1. i am mad negad
v. n.y. ,   usa   (10.19.06)
very interesting nickname and, oh , so apropo. no wonder these teens and young adults are upset and fearful for their country and the path this regime is taking with their lives, economy, future, etc.... i would be very very worried too. if anything, this generation will one day be responsible in toppling this regime......remember tiangmen square? and what voice and action these students had? well, iran is not far behind. people have eyes and ears and surely, the mad man is digging his own grave. the regime will die once the ayatollah dies. ahmadinejad is nothing without the ayatollah's backing. he's a simple man from simple backgroun without a future vision for progress on any level. god is talking to him? common, do you think the iranians which are smart people fall for this? it'll take some years, but this young generation will make sure the west comes to iran. be patient usa and israel, this change is not far behind.
2. of course
American ,   USA   (10.19.06)
The world is small- of course iran isnt the dark scary place the media wants us to believe- and thanks Ynet for printing this article- The more WE ALL SEE each other as just other 'humans' sharing the same planet- the better- The old saying- we are all different-but- we are all more the same then different. FIND the bond people- look at each other as individuals. here is the USA the big propaganda war FOR WAR against iraq etc. was pathetic. it was trying to get the American people to not think- to not loe- but to hate and see all "arab nations as evil. I dont believe that- and neither should ANY OF YOU. Bush is the most hated US president in US history- and he is so stupid he doesnt even realize it. ...yet.
3. An Iranian nuclear strike on Israel won't care about this.
Zvi ,   USA   (10.19.06)
Nuclear weapons don't care what the youth think.
4. All very interesting but....
malcolm   (10.19.06)
Is this supposed to alleviate any fears about Iran because the kids are rebellious? This feeds into the fantasy that the youth will rise up against the Ayatollahs and Ahmadinejad will be deposed. There were plenty underground parties in Hamburg and Berlin during WW II that featured forbidden American Jazz and was attended by the youth and persecuted gays. Needless to say they were powerless against Hitler.
5. Off with their heads!!!
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad ,   Iran   (10.19.06)
How dare they party and listen to western music, and drugs? what's with that? Have I not taught the people of Iran nothing? Have I not taught them they need to be oppressed and listen to their leader? It's the Israelis, they are behind this.
6. answer
v. n.y. ,   usa   (10.19.06)
all i am saying, apart from the nuke reality is that you must look at the role young generations had in history....vietnam and the 60's, tiangmen square, the wall between east/west berlin, etc... the question is...is this rebelion going bto happen befor the madman acheives his nuclear goal.
7. there is a plot to kill all on top,it will be soon
reuven ,   usa   (10.19.06)
please wait and see.
8. 1000 times better than pledging to be suicide killers
mike ,   israel (formerly usa   (10.19.06)
and chanting death slogans, seething in their hatred, desiring to destroy and rule the world. if someone wants to waste their life in hedonism, it's better that wasting their life by killing themselves along with other innocent people with them.
9. 1 - why do you think they are hurrying to get the bomb?
(10.19.06)
You say "it'll take some years, but this young generation will make sure the west comes to iran. be patient usa and israel, this change is not far behind." Obviously the Mullahs know this, which is why they want to get nuclear weapons right now, before it's too late. And I believe that the USA and Israel were being patient - until all of this messianic apocolyptic talk from your president. Time is the enemy against what you say.
10. Arab phony American; Hypocrisy is your middle name.
Daisy ,   USA   (10.19.06)
You act like a lover of all people when you contstantly attack Israel and the Jewish people. You called Israel "a stupid little country." If you feel this way why do you reading Y-net? Better yet why are you using Zionist technology? Throw away your computer now! http://www.Israel21C.com
11. Young Iranians
Alexander   (10.19.06)
Contrasted with the brainwashed youth in Arab countries and Europe, young Iranians are mostly normal kids who don't worship murder or want to commit genocide of non-Muslims. They love life, and just want to live in peace so that they can use their educations to create a good life for their families, but are held hostage by a dictatorship of psychopath religious leaders. In some ways it's almost better to be Arab - at least they don't feel held hostage by their religion, since they think all their problems are caused by the existence of Jewish people.

sir, i am an ISRAELI JEW LIVING IN THE USA!!!! not iranian. god forbid. i was simply commenting about what can happen in iran because of this young generation..... i am also fully aware that time is not on our side and that the race is between aquiring the nuke and civil revolt timewise. you are 100% right in your analysis. iran's only exit from this mess is for its regime to be toppled so the usa won't have to take military action against iran. however, there are many many things and covert operations that the usa can do in iran to help topple the regime and entice the youth to change the guard. i am sure these young people would rather dance and smoke pot than walk around in burkahs and veils chanting death to america, israel and the usa. the biggest threat to the iranian regime will eventually come from inside their own country rather than from the usa or israel. question is can we afford to wait?

v. n.y. ,   usa   (10.19.06)
you are very right...IRANIANS ARE NOT ARABS! they are PERSIANS AND SPEAK FARSI, NOT ARABIC. they are very different than arabs, and before the ayatollah came to power, the country was doing well under the shah (which the usa supported because he gave the appearance of a democratic regime....but it wasn't at all....just not religious fanatic). iranians in general are very smart and educated people. they are modern by nature and westernized. they are fine people which must be very much distinguished from the lunatic religious zealot regime that is imprisoning them on a daily basis. most are very much against ahmadinejad and his cronies and view them as a threat as well. i am saying that they are much more sane than arabs in general. the only iranian terrorist i know of is ahmadinejad himself. iranians do not hate israel, only the religious fanatics in that country take to the streets and call for the destruction of israel and the jews.
14. IRANIAN POP DANCERS
ANA MARIA ,   LATIN AMERICA   (10.19.06)
I HAVE A FRIEND WHO TOLDME TAHT IN IRAN IS FORBIDDEN TO DANCE IN PUBLIC PLACES BUT SHE LOVES TO DANCE, SO SHE DO ITA T HOME, SHE LOVES WESTERN MUSIC AND CULTURA. UNFORTUNATELY, SHE PREFERS TO HIDE HER EMOTION BEHND THEVEIL AND LET CRAZY EXTREMIST MUSLIM LEADERS TO DECIDE FOR HER.
15. So Unprecise
mahdi ,   Iran   (10.19.06)
I don't favor this regime, and I hate Ahmadinejad, but I know that as long as those who oppose this regime are sitting in their luxory research centers and making unprecise judgments and analysis about Iran and it's people, nothing will change, as its been the case in the last 27 years. If Iran's youths are like those mentioned in this report, than how do you think Ahmadinejad collected 22 million votes in the election? There are secular youths in Iran, and there are religious youths in Iran, but be sure that the latter are much more prepared to sacrifice for their goals, and this is why the seculars have been no threat to the regime in the last 27 tyears, and it doesn't seem to change in the near future...
16. #2...wrong as usual
DR ,   Florida, USA   (10.19.06)
It doesn't matter what kind of culture or people Iran has...we all know its a country with much history and mnay achievements, BUT the fact tremians that they are led by religious fanatics and this crazy guy who denied the holocaust and wants to get rid of Israel. Now, if this doesn't bother you than you are probably not smart enough to know anything about nothing, so please spare us the "everyone is the same" crap.
17. Underground parties in N. Korea too
Johnson ,   USA   (10.19.06)
But, its all besides the point.

if you want to blindly support an insane regime and insane head of state, be my guest. however, do not come running to the un complaining what a rubble became of your land and cities when same regime decides to push the button. with such a man at the top which is, by the way, an embarrassment to iranians as a whole, i see a very bleak economic, political and military end to your country. your leader is leading you in the wrong path. a path towards self destruction. when you support this kind of regime, you are closing your eyes to reality and your future.
19. #15
v. n.y. ,   usa   (10.19.06)
the seculars and most sane iranians have not been a threat to this regime because they live under a dictatorship where their rights have been eliminated and where they know they'll die if they dare speak against this regime. your election of ahmadinejad were not democratic elections in the least. we all know too well how fanatics come to power and stay in power. the answer is fear, intimidation, torture of the opposed, imprisonment, etc...i have seen video clips of iranian justice and public punishment...horror! you really believe anyone will dare sacrifice their life and speak out? the only people who i see sitting in their luxury palaces in iran are the leaders and regime. and the top notch limited amount of rich people in iranian society.
20. No.18 &19
mark ,   UK   (10.19.06)
I don't think George Bush is anymore democratically elected than Amadinejad. For your information 210 million dollars were spent by different sponsors in the US before this moron was elected as president and he doesn't even represent 30% of American people. So put your own house in order before criticising other countries. If you have no money in the US,no matter how patriotic you are, you can never be elected as president. If you call this democracy then I feel sorry for the American people.
21. So what?
Antonio ,   Haifa   (10.20.06)
They hate us just the same
22. Anybody know where I can get these Iranian Drugs?
R. Curley Jacobs ,   Cambridge, MA USA   (10.20.06)
If these thugs got drugs I bessa be getting some myself. For purposes of the Drug Enforecement Agency in the USA I'm just joking. NOT LOOKING TO BUY DRUGS. By the way, maybe all the money that goes to you disinformed fools should be going to fighting the war on terror.
23. #20 mark from uk

i not only call it democracy, but CAPITALISM. and years ago, bush represented 50% of americans with an approval rating of 78%-82% prior to the war in iraq. of course you have to have the funds to run an election. our candidates are, yes, very wealthy. and those supporting them make them and their campaigns even more so. this is a capitalistic society where we choose presidents in a democratic way!!! you are right. if a candidate doesn't have the funds and the millions, it is hard to campaign and run. this has been so from the start. bush, even though you disagree with him, is no different than any other president the american public elected to office. the only difference between democracy in the usa and the regime "elected" in iran is that ours is a true democracy. for our president to stay in power and continue his presidency, he doesn;t have to have a secret police monitoring the public opinions of his constituency. he doesn't rule by fear and the promise of prison and torture if the public disagrees with his policies or views, our prisons do not house political activists against the president, we don't issue a fatwa and death warrant against authors and intellectuals that oppose our president (salman rushdi), we don't have people against our government running to exile in other countries to escape prison or torture by our gov't, we don't hand anti bush activists and insulters in public from construction cranes, we don't have a military police monitoring people on the streets and jailing and torturing them....look at how many people fled iran since the ayatollah took power.....thousands. they came here to the usa to breath freely and live in peace and not fear. our" house" may not be in the best of order as you put it, but it is a free house, ruled by democratic means and not the abuse of power seen in iran ona daily basis. go ask the iranians if hey like ahmadinejad, but make sure you get your true answer in a tiny room where no one can listen to the conversation. otherwise your buddy will be dead tomorrow.
24. Iraq war, you're wrong
Rosemary ,   LA County, USA   (10.20.06)
Dear Of Course, You are wrong about the USA trying to scare everyone and trying to make everyone think all Arabs are evil. In the first place, most Iranians are PERSIAN. Not Arab. Secondly, we specifically kept reminding people that this was between a brutal dictator who ignored 18 UN resolutions, murdered his own people (look at the mass graves), and freely walked around raping women, torturing men and boys, and many more atrocities against humanity. You may not like President Bush. I'm not asking you to like him. But when you speak to people, at least have the facts, okay? Have a nice day.

I understand you believe this is a different topic, but it truly isn't. Ahmadinejad has been over in NK when these 'tests' have been performed. If you wouldn't mind, would you please contact me to let me know what you know about NK? (rawsense2004 AT yahoo DOT com) I would really appreciate it. Thank you. PS. #23 You go! :) #5. Hahaha. Good one. Everyone have a very good day.
26. Prastitutes & drugs in Israel.
someone ,   bahrain   (10.25.06)
