What, are they retarded?
3. differentiating between terrorists?
Arie ,   Afula   (10.13.06)
No difference between hamass and abass other than their approach - both seek our destruction!
4. Bush should never let Hamas run!!
Mark ,   USA   (10.13.06)
Bush was warned not to let them run.
5. To Arie: Nobody hates Jews because of their religion
Ali ,   Lebanon   (10.13.06)
The main and actually the only issue of dealing with Jews from my point of view is that most of them think that everyone in this world hates them and wants to get rid of them. None can deny that such a mentaility existed in Europe but the days had changed. Jews or actually Zionists ( since not all Jews are Zionists) should realize that our conflict with the o calle Israeli state is not a war because of religion in the first place. I agree religionis used as a fuel to enlarge or expan the war but it is not the main point. The main thing is the issue of existance. When we talk about the destruction of the so called Israeli state, we don't mean that we want to kill the Jews. We all believe that Palastine, South Lebanon, (Jolan) Syria are arab countries that were given to the Jews by the british colony or the Europeans in return to what they did in the 2nd World War (Holocaust I mention this in reply to the comment I saw from Arie, who says that both guys seek the destruction of israel and I would say this is absolutely not true. Although, I am a stong believer that the so-called Israeli state will neevr be able to exist in our region for ever, I can tell you that Abbas is not like Haiyeh. Haniyeh believes in the destruction of Israel and in having a Palastinian state on all the land, Israel occupy. Abbas is seeking or aiming more for leadership. Abbas is willing to give Israelis a lot of things, Arafat neevr accepted to give ( refugess, Juresallim)…Abbas believes in 2 states and actually, the destruction of Israel would mean the end of his career. My point here Arie or anyone who thinks the same, not all world hates Jews and for me as a Lebanese ( I speak about my nation), we have no issues with Jews as long as they mind their own business and leave us alone in Peace. For people to love you, you should start by yourself: Love yourself, love others and then people will love you.
6. Satanical!
Keren ,   Sao Paulo   (10.13.06)
bush is funding the more obedient and more aligned(and more cunning and dangerous) al aqsa terrorist leader-abbas. hamas is too desobedient. At the end,it doesn't matter who of the 2 parties will be in power, since the goal is the same-attack and weaken Israel as much as possible, untill(they think) get rid of it. I wish Israeli politicians stop falling in this dangerous trap. That's how I see this tragical "aid". I wish an US leader will come in the near future, who will not be satanical, and will work for real peace in the world;by know, bush is a dangerous devil, the same clinton was and is. And ,I think, bush is the(bought) arab(maybe saudi) president for the US.
7. To Mark) It is not of his buisness
Ali ,   Lebanon   (10.13.06)
First of all, it is not of Bush or the US buisness to support or attack Hamas. This is an internal issue and as all the world knows, Hamas was elected by the Palstinians and those elections were monitord by the European Union ( so we know they are fair). Americans by friend never seek for the good of others and I beleive not even for Israelis. It would be a great loss for the Americans, if the Palastinans and the Israelis were able to live in peace.Why?...simply because our region will have no more conflicts ( i.e no more weapons, etc..)..If you are aware of the history of the US, you cannot find one single time where the Americans were able to bring peace or freedom to a region like they claim…We can start from Vietnam, to Afganistan, Iraq, Lebanon, Palastine, everywhere….I am a strong beleiver that the last war in Lebanon was strongly recommended by the US ( maybe even Olmert was forced to do it) due to the rising strength of Iran and the resistance in Lebanon ( I cannot even believe for one sec that such a war happened because of 2 soldiers). What happened? Destruction and casualties for both sides. loss for the US, if the Israelis an
8. #4 shame on you .. i thought ur a democracy advocator same

9. 8 fadi

10. Democratic conventions in the Diddle-East
steve ,   london england   (10.13.06)
What is the etymology of the word 'democracy'? It is from Greek 'demos' = people. This comes from the Hebrew word 'DM' = blood. The last or eschatological etymon is 'kratos' = authority/power. Europe has two thousand years of history in Christian contexts but only about four centuries of that history is democratic and only since the end of the Cold War in 1989 has Europe really begun to practice democracy in parliamentary pluralism. Do you know the words for democracy in Arabic and Hebrew !? What the people of the region need is a serious imagination for universal human rights. Only this sort of imagination will provide the context for the regional articulation and democratisation of power and authority. Power and authority in Europe and the USA is being exchanged through the ballot box and nowadays the ballot boxes are carrying a lot of thought concerning globalisation. How business can survive and grow sustainably that is. By sustainably we mean that business must serve human rights. Not rip people off. Now if all you mass media guys and gals out there would just do more to bring the definition of universal human rights to the Middle-East we shall begin to approach the democratisation of power and authority there. KNOW WHAT I MEAN ........
11. #7 Ali I think you are correct.
Mark ,   USA   (10.13.06)
Iran made Bush a peace offer and he refused to listen to the proposal. The President of Iran was a moderate at the time and willing to have a 2 state solution between Israel and Palestine. I recently found out Bush wanted Israel to attack Syria during the Lebanon war. Thankfully Olmert refused to do that. Many believed that striking Syria was insane. I agree. Israel wants to talk to Syria. The Bush administration opposes that idea and does not want Israel to talk to Syria about peace. I think Israel must talk to Syria and ignore Bush or there will be World War III. Bush is the first US president that has opposed mid-east peace talks. How sick is that?
12. I support democracy. Fadi.
Mark ,   USA   (10.13.06)
However George Bush declares Hamas a terror group and the USA is fighting the war on terror. (He claims). However he wants a terror group to run in the PA elections. That makes no sense. He blames terror for the mid-east conflict yet he allows a group that openly supports terror to run in an alection. Explain that one Fadi.
13. Bushie's - Rice stated Wednesday:
Norway   (10.13.06)
"There could be no greater legacy for America than to help to bring into being a Palestinian state," That is to say; The greatest thing America can do AGAINST the JEWISH PEOPLE IS to establish a terrorist-state inside the Jewish State for the most pro-jihad, terrorist society in the world. What a great friend we have in America!!! This is the greatest thing America can ever do :((
14. Ynet,the caption of your second picture(bush) should be:
Keren ,   Sao Paulo   (10.13.06)
"SURPRISE!"
15. the US shamelessly intervenes in internal matters
Noa ,   Canada   (10.13.06)
to further their own agenda, of course. Hamas was elected by the Palestinian people. The US heralds itself as the "champion of democracy" yet clearly, they are anything but.
16. Dear fadi. Learn some facts!
someGuy ,   Mars   (10.13.06)
Learn on what values democracy is valued. - In order to be recognized you must fulfil several conditions and one of them is: "Goverment". as far as the palestines concern, there is no such word. furthermore - no country will support a country which based on terror. no one needs another country like that when you have so many (Iran for example).
17. #12 who the hell is Bush to give conduct degrees and
fadi ,   lebanon   (10.13.06)
classify who is terrorist and whos not ... in this part of the world Mark the US is viewed as the greatest terrorist nation on earth ... do u hear news and reports other than CNN and the cartoon networks ... did u read the american reports of 655,000 iraqis killed since american invasion ... did u hear the report of the english army commander who said that the presence of american and english troops is creating more violence than if they leave !!!!! So before u preach with Bush the devil about terrorism see what ur government is doing !!!! if you call the people fighting for their freedom, their basic human rights, against humilation, against deporattion, for the lives of their children and families, for their basic daily neeeds ... if you call those terrorists then ur in a serious state of misjudgement and pretty much blinded by americas political system and propaganda !
18. Fadi, those people fight to destroy Israel not for freedom
david ,   ca, usa   (10.14.06)
Palestinian got a big chance when Clinton was president, and they rejected it. When you want something you compromise, the hamas and other Palestinian leaders don't whant to compromise because of grid and because their only goal is to destroy Israel. I am sure the silent mayority of the Palestinian would accept the peace agreement that Barak offered to them. See what happen in Gaza, Israel left and the palestinian instead of sizing the moment and start to build a new Gaza, for the welfare of their citizens, they destroyed what Israel left and started to send Rockets to Israel and now they are Crying. For a better future of the palestinian people, Hamas and their ideology have to go.
19. ellusive
sami ,   jenin   (10.14.06)
such project won't work as those who would receive the money would steal it as it is proven that they are kleptomaniac, and when the people read that they become more determined to weaken Fatah as they are convinced that what ever comes from the States is aimed at strengthening Israel and weakening the palestinians
20. money to who??
Liandra ,   USA   (10.14.06)
It makes no sense, that money should be used for something important, not to just throw it away to savages who will just put it in their personal accounts!!!

23. Tax dollars
Doujbtom ,   CA.   (10.16.06)
Forgive my characterization but who's the stupid son of a bitch who decided to use 42 million of our dollars to intrude into Palestinian politics after they've democratically elected their choice of leaders? Wasn't it George Washington who warned us against excessive involvement into the internal affairs of other countries? Haven't numerous presidents since Washington also warned us against this type of action? Are we that slow as learners or do we have a government which functions entirely out of our control? Is or was Palestine ever a threat to America? We are looking for a coup in Iran and Syria; are they also a threat to America? We are and have been trying to get rid of Chavez in Venezuela although he was also twice elected democratically ; is Venezuela also a threat to America? Is Bolivia a threat to America? And realistically, is North Korea a threat to America because they've managed to enrich uranium? Wouldn't that make seven other nations also a threat to America? Not to mention Israel which can hardly be called friendly when it spies on us? How did we develop so many enemies? Isn't that a legitimate question? Isn't it the truth that if North Korea ever attacked us with nukes we'd retaliate by obliterating the entire Korean peninsula? So is North Korea really a threat? Or are we just being fed yet more bullshit to generate more fear in order to control us? We, the people, could stand some good old fashion "isolationism" for a change.
