1. Halutz fights the only battles he can win
Ilan ,   Ariel   (10.05.06)
He can't manage the to get the army to win battles against Hizbolla, but has a stragey to silence any criticism.
2. A Petty Issue
Reuven Brauner ,   Raanana, Israel   (10.05.06)
This is a petty issue which is of no interest to or business of the general public. Why is the media making this into something important?
3. #2 Israel needs to know
Jon ,   Oz   (10.05.06)
just how petty the COS can be.
4. Aluf with guts
Sagi   (10.05.06)
I salute you.
5. It tells a lot about Halutz
Patrick ,   Paris France   (10.05.06)
It tells a lot about the miserability of Halutz's soul. He had already let IDF officers know that their phone calls would be monitored to prevent any leak to the press. Tsahal is not a professional army, it is the people's army and their duty is to spreak. I am affraid that I have more and more hatred for Halutz. He is hurting Israel and sent the bravest to death. If he declines to resign, I hope he will dye the sooner, the better. And believe me, I am sad to write this about Tsahal Ramat Kal!
6. Need more leaders like Ron Tal - the coalition partners
T M ,   LJ USA   (10.05.06)
Ron Tal sacrificed his " benefits enjoyed by career general, like a car and a generous salary. " to save the country. Much less can be said about the coalition partners who will sacrifice the country for their car, their generous salary, other kickbacks, protexia . Ask your members if they are willing to sacrifice their benefits in order to protect the country from incompetency and failed political policies like "disengagement" "giving away the Golan to Syria and Iran"
7. Halutz is a brat.
Jeremiah ,   Israel, Jewish Land   (10.05.06)
8. army wastes $$ on perks for generals while ...
Moshe ,   Beit Shemesh   (10.05.06)
no $$ for reservists who need flack jackets, bullets, etc. all of these former generals end up making a fortune anyhow - why should the taxpayer have to pay him for car, generous salary, etc.
9. Halutz is behaving like a dictator blocking all criticism...
Ohev Tsion ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (10.05.06)
...he's the commander who was so enthusiastic to undertake the "disengagement" of Israeli citizens and soldiers from Gaza and who fought the war against Hizballah in a tragically inept manner. I encourage you to do the best thing you can do now, Dan Halutz, which is to resign as soon as possible.
10. Kind of cheap
Nadav ,   Misgav   (10.05.06)
This guy is about to go pension anyway so let us make some noise in order to get a good listplace a some party. Any decent amyman knows that such comments are legitime as long as they are handled INTERNALLY. We only have this one army, they should not start fighting each others, we simply can not afford so. So Tal, SHUT UP!
11. Let's
Andras Bereny ,   Kfar Tapuah, Shomron   (10.05.06)
Let's not forget that Ron-Tal's is a technical criticism, not ideological. Let's not trust anymore the clean-shaved faced atheist secular non-Jewish carrier Jew. We Want Jewish Yisrael! For more see jewishyisrael.org
12. #8 migiya lo
sabbageorge ,   Tel Aviv   (10.05.06)
I think aftre 33 years of service generals deserve cars and perks...just like you get "pitsuim: when you leave regular job! how many years of service did you do or didnt do !
13. A coward fires an honest soldier, what crap.
Bunnie Meyer ,   Santa Monica, CA USA   (10.05.06)

Shalom Patrick Hamou ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (10.05.06)
Firing Him Only Makes Him Bigger
15. Kol Hakovod Ron Tal
Norman   (10.05.06)
What a crazy country the responsible for failure cling on to their seats bringing down Israel to its knees while the true Heroes are punished. I hope the days for Olmert, Peretz and Halutz and the Kadima are numbered for Israels sake.
16. A picture is worth a thousand words
Harry   (10.05.06)
From the pictures you chose for this article I see a mad man (Halutz) makes me think how he ever got the Position of COS and a thoughtfull General RON-TAL. Why don't they throw out the Mad man which caused so much suffering for the Jewish people plus lost decisively against 700 Hizballah and replace him with the thoughtfull general ???
17. ron-tal
sam ,   israel   (10.05.06)
Halutz should go home too.
