How dare the article suggest UFO. Have not the authorities, the astronomers and scientists said that we are alone? Governments and scientists never lie. The media always tell the truth. First of all, I DO believe that some UFO reports are authentic, and I DO believe there is some evidence that extraterrestrial vehicles may be entering earth's atmosphere from time to time. With that said, I do NOT think this is an authentic sighting. About a month ago I saw the same exact thing in the sky here in the US. I stopped my car and stared at it for 15 minutes, until finally, the sun set enough so that the reflection onto the aircraft contrail turned back to normal. What I was looking at was a jet and it's contrail being reflected in a very unique way by the light of the sun. This is exactly the same thing as the picture in the story represents.

This has been seen all over the world. Texas, Seattle,Louisiana (USA) Singapore, ISrael, Austrailia. Cant be light off of a plane. This is disinformation by the government. This is some kind of unidentified object Military or not, it is not a commercial or known military vehicle

We read your article, Tel Aviv sighting: UFO or plane? of October 15, 2006 and it caught our attention. My wife, Ann, and I photographed something extremely similar over Deming, New Mexico USA, where we live. Actually, we live twenty-two miles southeast of Deming which gave us a perfect view and angle for getting the photographs. We witnessed this light in the sky on Friday, August 26, 2005, 7:45pm. We were facing west when we saw this light. We watched it for approximately one hour. During that time it never moved and just suddenly disappeared. You can view the photos on our website. Planes flying at high altitude will leave a trail of condensed water vapor because the heat of the plane's exhaust superheats the cold air and causes water molecules to condense, forming a contrail (condesation + trail). It's the same thing clouds are made of, condensed water particles. Not smoke.
