1. Peace is just around the corner
Kyle ,   Southpark, CO, USA   (10.06.06)
Yeah folks, all we have to do is retreat to the 1967 lines, and all will be sunshine, roses and rainbows. That is the view some folks have as their head is wedge firmly into the lower intestine.
2. Why waste the time?
Steve G ,   Kew Gardens, NYC   (10.06.06)
The basic headline and the story are still the same as always: "Hamas still wants to murder Israel' Anything else is just details.

5. Refugees Kept in Camps as a POLITICAL WEAPON Against Israel
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (10.06.06)
Arab Muslims first started called themselves "Palestinians" in 1967. Before 1948, Jews were known as the Palestinians. The Islamic strategy of refusing to re-absorb the Arab Muslim refugees and their descendants back into the 22 huge, oil-wealthy Arab countries is a powerful weapon against tiny Israel. The U.S. EU UN Road Map of Global Islamic Terror State Two in Biblical, Jewish Judea and Samaria - denying the legitimate rights of Jews to live in their own land - will reduce tiny, embattled Israel to indefensible 6-10 miles wide Auschwitz borders - the murderous goal of the Arab Islamic world: www.EretzYisroel.Org Palestinian leadership will not let the refugee problem be solved In 1958, former director of UNRWA Ralph Galloway declared angrily while in Jordan that The Arab states do not want to solve the refugee problem. They want to keep it as an open sore, as an affront to the United Nations, and as a weapon against Israel. Arab leaders do not give a damn whether Arab refugees live or die... This program was reviewed in 1971 by Mohamed Heikal,12 ...as editor of the influential, semi-official newspaper Al Ahram. Heikal called for a change of Arab rhetoric -- no more threats of "throwing Israel into the sea" -- and a new political strategy aimed at reducing Israel to indefensible borders and pushing her into diplomatic and economic isolation... http://www.eretzyisroel.org/~jkatz/refugees2.html
6. collapse and die - murderer

"...we also enjoy the legitimacy of Jihad..." says it all The world will be a better place if he and his cronies all collapse and die.
7. To Linda
(10.06.06)
Before 1948 Jews AND Arabs living in Palestine were considered Palestinians, not just Jews. In fact, in 1880, out of the population of 450000, 95% were Arabs. By 1948 Arabs still outnumbered the Jews by 1300000 to 600000. So please stop feeding the line that the Jews were the only people living in Palestine before 1948. Todays Palestinian population has been living in the area for hundreds and thousands of years and have just as much right to a homeland here as any Jews.
8. Over My Dead Body
Dave Levi ,   Burbank. USA   (10.06.06)
The actor who played Moses, said at a NRA gathering years, ago, in reference to giving up guns, "Over my dead body". Well, that should be said again and again about the so-called right of return. There is no such right posters (read the UNSC resolution). UN 242 applies..yet the Arabs have done nothing to further it's implementation. Hamas goes further to refute it., as does Hezbollah. But Israel is also guilty of being wishy-washy..you know, politically correctness. In the meantime, smuggling into Gaza goes on unabated, despite Condi. At least Hamas is truthful, if nothing else. As long as Israel has Merkavas and Hamas doesn't, it's all rhetoric.
9. Don't Confuse Bahar With The Facts. His Mind Is Made Up.
emanon ,   USA   (10.06.06)
There is no point in talking with the WA*. With the attitudes expressed in the the article, it is easy to see why there can't be a chance of peace. It is not the Israeli attitude preventing talks, but the other side. *Whineastinean Authority

Haj Ali ,   Jerusalem - Al Quds   (10.06.06)
Israel can't but allow the Palestinians space to breath , if two states solution is dead !!!! the only way out of this dark tunnal is ONE Democratic country with two .ethic heads , just like old Palestine under the British mandate without Zionism in power
15. Haniyeh promises

19. Israel Collapse
Tom   (10.06.06)
Israel and US are playing a dirty role on what is going on.Hanyia says we did not come on US tanks, that means, these people have been elected via a democratic way, when democracy does not serve US and Israeli purpose, they give their back to it.Palestine is for Palestinians, being strong does not mean U are right.Israel is strong but it will never live in peace imply because it is established on lies and deciption...
20. Three State Solution
Dan ,   USA   (10.06.06)
Is it possible to make a three state solution? Have Abbas drop the combined Palestine/West Bank (at least temporarily). Abbas can then negotiate for a Palestine in the West Bank with a governemnt elected by the West Bank. This way Abbas can recognize Israel, become a free country with money to pay employees while Gaza remains a slum for Haniyeh to play mr. important.
21. What The Israeli Regime Should Do
Adina kutnicki ,   US   (10.06.06)
Target these genocidal haters before they harm more Jews. Are you listening Olmert??
22. #19
Brenda ,   Indiana   (10.06.06)
That's a bunch of crap. All Palestine has to do is recognize Israel. But this is something Palestine and Haniyeh won't do so sanctions were put on them. People are rioting because they aren't being paid because their Hamas government isn't looking out for the people. One thing you're forgeting is that in a Democratic government the people can always change the government and get leaders in office who will look out for the people instead of wanting to see them all killed. One thing Just recognize Israel but you won't so you've caused your problems.
23. JERUSALEM CAPITAL OF JEWISH STATE OF ISRAEL ETERNAL TILL

idl ,   USA   (10.07.06)
They fast, attend Friday prayers and after all these presumably holy indulgences, they went out shooting and killing and praises Allah for what they have done. What is this if not of one with a sick mind?

28. #7 LIES and DECEPTIONS Concerning "Palestinian" REFUGEES
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (10.07.06)
Arabs first started calling themselves “Palestinians” in 1967. Before 1948, Jews were known as the Palestinians. The Jewish newspaper, the Jerusalem Post was called the Palestine Post. The Jewish-founded electric company was Palestine Electric. The Palestinian Symphony Orchestra was all Jewish. During World War II, the British army had a Palestinian Brigade made up entirely of Jewish volunteers. www.EretzYisroel.Org Since 1948 Arab leaders have approached the Palestine problem in an irresponsible manner.... they have used the Palestine people for selfish political purposes. This is ridiculous and, I could say, even criminal. -- King Hussein of Jordan, 1960 Since 1948 it is we who demanded the return of the refugees... while it is we who made them leave.... We brought disaster upon ... Arab refugees, by inviting them and bringing pressure to bear upon them to leave.... We have rendered them dispossessed.... We have accustomed them to begging.... We have participated in lowering their moral and social level.... Then we exploited them in executing crimes of murder, arson, and throwing bombs upon ... men, women and children-all this in the service of political purposes .... [36] -- Khaled Al-Azm, Syria's Prime Minister after the 1948 war At the time of the 1948 war, Arabs in Israel were invited by their fellow Arabs -- invited to "leave" while the "invading" Arab armies would purge the land of Jews.1 The invading Arab governments were certain of a quick victory; leaders warned the Arabs in Israel to run for their lives. 2 In response, the Jewish Haifa Workers' Council issued an appeal to the Arab residents of Haifa: [See Official British Police Report ] For years we have lived together in our city, Haifa.... Do not fear: Do not destroy your homes with your own hands ... do not bring upon yourself tragedy by unnecessary evacuation and self-imposed burdens.... But in this city, yours and ours, Haifa, the gates are open for work, for life, and for peace for you and your families."3 While the Haifa pattern appears to have been prevalent, there were exceptions. Arabs in another crucial strategic area, who were "opening fire on the Israelis shortly after surrendering,"4 were "forced" to leave by the defending Jewish army. According to a research report by the Arab-sponsored Institute for Palestine Studies in Beirut, however, "the majority" of the Arab refugees in 1948 were not expelled, and "68%" left without seeing an Israeli soldier.7 http://www.eretzyisroel.org/~jkatz/refugees2.html
29. #7 MUSLIMS Already HAVE an ARAB PALESTINIAN State
Linda Rivera ,   New York   (10.07.06)
In 1922, Britain illegally gave 80% of Jewish Palestine to Muslims. The area became Jordan, giving Muslims an Arab Palestinian State on Jewish land. The new Arab country was ethnically cleansed of Jews. Jordan is part of ancient, Biblical Israel and in addition to present-day Israel, including Judea, Samaria, Gaza and the Golan was recognized by the League of Nations as the Jewish homeland. Britain illegally barred Jews from entering Jewish Palestine whilst at the same time allowing massive illegal Arab immigration. Britain's ruthless illegal actions prevented Jews frantic to escape the Holocaust from entry into Jewish Palestine - consigning Jews to cruel deaths in Europe's killing fields. Britian, the U.S. and other countries immorally refused to allow Jews desperate to escape the Holocaust into their countries. The U.S. and Britain refused anguished Jewish pleas to bomb the railroad tracks to Auschwitz death camp. The nations were complicit in the murder of six million Jews. The cruel, Islamist world war waged against innocent humanity threatens to destroy Western civilization and laws that protect the innocent. Surrounded by 22 huge, hostile Arab nations, tiny Israel's battle for survival against global jihad is a fight for freedom and human rights for all peoples. The inalienable rights of Jews to live on their own land must not be violated. Global jihad's unopposed march to world conquest must be stopped! Jewish land must not be surrendered for Global Islamic Terror State Two - a terror state determined to destroy Israel and all of Western civilization. Alija Izetbegovic stated in the ISLAMIC DECLARATION that: - "there can be neither peace nor coexistence between the Islamic faith and non-Islamic social and political institutions"; http://www.balkanpeace.org/cib/bos/bosi/bosi01.html
30. #19...you're right...except
Jesus ,   SF   (10.07.06)
#19, you're right that they were elected democratically...but there's a problem... A government that denies another country the right to exist...AND...has a constitutional clause stating that another country be eliminated...is not a democratic government. Imagine the possibilities that the people could create if the "government" of Palestine if those clauses were to be removed from their constitution. THAT's IT...something soooo simple...something sooo easy would bring joy to the people...both countries would be neighbors that would help each other. If anything...have the Palestinean people charge their elected officials for not bringing peace to their region. Israel is ready to help them out...but if one doesn't recognize the hand that will help them...the hand will not help the people. Ask yourself why aren't the elected officials doing what's best for their people. I believe it is because they are greedy people. People that are addicted to power...and people that are addicted to something...don't want to give it up. They'll do anything to keep the power...even if it's by letting their people suffer. A good leader is a leader that looks out for his/her people. A leader that gives up his/her power back to the people. The people should NEVER be afraid of their government...on the contrary...the government should be afraid of the PEOPLE! They have a government in place...all they have to do is remove those clauses (since by having them is basically announcing a war...which we all know what war does) and welcome Israel as their neighbor and start bring the people the joy they deserve! Imagine the people not living in poverty. Imagine kids going to school being educated to better the lives of their families. Imagine friends being able to cross borders without the fear of being killed or kidnapped. You guys have the power to do that right now! Don't let your past stop you from reaching your future. We all know the suffering that has happened...ON BOTH SIDES!... As hard as you might think it may be...do not allow yourself to be wooed by your emotions. Look into your future rather than your past...and strive for the peace your children would enjoy. The world is praying for everyone there to start looking into your future...not your past. Even though it's hard to imagine...people here in the US are gathering together to bring peace everywhere. People of all faiths and backgrounds. Our Jewish and Muslim friends working together to send out a message to the world! We can live together...no matter what we believe in!
