situaation, just about anyone, wh has been following the news reports can reasonably come to the conclusion that utter chaos reigns in Gaza.
Lindon Richards ,   Milpitas USA   (10.04.06)
13. The US policy of doing nothing
Silence=Death
Mark ,   USA   (10.04.06)
14. to #11, Kashoggi
He's a weapons dealer. =)
Mike ,   Atlanta, USA   (10.04.06)
15. double standards.
personally don't see the difference between state terrorism and terrorism. You surround a persons home, make it a prison, take away that persons hope and dignity, label them criminals and terrorists regardless of any connection, and then you wonder why your indifference leads to extremist acts. shame Ms. Rice.
hugh ,   hong kong   (10.04.06)
16. Israel Role
Come on...Israel is the the major player in the riots. They are supporting Dahlan with money and weapon to confront Hamas,, this trevial issue for all honest people who want to see the truth...
Mike   (10.04.06)
17. Here it comes, they're blaming ISrael already example #16
If the Palestinians or Arabs even never take responsibility for their mistakes, they will never be able to move on in life.
Christian Bianrossa   (10.04.06)
18. Palis killing each other
We had the Arab riots in 1929 before Hamas even existed they are just a blood thirsty bunch. Like bull terriers now that they can't kill us they have turned their blood lust on each other
leah amdur ,   Jerusalem Israel   (10.04.06)
19. Palestinian issue 'dead'
And here's why! http://www.eretzyisroel.org/~jkatz/refugees2.html Palestinian leadership will not let the refugee problem be solved In 1958, former director of UNRWA Ralph Galloway declared angrily while in Jordan that ~The Arab states do not want to solve the refugee problem. They want to keep it as an open sore, as an affront to the United Nations, and as a weapon against Israel. Arab leaders do not give a damn whether Arab refugees live or die.
RIB ,   USA   (10.04.06)
20. A great loss, anothe 15 years of useless peace negoations
Too bad for the Palestinians to lose this great opportunity. It is so much fun that if Palestinians behave themselves, Israel may throw in another 50 years of negotations.
DW ,   Florida   (10.04.06)
21. Why can't Abbas strengthen himself?
He has a 60,000 man army, has had hundreds of millions of dollars in foreign aid to play with, and has an extensive political apparatus with which to exert control. He is totally capable of strengthening himself. But that would make Pals responsible rather than Israel. It is much easier for Pals to blame Israel for their problems than for Abbas to take responsibility and straighten them out.
Bennie ,   Jerusalem   (10.04.06)
22. Re# 21
He has been negotiating for 15 years with U. what did he get, he gets shit...U are occupation and U are still controlling Gaza and the West Bank. The only means to kick U out from their is by force since Jewish will never ever believe in peace.Cheating and violating agreement is structured in your DNA ...
Peggi   (10.04.06)
23. #22
peggi, peggi, peggi, calm down! since you are such an expert on "jewish dna", and surely hold a "phd" on the issue, please explain your so called "research" into the matter. and don't forget to substantiate it with historical and scientific footnotes, research doccumentation, analysis, etc...is that your own conclusion or a fact based on reality?
v. n.y. ,   usa   (10.04.06)
24. To Peggi
The palestinian issue has been dead for 70 years mostly because of morons like you who fail to see the real issues here because you are stuck on the word "occupation "AND you are stuck on "stupid" mode. Something that never existed need not be proved dead,.
