Finally some justice for the unjust. The hassidic Jews are one of the biggest problems in Israel today. They are intolerant, hateful, anti-Zionistic stone-throwers. Now they go and break Israeli and international laws. I say prosecute every single perpetrator, from the impersonators to the ones who lent their passports. Israel is trying to be free from the oppression of the Arabs, but at the same time is completely ignorant of the radical problem within. Solution: a. Make them serve in the army, just like everybody else. b. Stop justifying their actions just because Israel is the Jewish state. If we justify the haredim, then that also justifies radical Islam. c. Start cracking down on haredim that break the law. Well c. is being done now with these passport pests...I wonder if anything else will ever change?

The government should be happy that all these "criminals" are going to Rabbi Nachman's grave. Maybe there they have the chance to become better citizens. Really...it's not like they are trying to leave in order to traffic drugs.

While there are legitimate complaints to be made about Haredis, your rant is nothing more than an insight into your blind hate towards Judaism. What were these Haredim accused of? Using a passport to go visit a holy tomb. Not legal but not so bad either. Do you think these criminals wanted to run away? All they wanted to do is go visit a tomb site and come back. As for your complaints, there is no question that Haredim need to be integrated better into Israeli society but the real push should come from the government and its agencies. The Haredim are pushed away from society and then are accused of not being a part of it. The effort needs to be made on both sides to better accommodate Haredi needs in the army and in Israeli society. You think a Haredi that reads about 30 soldiers being reprimanded for having sex with a teenage girl on an army base thinks to himself, "man, why couldn't my son be one of those?" You think a Haredi who watches the debacle this past summer in Lebanon wonders, "why couldn't i be a part of that?" Or the destruction in Gaza? The Haredim's love for the land of Israel transends Zionism or Hersel. It is deep rooted and needs to be harnessed by Israeli society.

Ynet chose not to post my post. SOme of the posts here are very critical of Ynet, yet they appear while my post was denied. Maybe it's because it was PRO Breslevim. I was saying that Breslevim are cool in that they reach out to troubled youths and help them build a new life by turning them to God. Let's see if Ynet deletes this post.

I am not saying all Haredim are bad. My uncle is an Israeli Hassid and he is a doctor - a useful, law-abiding member of Israeli society. However, the huge crime problem among Haredim must end. Enoug h spitting on Isreal just because it is secular. ENOUGH. Also, Haredim MUST be made to serve in the army. They are Israeli citizens - they are not superior to the kippot srugot or the seculars, and should not be given special rights. If they are Israeli, they should serve in the army (and be thrown in jail for refusing) like all other Israelis. Our children do not deserve to die in defence of some extremist Jews who sit at home and study Torah all day. Defending Israel is every Jew's obligation, and if they refuse, they should be treated just as every other filthy criminal in our DEMOCRATIC state. Enough of hypocrisy. Enough of inequality. EQUAL RIGHTS FOR JEWS IN ISRAEL.

They are not above the law of the land (even if they desire to be) so have to abide by laws as all other citizens. Often you find potential criminals "undercover" but their beliefs then tend to go to the extreeme. They feel they are immune to laws, protected, and to hell with who suffers due to what is often threats and vandalism. Maybe they should have let them leave, then not let them back in!!! Ah but can't speak for all, as do like the feel "finding G-d" will make them a better person..or do I dream?

Have Breslov hassids ever become suicide bombers and blown up Israelis, kidnapped other Jews, smuggled explosive and weapons, or otherwise done anything to attack Jews and Israel? Hassling Breslov hassids is an absolutely idiotic waste of border police time and resources.

No Bennie they do not go in for suicide bombing...as for attack on other Jews, YES!!!! A friend has had firsthand experience and few others who live in a certain city in the north of Israel. They have been threaten not to go to the police or face the consequences..eg: we know where you live, we know where your business is..........have other examples but think this will give you the idea. They disgrace Judiaism.

Although using someone else's passport does represent a crime, Israel must be sensitive to religious freedom. An equitable solution should be easy to work out.
